California Governor Gavin Newsom is frustrated and surprised over how wildfire rebuilding efforts have played out in Los Angeles ... especially after a recovery proposal pushed by Harvey stalled at the City level.

Jacob asked Newsom Wednesday in D.C. about his post-fire conversations with Harvey regarding local architect Dan Brunn's ambitious desire to rebuild Altadena and the Palisades ... a proposal Newsom eagerly supported after the devastating 2025 wildfires.

Newsom tells us he personally followed up with Brunn on the proposal -- and had his team do the same. BTW, Brunn and 100 other architects were doing it for free.

Rep. Randy Fine is among the Jewish members of Congress on both sides of the aisle being threatened with death by antisemites ... and we've learned one voicemail he received Tuesday is being investigated by Capitol Police.

TMZ DC obtained a voicemail from someone who dialed up Randy's Washington, D.C. office ... a diatribe on Jews complete with threats of extreme physical violence.

In the message, the GOP Congressman from Florida is threatened with being beaten to death and having his "beanie" -- a reference to his yarmulke -- shoved up his anus.

Senator Tim Kaine has all sorts of advice on the probable Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce prenup ... shop around for the best place to write it, but don't dwell on it 'cause it could sink your marriage!!!

We got the Senator from Virginia Tuesday in the Capitol, and asked about our story that it might be advantageous for the soon-to-be-newlyweds to ink a prenup in Rhode Island.

Jacob's inquiring mind wanted to know if Congress should pass a federal law making the rules of the road for prenups the same in every state. Kaine, who's a Democrat, professed a somewhat Reagan-esque view, saying the feds should only pass laws when there's an issue of national importance. He also thinks states can learn from each other by comparing.

Senator Ted Cruz and Charlie got in a heated exchange ... over President Trump's $1.776 billion slush fund that might compensate January 6th insurrectionists at taxpayer expense.

Charlie was blunt ... as a taxpayer he didn't want to pay people who committed violence at the Capitol. The Senator from Texas shot back with a question ... Was Charlie concerned about President Biden weaponizing the Justice Department against peaceful protesters as well as President Trump himself?

Charlie pushed back, saying this wasn't about Biden in the past ... it was about Trump in the present -- giving money to January 6th rioters who were convicted of violence.

Ted Cruz is weighing in on the Los Angeles mayoral race ... telling TMZ DC things are so bad in Los Angeles under Mayor Karen Bass ... while praising Spencer Pratt.

Jacob got the Senator from Texas on Capitol Hill and asked him if a potential Trump endorsement would help or hurt Spencer in a solid blue area.

Ted says he doesn't know what the result of Trump endorsement would be ... but he doesn't think it would matter either way, considering what he feels is a steep decline in the quality of life for Angelinos under Bass..

Spencer's been ripping Bass in political attack ads, and Ted says they're going viral because "they speak to a real truth" about "devastating" Bass policies when it comes to wildfires, crime, drug use in the streets and homelessness.

The way Ted sees it ... even the most liberal voter in Los Angeles doesn't want their kids to have to dodge homeless people on the way to school ... or step over human feces on the way to work.

Lindsey Graham is no Jack Osbourne when it comes to the intersection of celebrity and politics, telling TMZ DC ... celebs should absolutely use their platforms to get involved, even if they're gonna be "obnoxious" about it.

Charlie got the Senator from South Carolina on Capitol Hill and asked him about a comment Jack made to us last week ... namely, that celebrities should "shut the f*** up" when it comes to politics.

Lindsey couldn't disagree more.

Ding, ding ... Capitol Hill school's in session, and Senator Cory Booker's got a front row seat for the TMZ DC gang learning an important lesson ... one that totally interrupted our convo with him!

Check it out, our guy Jacob bumped into the senator and things got off to a great start ... he yelled out to "Senator Booker," who quickly corrected Jacob and said, "Cory's fine."

CB immediately rolled out the welcome mat, telling us ... he looks forward to TMZ DC being in town, because, in his eyes, more accountability in politics is a good thing.

Congressman Jonathan Jackson says college athletes shouldn't just dominate on Saturdays and Sundays ... they should use their transfer power to fight for civil rights, too.

Jacob caught up with the Rep. from Illinois Friday on Capitol Hill ... where Jackson unloaded on states he believes are rolling back voting rights protections -- and argued athletes should respond by bolting for schools elsewhere.

Watch the video ... Jackson specifically called out Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi and Alabama ... saying if state lawmakers are "going to take African-Americans' voting rights and their representation away," athletes should use freedom of choice and hit the transfer portal.

Pramila Jayapal says Iran belongs at the World Cup right alongside everybody else ... no matter how heated world politics get.

Check it out ... the Washington congresswoman -- whose district includes Seattle, one of the host cities for the tournament coming up in June -- told TMZ on Friday morning she doesn't think Iran should be excluded from the global competition despite ongoing international tensions.

"I think that it is important that we continue to have countries participating from all over the world," Jayapal said when Jacob asked if Iran should still participate. "These are soccer players from Iran ... they're important participants in FIFA."

So much for toning down the rhetoric after last month's assassination attempt ... messages are pouring into congressional offices with cries to kill all the Jews.

TMZ has obtained several voicemails from people who called Congressman Jared Moskowitz's Washington, D.C. office ... all diatribes on Jews, Israel and how both should be exterminated. We're told this is a "small sampling" of voicemails with the same message and tone.

The hatred is loud and visceral, and the message is clear -- as one caller urged, "The U.S. Government needs to kill all the Jews."

Jack Osbourne says celebrities should keep their mouths shut when it comes to politics ... telling TMZ DC entertainers should do two things ... entertain and STFU!!!

Charlie and Jacob got Jack and his mom, Sharon Osbourne, on Capitol Hill and asked them if they were political.

Jack went off ... telling TMZ DC celebrities need to "make entertainment, entertain the people and shut the f*** up."

We asked Jack if celebs with big platforms and big opinions should use their voices to change hearts and minds ... and he told us those folks are in the wrong line of work.

RFK Jr. had a visitor Thursday at his office -- a famous cousin who was bearing what we're guessing are some unwanted gifts.

Jack Schlossberg, President John F. Kennedy's grandson, showed up at the Department of Health and Human Services with a bottle of Tylenol in one hand and a subpoena in the other.

We can explain.

Jack told Charlie the Tylenol is purely anticipatory ... anticipating the moment when Schlossberg -- a New York candidate for Congress -- takes the oath of office, because that's gonna give RFK Jr. a major headache.

Jacob is a self-described "whiny Gen Zer" ... and he's picking up the battle cry of booting old folks from Congress ... but 87-year-old Rep. Maxine Waters doesn't see it that way.

Our TMZ DC guy ran into the Congresswoman from L.A. Thursday, and asked if she'd be down with an age limit on people who serve in the nation's Capitol.

Waters kinda scoffed, saying we should be looking at effectiveness, not birthdates.

Jacob then upped the stakes by asking about our current Prez, who turns 80 in 1 month. Well, that triggered Waters big time ... as she launched into all the reasons why he shouldn't be in the Oval.
