Kristen Stewart might get a thank you note for ruining Liberty Ross' marriage ... 'cause it seems LR has upgraded BIG TIME from adulterous Rupert Sanders to music honcho Jimmy Iovine. 

Liberty and Jimmy were seen leaving a NYC hotel together this morning -- amidst rumors they've been dating for the past couple of weeks.

The timing makes sense, since Liberty just filed for divorce from Rupert on January 25 ... 6 months after the "Snow White and the Huntsman" director cheated on her with K-Stew.

Iovine is a LEGEND in the music world -- he co-founded Interscope Records, worked with huge stars like Eminem and Lady Gaga ... and reportedly co-owns the ultra-successful Beats by Dre brand with Dr. Dre.

Liberty Ross has filed for divorce from her cheating hubby Rupert Sanders ... TMZ has learned.

Ross just filed her paperwork in L.A. County Superior Court.  She's asking for joint custody of their 2 children -- ages 5 and 7. 

Ross, who is repped by disso-queen Laura Wasser, is also asking for spousal support, as well as attorney's fees.

Sanders, who is repped by Lance Spiegel, also filed his response to the divorce petition.  He's also requesting joint custody.  He is not asking for spousal support.  As for attorney's fees, he wants to share the costs with Liberty.

Sanders famously cheated on Ross ... with Kristen Stewart, whom he was directing in "Snow White and the Huntsman."

As we first reported ... Ross and Sanders went to a shrink a number of times trying to work out their problems, but it was not meant to be.

 Liberty Ross didn't seem like a woman about to file for divorce when we spoke to her just two weeks ago ... or did she?

As TMZ first reported, Ross filed for divorce yesterday from her director hubby, Rupert Sanders, who made headlines over the summer for his fling with Kristen Stewart.

When we caught up with Ross outside of the Chateau Marmont back on January 11, she said the latest with her was simply ... "happiness." (Or maybe she said fabulous. Hard to tell. But still ...)

Was she happy because she knew she was about to dump her cheating hubby? Or was she still in the process of trying to make it work? Watch the video and judge for yourself.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were spotted yesterday at JFK airport after reportedly spending the Thanksgiving holiday in London with Robert's family.

Liberty's estranged husband Rupert Sanders joined the gang -- he was dressed up as a bad-decision maker who's desperately trying to win back his hot wife.

The couple formerly known as Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson ... reunited last night to see the artist formerly known as Prince ... in what appeared to be a real deal date night ... and TMZ has the pic.

Rob and Kristen rolled up to the Sayers Club in Hollywood in the same SUV ... and sneaked into the back entrance to see the Purple One live in concert.

A short time later, the couple rushed back into the car -- trying to cover their faces -- but it was too late ... they'd been made.

It's unclear if the two are officially back together -- or if they're just toying with the media in what could be a shameless publicity trick to hype up their new movie.

In related news, the show was pretty good -- he played "JUNGLE LOVE" .... the one he wrote for Morris Day & The Time!!!!!!!

Rupert and Liberty Ross shared a great big HUG after leaving a counseling session in Beverly Hills Wednesday. We broke the story ... just weeks after the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal broke, Liberty and Rupert were seeing the counselor.

We also told you ... Liberty went to see a divorce lawyer after the story broke but she has not pulled the trigger and wants to save the marriage.

Our sources say Liberty has laid down some ground rules for any reconciliation ... which includes an extramarital banging ban.

Judging by the hug, it seems they're making some serious progress ... but neither Rupert nor Liberty was wearing a wedding ring at the time of the embrace. They arrived and left separately.

Seems to be the season for forgiveness ... just a few days ago, Robert Pattinson was photographed hangin' out with Kristen.

Just one month after Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson allegedly called it quits ... KStew bought a house within monitoring distance of her ex ... a very weird move indeed.

Stewart dropped $2.2 mil on a Los Feliz pad that is just 1.5 miles away from her scorned ex.

RPatz kicked KStew out  in July after photos surfaced that showed pretty clearly ... she was banging her married "Snow White" director Rupert Sanders.

Stewart's new home gave her easy access to R.P. -- it's a 5 minute car ride.

If the break-up was real ... her plan may have worked, because KStew and RPatz have been seen TWICE together in L.A. -- once at a local bar and again yesterday in Hollywood.

As for her house, according to Real Estalker it's pretty sweet ... 4-bedrooms, 5-baths, pool, spa, fire pits, sun terrace -- the works.

The question now ... Will one of their homes go up for sale?

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart continued their public display of forgiveness ... hanging out together for lunch in Hollywood.

Rob and Kristen were spotted leaving a restaurant with a group of friends Monday afternoon -- never holding hands ... but standing mere feet from each other.

This was the 2nd time in 24 hours they were seen together around L.A. ... just 3 months after Kristen admitted cheating with director Rupert Sanders -- but, even more telling, exactly one month before the release of the last "Twilight" movie. Hmm ...

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were at an L.A. restaurant last night, exactly 1 month to the day before "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" premieres ... and it's feeling like a total set-up.

The two had drinks at Ye Rustic Inn in a hipster area of Los Feliz. There was enough of a crowd to ensure someone was going to notice.

So here's the question. Did they honestly repair their relationship and the timing is purely coincidental? Are they really NOT together but doing it for the movie? Or were they always together and the "split" was all PR BS?

So we gotta ask ...

Screw Kristen Stewart ... ROB PATTINSON HAS A NEW GIRLFRIEND -- at least that's one possible explanation for photos that just surfaced ... showing the "Twilight" actor chatting up a hot chick at a bar.

The photos were snapped Saturday night at the Electric Room bar in NYC -- and according to sources inside the establishment, Rob cozied up with the mystery blonde for hours ... even putting his arm around her at one point.

There are reports Rob and Kristen have reconciled following her cheating scandal earlier this year with "Snow White and The Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders -- but these photos might be the smoking gun that proves otherwise!!!!

Then again, they might not.
