Nyquist 'Plan Is to Run Belmont' ... Will Recover From Fever

5/23/2016 9:07 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
Exclusive Details

0523-nyquist-gettyNyquist -- the winner of the Kentucky Derby -- is still battling a fever ... but his team believes he'll beat the illness and WILL compete at the Belmont Stakes next month.

We spoke with Nyquist's assistant trainer, Jack Sisterson, who tells us the champion thoroughbred still has an elevated temperature, as he did following the Preakness, but the team believes it's not that serious.

"Nyquist is going to be fine," Sisterson tells us ... "The plan is to run in the Belmont [on June 11th]."

"These fevers happen sometimes, but not often."

Sisterson says the team will obviously make sure Nyquist gets the best care -- and "will make sure he's 100%" before the race.

Celine Dion Shocked by 'Package' at BMAs

Exclusive Details

0523-celine-dion-and-son-billboard-awards-GETTY-01Celine Dion had no clue her 15-year-old son would be presenting her ICON Award at the Billboard Music Awards ... even though producers talked about it right in front of her.

That's because they used a code word for Rene-Charles during rehearsals. Our production sources tell us Celine's son was referred to as "the package" all weekend. This was the first time he had been to one of his mother's award shows ... which added to the surprise for Celine, we're told.

For keeping the secret, the teenager scored an awesome reward -- a backstage pic with Rihanna.

Oh, and Mom was really happy. That was good too.

What a night! #billboards2016

Sia Ultimate 'Survivor' Fangirl Throws $100k To Show Finalist

5/19/2016 9:36 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
Exclusive Details

Sia and her famous bangs handed out major bucks ... $100k to one of the 'Survivor' finalists, who was 100% surprised by her generous gift.

During Wednesday night's finale a voice was heard interrupting Jeff Probst ... and then Sia shocked everyone by jumping onstage and dishing out the dough to fan favorite Tai Trang. Sia's reason for the big donation -- she's a huge fan of the show and was moved by Trang's positive messages throughout the season.

$50k is going directly to Trang, and the rest to his favorite charities. Trang tells us he's still unsure how he'll spend his cut -- but is vowing to spread the other half around several charities in San Francisco, where he lives.

The tribe has spoken ... and Sia's pretty loaded.

Zoe Kravitz Cops Tried to Shut Down My Sunset Strip Gig

0519_ysl_party_inside_photos_launchZoe Kravitz packed 'em in for her performance at a YSL launch party on the Sunset Strip -- and while the famous guests loved the action ... the neighbors did not.

Kelly Osbourne, Hailee Steinfeld, EJ Johnson and model Genevieve Morton (yeah, the hot one in white) were just a few of the celebs there when about 4 cop cars pulled up to the old Tower Records building at 10:30 PM.

We're told at least one normie living in the area wasn't happy about the noise from the event. Too bad for that person -- YSL had a permit to party until 11 PM ... and they did.

Earplugs, bro. Earplugs.

Kesha Dr. Luke Torpedoes Billboard Gig

5/17/2016 1:02 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
Exclusive Details

0517-kesha-tmzupdate_graphic_red_bar4:30 PM PT -- Kesha now denies she was going to take a shot at Dr. Luke at the BMAs ... insisting she was merely going to perform a tribute to Bob Dylan by singing a cover of his, "It Ain't Me, Babe."

She says she was never going to "allude to my legal situation in any way. I simply wanted to sing a song I love to honor an artist I have always looked up to."

Production sources on the award show tell us the Dylan classic includes several lines that could easily refer to Kesha's situation with Luke ... and that was not a coincidence.update_grey_gray_barDr. Luke is putting the kibosh on Kesha performing at the Billboard Music Awards ... where she was planning to make a "statement" about her war with Luke and Sony.

A rep for Dick Clark Productions -- which is producing the award show on Sunday -- says Dr. Luke's label, Kemosabe Records, has been unable to reach an agreement with Kesha for her to take the stage.

TMZ broke the story ... production sources told us the singer was going to reference her epic legal battle during her live BMAs performance. Problem for her is Kemosabe holds all the power, since it still controls her music rights.

We're told Dr. Luke had signed off, but pulled the plug once he got wind of what Kesha was planning.

Of course, she could still get onstage, and just not sing her own songs -- but we're told producers are still holding out hope for an 11th hour deal.

We're told Game dropped $65k on the artwork, which took Madsteez more than 100 hours to complete. The 8' x 6' portrait is a combination of oil, acrylic and spray paints -- and, as of Sunday, has been hanging proudly in Game's crib.

Exclusive Details

0512-eric-winter-hospital-roselyn-sanchez-INSTAGRAM-01"Days of Our Lives" actor Eric Winter is recovering in a hospital with debilitating and mysterious numbness.

Eric has been dogged by neck and back issues for years, and he's already gone under the knife twice, but without success.

The pain was too much and last Tuesday he went back in ... it was especially alarming because he experienced numbness running down his right arm.

Lucky for Eric ... doctors did not perform a third neck surgery. They tried a minor procedure they hope will do the trick.

It's been a rough couple of weeks for soap stars. A "General Hospital" actor was in a horrendous car accident but got off pretty easy.

NFL's Greg Hardy Hits 5th Grade Class ... I'm Not a Monster!

5/13/2016 10:19 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
Exclusive Details

0513-main-greg-hardy-instagram-03

The Greg Hardy image makeover tour rolled through a 5th grade class in Mississippi Thursday -- where the embattled NFL star read to kids, signed autographs and of course, posed for pics.

TMZ Sports has learned ... Hardy hit up the Oxford Intermediate School in Oxford, Mississippi yesterday. Sources tell us he was invited by a teacher who met Hardy at church.

We reached out to Principal Steve Hurdle who tells us, "[Hardy] spoke to a class about being good students and working hard. He read a book to the class and then he left our campus."

It's unclear if parents were informed about Hardy's appearance before he arrived on campus.

Hardy is a curious choice as a guest speaker to 5th graders considering his past -- which includes a 2014 domestic violence conviction that was overturned on appeal when the accuser stopped cooperating with prosecutors.

Hardy's agent has said the NFL star is getting help for his behavioral issues -- including individual and group counseling.

For his part, Hardy said he "had a blast" at the school ... and said the kids were "awesome."

Joan Rivers Malpractice Suit Settled for Millions

5/12/2016 2:15 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
Exclusive Details

0512-joan-rivers-TMZ-01The Joan Rivers malpractice lawsuit has settled for millions of dollars ... TMZ has learned.

Melissa Rivers sued the clinic where Joan Rivers slipped into unconsciousness and never recovered. Melissa sued Yorkville Endoscopy as well as Dr. Gwen Korovin, the doctor who allegedly was not authorized to be in the surgery room and was working on Joan when the emergency occurred.

The settlement came very quickly by legal standards ... it never even reached the deposition stage.

As for the money, our sources would not be specific, but one source insinuated it is in the 8 figures.

You may recall one of the doctors took a cell phone pic of Joan when she was under, which became quite embarrassing for the clinic.

Melissa Rivers says she's happy "those culpable for [Joan's] death have accepted responsibility for their actions quickly and without equivocation." She hopes the lawsuit and settlement will force an elevation of standards in outpatient surgery clinics.
