The sinkhole outside Nicolas Cage's coastal home looks way worse than before ... though it seems to be a case of the situation having to get worse before improving.

The massive hole used to be confined to the front of Nic's bad ... but now the gap is wrapping around the side of the property ... which is also covered in scaffolding.

The City of Malibu declared a local emergency Tuesday evening after the sinkhole near Sea Level Drive continued to expand to the point where it's now cutting off safe access for residents and emergency crews.

And this thing is huge -- according to the city's emergency proclamation, the crater is roughly 25 to 30 feet deep and 30 by 60 feet wide.

Sophie Rain's alleged burglar made some concerning statements about the OnlyFans model at a crisis center … only months after cops say he tried to break into her home ... TMZ has learned.

Blueface was chauffeured to the gated property in a Maybach Sprinter provided by Stratos. He was accompanied by Christian Crane of Agents of LA, who represented him in the purchase, along with former Death Row Records producer and real estate investor Eric "C-Style" Yokoyama.
