Former NBA standout Al Harrington says "shut up and dribble" belongs in the past ... and he's got a pretty good reason for getting involved in politics these days.
Charlie has boots on the ground in Texas, and he caught up with Harrington at Republican senatorial candidate Ken Paxton's rally in Fort Worth ... where Harrington told us he's getting more involved in politics, particularly because of his business interests in the cannabis industry.
Harrington, who has been invested in cannabis since 2011 and lives in Texas, says he's trying to understand where the industry is headed amid looming restrictions ... and wanted to hear what Paxton, Texas' current attorney general, had to say.
The WNBA is drawing a line in the sand -- kind of ... because while the league insists that Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White can't play in the league because they're men, the WNBA still hasn't defined what a woman is.
Here's the deal ... WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbertwrote a letter to Republican lawmakers on October 16, saying the two former NBA players can't play in the WNBA because they're "both men."
However, Engelbert -- who is resigning from her position at the end of the year -- didn't define what a woman is ... instead simply saying Enes and Royce don't qualify.
Prince Harry says he'd like to work things out with his family ... though he claims "some people don't want" the royals to fix their fractured family.
The Duke of Sussex opened up about his family troubles in an interview with GQ after he was asked whether he's grieving his complicated relationship with King Charles and Prince William.
Harry says ... "Some people don't want it to work out. I want it to work out. With everything else that's going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile -- that's the key point."
Jaime West admitted to having a drink -- or a couple -- in an attempt to calm her nerves before the viral interview where she was slurring her words.
The Indiana candidate went on Piers Morgan's show ... and the host asked her point-blank if she'd been drinking before sitting down for a general election candidates' forum earlier this month.
Check the clip ... JW copped to having a beer to settle her nerves. But when Piers pressed her about the amount she drank, the county council hopeful revealed she hadn't stopped at just one.
Donald Trump's at it again with the name changes ... and this time, he's got his eyes on one of our states.
The Prez took to Truth Social Monday to insist New Mexico change its name to New America, arguing ... "We are not Mexico, we are the United States of America!"
Trump even seems to believe the new moniker would boost the state's economy, saying ... "The name would add great value and prestige to the State! Home Values and Incomes would rise, and you would be even prouder while saluting our beautiful American Flag!"
The protests in France this weekend caused quite a bit of chaos ... with burning cars and smoke everywhere as hundreds of thousands flooded the streets.
Wild video shows protesters looting and lighting vehicles on fire as displays of civil unrest popped up in various cities across the country.

Five vehicles were involved in the wreck, according to police. Oliver was taken to a hospital for treatment before being arrested.
Gina Hinojosahas a message for Elon Musk ... he's lucky to be in Texas, so he'd better keep his hands off the beaches.
Our own Jacoband Charliecaught up with the Democratic gubernatorial candidate in Texas ... where the conversation went from sharing Whataburger iced tea to the world's richest man.
Things got interesting when Gina accused Gov. Greg Abbottof trying to hand over Boca Chica State Park to Musk ... saying she's not about to let billionaires call the shots.
France is in flames ... with shocking scenes of burning buildings, trashed businesses, and violent clashes with cops as protests spread across the country.
Dramatic footage and photos show fires tearing through buildings as streets fill with smoke and debris. Businesses have been looted, public property trashed, and police have been forced into confrontations with violent demonstrators in multiple cities.
One of the most disturbing scenes unfolded in Limoges, where a historic town hall was badly damaged by an arson attack. Other cities, including Paris, Lyon and Marseille, have also seen destruction as the unrest escalates.
The President took to Truth Social Sunday morning giving an impassioned endorsement of Bibi to "the Great People of Israel" -- calling the PM "Strong, Brave, and Brilliant."
Speaking about the Iran War, DJT also said "If Israel has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so."
President Donald Trump is busting his butt on the campaign trail for John Husted ... while he apparently still can't get the Senate hopeful's own rear end out of his mind.
The prez appeared in Highland Heights, Kentucky, as part of the Republican Party's midterm push ... and -- though Husted is running in Ohio -- Trump brought up his magnificent rump.
Trump once again admits he was checking out Husted's ass ... telling fans he just couldn't take his eyes off of it.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has overcome a lot in his life -- suffering a catastrophic injury as a young adult -- so he was more than amused listening to our TMZ DC guy agonizing over whether to accept a beer because of his Gen Z stomach issues.
Jacob made it to the Governor's mansion in Austin Friday night, and Abbott was more than hospitable, offering our TMZ DC Managing Editor a brewski. Jacob, among many other things, is gluten-free, so he resisted.
BTW ... the same thing happened in Detroit a few days earlier with Michigan senatorial candidate Abdul El-Sayed ... same stomach excuses -- it's hilarious.
Back to Abbott -- now that there's an opening for White House Press Secretary, the Governor says he thinks he's got the perfect replacement. HINT: Abbott's looking at him.
In the end, Jacob chugs it down and leaves satisfied.
PS ... Jacob called Harvey 2 hours later to complain that his stomach felt volcanic.
10:24 AM PT -- Fox News tells TMZ ... “Sean Hannity decides who he interviews and what he asks his guests, period. That’s been true for three decades, through several administrations, and that authenticity is why he’s been number one for nearly 30 years. Susie Wiles and Danielle Alvarez had nothing to do with the booking.”
Katie Zacharia's exit from her short-lived White House Press Secretary gig may have been a hit job orchestrated by none other than President Trump's tough-as-nails Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, according to Politico.
Citing two anonymous sources, Politico reports that Katie's Thursday interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News was all set up by Wiles as a "sanctioned hit."
As you know ... the following day, Katie was given the ax by Trump after merely five days as press secretary. Moments before her termination, Trump said he told her she should reconsider taking the job.
Katie Zacharia got the ax while being interviewed about her new role as White House Press Secretary ... and she just walked away without ever returning to her job or the sit-down with the reporter, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The WSJ gave a shocking blow-by-blow account of Katie's last moments in the role -- one she held for a mere 5 days -- on Friday afternoon.
According to the publication ... Katie was seated behind her desk in a small office scattered with only a few personal items, namely a curling iron, a pair of heels and a cosmetic bag, as well as a white orchid.
Casey Anthony says America needs to do away with the death penalty ... 15 years after she narrowly avoided the punishment herself.
Casey -- who was found not guilty of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee back in the summer of 2011 -- says state-sanctioned death as a punishment is inhumane ... claiming there's no evidence that the severe punishment stops people from committing crimes.
