Paris Terror Attacks Diesel The Police Dog Killed During Raid

Published | Updated

A police dog trained to sniff out explosives is being hailed a hero after it was killed in Wednesday's raid on the terrorist cell linked to last Friday's Paris attacks.

Diesel, a 7-year-old Belgian Shepherd, met an atrocious end after the canine was reportedly blown to pieces by a suicide bomber.

The heroic pup had been sent into an apartment in the Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis to sniff out booby traps where the raid took place.

Word of Diesel's death spread like wildfire across social media via the hashtag #JeSuisChien, which translates to "I am a dog" ... a play on the galvanizing "Je Suis Charlie" following the Charlie Hebdo attacks in January.

Five other officers were injured in Wednesday's raid.

RIP Diesel.

SeaWorld Toy Co. Pledges ... $1 Million to Free 'Blackfish' Star

Published | Updated

SeaWorld is being thrown a golden lifesaver that could pull it out of its PR nightmare, and overhaul their Orca shows -- and Tilikum, the park's most infamous whale is at the center of the deal.

Steven Dunn -- CEO of infant and toddler toy company, Munchkin -- sent a letter to SeaWorld last month offering $1,000,000 to help fund an ocean sanctuary for the Orcas currently in captivity.

According to the letter, the plan is to build a sea pen in natural coastal waters, where the whales can have more freedom, but still be seen by visitors. But Dunn says Tilikum -- whose plight was chronicled in "Blackfish" -- is a deal breaker.

He's concerned Tilikum, who is older and seldom seen in public anymore, would be left behind -- so Dunn specifies Tilikum be moved to the sanctuary upon completion.

SeaWorld recently announced it would end the Orca shows in 2016, and open a new "experience" in 2017. It's unclear if that has anything to do with Munchkin's offer, but the timing could be perfect.

We reached out to SeaWorld ... so far no word back.

I LOVE 'EM

Dez Bryant has Jerry Jones' FULL SUPPORT when it comes to pet monkey ownership -- with the Cowboys owner admitting, "I am a monkey fan."

Jones appeared on 105.3 THE FAN Dallas/Ft. Worth -- and was asked if he had a chance to meet with Bryant's alleged pet monkey Dallas.

Jones says, "Missed the monkey" -- insinuating that Dez may have already gotten rid of the little guy -- but adds, "The monkey thing is pretty humorous."

Jones then launched into a story about how his father was in the "wild animal business" -- and had a minor crisis when one of the monkeys attacked a little girl and ripped her hair out.

... interesting since that's EXACTLY WHY THE ANIMAL GROUPS DON'T WANT MONKEYS AS PETS!!!

As for Dez's monkey -- still no word on its whereabouts.

Mickey Rourke Don't Eat Dogs! Mine Saved My Life

Published | Updated

Mickey Rourke was seconds away from putting a bullet in his head, until one of his Chihuahuas gave him a look that melted his heart and made him put the gun down.

Rourke told the emotional story while attending the premiere of "Eating Happiness" -- a documentary about dog meat consumption in Asia. Mickey told reporters on Sunday night, "I was hurting myself and I was sitting in the closet one day. I couldn’t take it anymore and picked up a gun.”

He said, “I was deciding what part of my head to put it on and my dog, Beau Jack, looked over and he looked up at me like this and … he said [with his eyes], ‘Who’s going to look after me?"

Mickey added, "It made me put the gun down. I was ready to go.”

Page Six first reported Mickey's comments. He didn't mention the date of his suicide attempt, but it's been several years since we know Beau Jack died in 2002.

Mickey told the heart-wrenching story once before ... to Barbara Walters in 2009.

Dez Bryant Cops Aware of 'Alleged Illegal Possession' Of Monkey

Published | Updated

The Dez Bryant pet monkey saga has reached new heights -- with Dez's personal attorney reaching out to cops in an effort to avoid a criminal investigation.

As we previously reported, animal rights groups went bananas after Dez posted a pic with a domesticated Capuchin monkey which he named Dallas Bryant ... a monkey that appeared to be his new pet.

Now, officials in DeSoto, TX -- where Dez is believed to reside -- tell TMZ Sports they have been made aware of the "alleged illegal possession" of the monkey within city limits.

In fact, the DeSoto PD has issued a statement saying, "The City Attorney was just contacted by Mr. Bryants’ personal attorney who advised the monkey is NOT in the City of DeSoto."

"The DeSoto Police Department is in contact with the City Attorney, the Dallas Cowboys organization, and Mr. Bryants’ personal attorney, regarding this matter. We have also been in contact with PETA and the North America Primate Sanctuary Alliance in an effort to address their concerns."

"It should be noted, that as of this date, the DeSoto Police Department has no evidence that the Capuchin monkey is in the City Of DeSoto."

"Although photos were posted on social media sites, this does not rise to the level of probable cause necessary to secure an administrative search warrant to seize the monkey."

George and Amal To the Rescue Dog

Published | Updated

Turns out George and Amal Clooney are humanitarians and canine-itarians ... because they just added a rescue dog to their brood.

The couple adopted Millie the basset hound, who is now the sister of Louie the cocker.

Millie came from the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society. The shelter tells us they had no idea George and Amal were coming by Wednesday afternoon ... they apparently fell in love with the dog after seeing its photo online.

The couple brought Louie along to make sure the hound would be a good fit at home. The staff said there was instant chemistry between all so they went ahead with the adoption papers.

Millie was found outside a restaurant looking for food before getting dropped off at the shelter.

George and Amal ... they do life right.

Unclear when or where the video was shot -- but holy crap, dude could have been seriously messed up had the alligator decided to stay and fight instead of slither away.

Dez Bryant Ripped Over Supposed Pet Monkey 'He Will Live to Regret It'

Published | Updated

Not everyone caught the cutsies when Dez Bryant posted a pic of his supposed new pet monkey -- several animal organizations are FURIOUS ... claiming the move is downright "irresponsible."

The monkey in the middle is "Dallas Bryant" -- who Dez snuggled up with earlier this week and called, "My new best friend." Several reports say he "adopted" the animal.

But it's a HUUUUGE mistake according to multiple animal groups ... groups begging the NFL star to give the monkey to an animal sanctuary as soon as possible.

One of the critics is April Truitt -- co-founder of the North American Primate Sanctuary Alliance -- who tells us, "A baby capuchin monkey is completely irresponsible to have."

"This animal can easily live 30 to 40 years of its life. I guarantee you it won’t be in his possession that long. Instead he will begging someone like me to take this animal off his hands. It’s inevitable."

"I guarantee you this was an expensive purchase and he will live to regret it I guarantee you."

We also spoke with Dr. Ian Robinson -- V.P. of the International Fund for Animal Welfare -- who says, "Having a monkey as a pet is a huge commitment. Appealing cuddly babies turn into troublesome 'teenagers’ and aggressive adults."

As for Bryant -- he has NOT clarified if he plans to keep the animal as a pet ... but we're told NAPSA plans to reach out to him to try and talk him out of it.

'Cause no one wants Dez's monkey to end up like Justin Bieber's ...
