Today he plays on the PGA tour (which he won back in 2017,) and has been on his A-game and making big moves at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, but he's no stranger to the Olympic competition ...

At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, he grabbed the gold medal in the men's individual event.

Tiger Woods says he was so affected by the Donald Trump assassination attempt ... he actually lost sleep over it -- and he admitted it affected at least some of his preparation for this week's huge Open Championship.

Travis Kelce had a couple shots get away from him during his charity golf game Friday ... and, one left a woman bloodied, video obtained by TMZ shows.

The video captures the aftermath of the incident ... with eyewitnesses telling TMZ Travis launched a shot on the 16th fairway that ended up hurtling toward onlookers -- before smacking a woman in the side of the head.

Check out the clip ... Travis hangs out near the group while the woman's sitting on the ground -- with the person next to her holding a cloth against her head to slow the blood flow.

4:16 PM PT -- The two journalists -- who work for Starcade Media -- just released a statement on the matter ... insisting they did not mean to rile up Jerry Rice with their Chiefs-related question.

The guys said on their Facebook page they merely wanted to know if Kansas City's 2024 wideout group "had improved enough to continue winning at a high level" ... and nothing more.

Nelly Korda -- arguably the best golfer on the planet -- has just withdrawn from a tournament in England after she says she was bitten by a dog.

Korda said the incident happened this past Saturday while she was in Seattle. She did not say where the dog nipped her -- but the damage was apparently so bad, it will force her out of the Aramco Team Series tournament that was slated to go down from July 3-5.

"[I] need time to receive treatment and recover fully," the 25-year-old said. "I apologize to the LET, the sponsors, and my fans for my absence."

Foreign policy, social security and climate change all took a back seat to golf on Thursday night -- as Donald Trump and Joe Biden put politics aside for a few moments to trash-talk each other's skills on the links.

It all went down after No. 45 and No. 46 were asked about how they believe their bodies and minds would hold up over the next four years if they were elected the next president of the United States.

Trump stated he had no worries -- pointing out that he recently won two club championships as evidence. He then stated there's no way Biden could do that, adding, "He can't hit a ball 50 yards!"
