The new documentary about First Lady Melania Trump might not win an Oscar at next year's Academy Awards ... but it seems her fans will loyally defend it -- because the Rotten Tomatoes audience score is through the roof.

"Melania" came out in theaters Friday ... and early reviews show as sharp a split as any between the Democrat and Republican parties.

At the time of publishing, critics gave the doc just a 12% on Rotten Tomatoes -- put into context, just 2 of the 17 uploaded critic reviews are positive.

Grady Demond Wilson -- best known for playing Lamont Sanford, the son of Fred Sanford on the NBC sitcom "Sanford and Son" -- has died.

Wilson's son, Demond Wilson Jr., tells TMZ ... he was pronounced dead Friday morning at his home in Palm Springs, California. He passed away from complications related to cancer.

Demond Jr. didn't reveal the type of cancer he had. He told us ... "I loved him. He was a great man."

Catherine O'Hara -- famous for her work in "Schitt's Creek," "Home Alone," and "Best In Show" -- is dead ... TMZ has learned.

The legendary Hollywood actress died Friday, two sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ.

O'Hara's agency, CAA, later confirmed the news by saying she died at her home in Los Angeles's Bentwood area “following a brief illness." The cause of death is unclear.

The team behind the Melania Trump-focused documentary “Melania” might’ve put some real hard work into the flick ... but it’s getting trashed online by more than a few filmgoers.

The movie’s been review-bombed -- which is when fans share negative reviews for a project in a short amount of time, in case you were wondering -- on movie review platform Letterboxd ... and it holds a score of 1.2 out of 5 stars, despite having only been in theaters for a single day.

Most of the film’s reviews are harsh, and one of the most popular reviews on the movie’s page reads ... “If they showed this on a plane, people would still walk out.”

To be fair, there were a few 5-star reviews for the movie ... a cool 61 out of 3,436.

ICYWW ... the movie, which was directed by Brett Ratner, is centered on the First Lady as she navigates the 20 days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration -- as well as numerous fittings, apparently. The Kennedy Center premiere on Thursday brought out the likes of Nicki Minaj, Dr. Phil, and Donald Trump himself.

It’s also worth mentioning, Amazon MGM Studios dropped $40 million on the project, and they apparently spent $35 million to promote it, reports The Daily Beast.

The movie’s only expected to take in $3 million to $5 million during its opening weekend, reports Variety ... ouch.

Catherine O'Hara suffered a medical emergency at her Los Angeles home Friday ... and dispatch audio obtained by TMZ reveals she was having difficulty breathing before being rushed to the hospital.

First responders were called to the actress' Brentwood home around 5 AM Friday and O'Hara was then transported to a hospital, where she was listed in serious condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Hours later, the legendary actress was pronounced dead.

TMZ broke the story ... multiple sources told us O'Hara passed away. A cause of death hasn't been revealed. Page Six was first to report the news of her hospitalization.
