Barack & Michelle Obama Alex Pretti Killing Is a Wake-Up Call To Every American
Barack and Michelle Obama released a strong-worded joint statement Sunday, breaking their silence on the killing of Alex Pretti, making one thing clear ... "This has to stop."
Calling Pretti's death a heartbreaking tragedy that "should be a wake-up call to every American," the former president and first lady said no matter what political party you align with, our collective core values as a nation are "increasingly under assault."
The couple stated that while federal law enforcement have a difficult job, they have a duty to work with state and local officials to carry out their work in a lawful and accountable way. But "that's not what we're seeing in Minnesota," they wrote.
Alex Pretti Killing Trump Official Takes a Bashing Over Claim Pretti was Up to No Good
Border Control chief Greg Bovino was eviscerated Sunday on CNN, when anchor Dana Bash tore into the Trump Administration's story that Alex Pretti was killed because he was brandishing a weapon and was there to massacre border patrol agents.
Bash used the "who-you-gonna-believe-me-or-your-lying-eyes" technique to challenge Bovino at every step, using video and freeze frames to counter his allegations.
Bovino was asked repeatedly for any evidence showing Pretti was brandishing or even showing the concealed weapon he was legally carrying, as Homeland Security chief Kristi Noem alleged. Bovino presented no evidence but still maintained Noem was spot on.
Bash went on to challenge Bovino's initial comment that Pretti was there to massacre officers. All he could say was that Pretti brought a loaded gun to a "riot." Bash then asked if Bovino took issue with someone exercising their Second Amendment right to carry a lawful weapon to a protest ... Bovino said he did not take issue, but in this case Pretti did not do it peacefully and was impeding the work of the officers.

In the footage, the bystander who's filming in their car is heard screaming "Holy sh*t! Oh my god!" just as an agent fires the fatal shots.
In the video, a DHS officer violently pushes a woman to the ground. Pretti appears to move toward her to help her up, and agents then pepper spray both Pretti and the woman before dragging Pretti to the ground. At no point in the clip does Pretti appear to draw or brandish a weapon.

Liam Ramos ICE Takes 5-Year-Old Kid Into Custody
A 5-year-old boy was allegedly used as "bait" by ICE agents making arrests in a Minneapolis suburb Tuesday afternoon, according to the superintendent of the Columbia Heights Public School District.
Zena Stevnik told reporters Liam Ramos was apprehended at his home by ICE agents on Tuesday after returning from school with his father, according to Minnesota Public Radio News.
Stevnik said another adult in the driveway at the house begged the agents to let him take care of the child ... but was refused. Liam was told to knock on the door of the house to see if anyone else was home, MPR News reports.
Agents took Liam and his father away in an SUV, and they were transported to Texas.
A lawyer representing Ramos' family told MPR News ... "just because something is legal doesn’t mean it’s moral. Yes, they may have the legal authority to detain a 5-year-old, but why?”
Stevnik said nearly a third of students in the district have been missing classes, as ICE activity in Minnesota has escalated dramatically, and violently, since the beginning of the year.
Three other students in the Columbia Heights Public School District have been taken into custody by ICE over the past two weeks.
