NY Jets player Sheldon Richardson is trying to make everyone forget his TERRIBLE summer ... by putting on a clothing drive in NYC with a former Congressional candidate.

Richardson is hooking up with Kevin Powell for his 15th Annual Holiday Party and Clothing Drive Tuesday night.

Sheldon needs some positive vibes -- this summer he was hammered with a 4 game suspension from the NFL for doping, then arrested for driving 143 MPH with a 12-year-old kid in the car ... and a gun.

Admission to the party is free as long as you donate a piece of clothing to the homeless. Good stuff.

Jimmy Iovine knows how to throw a party ... the co-founder of Interscope Records moved the North Pole to his backyard on Sunday for his annual Christmas bash.

Partygoers tell TMZ Iovine went all out -- he rented penguins, real deal reindeer, and a sledding hill shaped with 2 tons of snow ... imported, of course. There was also a life-size gingerbread house where guests could build their own regular-sized-gingerbread houses.

Guests included Pharrell, will.i.am, and Gwen Stefani -- who showed up with Blake Shelton. Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris snapped a selfie with Jimmy's son, Jamie Iovine.

Insane Clown Posse has joined the chorus to bring a smile to the little girl who was horribly burned in an arson fire, and turns out the group has a familial connection.

ICP is asking Juggalos to send Christmas cards to Safyre Terry -- the 8-year-old who lost her family in the fire. Turns out Safyre's dad -- who died in the blaze -- was part of the Juggalo community.

Violent J tells us he saw a pic of Safyre and her dad, David, and noticed he had a tattoo of the group's album cover on his forearm.

J was moved and sent Safyre an autographed ICP photo, two fuzzy ICP blankets, a bunch of toys and an XMAS card filled with money.

ICP is asking all Juggalos to send Safyre some Juggalo holiday love.

Kendrick Lamar and YG took a backseat Saturday to bring a little Christmas cheer to the streets of Compton.

The rappers, both Compton natives were invited by Mayor Aja Brown to ride in the city's 63rd Annual Christmas Parade ... and Kendrick was named the grand marshal.

We're told thousands lined the parade route and gave both rappers a ton of love -- and just in case Kendrick felt like giving a little backseat freestyle -- there were 16 marching bands to back him up.

2 Chainz beat ol' St. Nick to the punch this year by hooking up a young fan's family with a house full of new furniture.

A disabled vet named Deirdre Plater is raising 2 kids on her own near Atlanta, and one of them is a die-hard fan of 2 Chainz ... the kid even learned "I'm Different" on piano and trumpet.

The family had fallen on hard times, and didn't have any furniture. 2 Chainz caught wind of this from Mark Barnes, who runs the local Boys & Girls Club and mentors one of Deirdre's kids.

2 Chainz didn't only buy them furniture ... he showed up at their home to surprise them with it. New bedroom set, new dining room table and new living room suite!

Chainz says he's also paying the family's rent for the next year! The surprise reveal was one of those major holiday warm fuzzy moments.

Yes, Steven Lawrence -- best known as his character Beans from the Disney Channel show -- is working about 300 miles away from Hollywood ... posting up in Santa's workshop at the Sunvalley Mall in Concord, CA.

Photos from mall goers posing with Lawrence -- who's now 25 -- have started popping up on social media lately.

A Sunvalley Mall employee tells us Lawrence is currently employed in Santa's photo booth.

We're also told the standard rate for spreading holiday cheer in that position is about $9/hour.
