Justin Timberlake Got the Time? Yup, Super Bowl Halftime Show!

10/22/2017 5:19 PM PDT
Breaking News

Justin Timberlake is coming back to conquer the Super Bowl halftime show this year ... according to Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon

JT posted a vid Sunday that confirmed reports he was performing at Super Bowl LII, with his and Jimmy's mini skit playing on the phrase "have the time" ... which quickly morphed into "You're doing the halftime show at the Super Bowl??!!"

As we reported ... the rest of 'NSYNC could possibly join Justin onstage during his performance, which seems even likelier now that he's definitely got the gig.

Can't say the same for Janet Jackson, though. She was recently mum on rumors about a possible reunion, ya know ... after 2004 and all.

We got this feeling ... there probably ain't gonna be a next time.

Hines Ward Roethlisberger's Not Retiring Soon ... 'Plenty Left in the Tank'

10/22/2017 12:45 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Hines Ward is calling BS on all that Ben Roethlisberger retirement talk ... saying his old QB still has "plenty left in the tank" -- enough to win a Super Bowl.

Big Ben admitted he contemplated hangin' 'em up after the 2016 season -- but decided to come back. Then there was the "maybe I don't have it anymore" comment earlier this month.

But Ward ain't buyin' any of that retirement garbage -- telling TMZ Sports #7 is still a championship-caliber player, period.

Speaking of QB's ... we also asked Ward about Colin Kaepernick ... and he names a list of teams that could use his skills right now.

Jemele Hill 'I Deserved That Suspension' ... Not Mad at ESPN

10/21/2017 8:16 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Jemele Hill is breaking her silence -- telling TMZ Sports she doesn't blame ESPN for hitting her with a 2-week suspension over anti-Jerry Jones tweets saying ... "I put ESPN in a bad spot."

Hill was put in the penalty box for encouraging people upset with Jerry Jones' national anthem policy to boycott his sponsors. ESPN claimed her comment was a violation of the network's social media policy. Several of Hill's coworkers, celebrities, athletes and activists spoke out against ESPN ... and Hill says she appreciates all the support, but believes she was treated fairly by the network.

"I deserved a suspension," Hill told us at LAX ... "I violated the policy. Going forward we'll be in a good, healthy place."

As for her public statements against Donald Trump ... Hill says she won't take back what she said -- but she regrets putting her show in a bad position. She's moving forward with ESPN, saying ... "I don't feel suppressed. I love ESPN as much as ever. I am okay. I feel good."

We spoke with Hill about a ton of stuff -- which you can see in the raw video below.

Jemele says she will return to work on Monday.

Colin Kaepernick His Silence Is Strategic ... Says Pastor T.D. Jakes

10/21/2017 12:15 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Colin Kaepernick still hasn't taken the podium to address the NFL national anthem protests, and that's OK -- so says famous TV pastor T.D. Jakes.

Since he's an expert public speaker, we asked T.D. if now's the time for Kaep to break his silence ... and the pastor told us Colin didn't need his advice -- 'cause he knows exactly what he's doing.

"I'm sure he has a plan and a strategy, and I'm sure he's gonna work that."

FYI, Donald Trump came hard after Kaep this month ... saying the QB shoulda been suspended as soon as he took his first knee.

Marshawn Lynch Goes Beast Mode On Train 'F**K Tha Chiefs'

10/20/2017 7:16 AM PDT

Here's Marshawn Lynch proving an ejection on national TV can't take the Beast out of his soul, leading an Oakland train on an explicit (yet awesome) chant dissing the rival Chiefs, moments after the game.

BTW, the guy who started the fight that led to Lynch's ejection, Chiefs player Marcus Peters -- a close friend of Lynch -- was ON THE TRAIN with Marshawn getting the business.

Marshawn got booted from the Thursday night's contest for making contact with an official during the fight, then snuck into the stands to watch the game with the people (not joking).

At some point in the night Lynch & Peters took the BART public transit system, and led all the Oakland faithful in a "F**k The Chiefs" chant to celebrate the team's much needed last second win.

Not sure what Marshawn's penalty from the league will be just yet, but we are sure about one thing...

He doesn't care.

NFL's Brandon Browner Secretly Busted for Coke In May

10/20/2017 12:40 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Ex-Seattle Seahawks star Brandon Browner was arrested for cocaine in L.A. back in May and was hauled to the station for a shirtless mug shot ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The La Verne Police Dept. has confirmed 33-year-old Browner was arrested on May 25 at 7:04 AM after cops say he was in possession of a controlled substance and under the influence.

Our law enforcement sources tell us the substance in question is cocaine.

We're told the former Pro Bowl cornerback -- an original member of the Legion of Boom -- was released a few hours after his arrest.

Just a few months later, Browner was arrested again for allegedly making criminal threats against a woman.

We've made multiple attempts to contact Browner -- so far, no word back.

O'Shea Jackson Hayward Bit By 'Celtic Luck' ... Shoulda Chose Lakers

10/19/2017 7:35 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

O'Shea Jackson Jr. says there's one way Gordon Hayward could've avoided that gruesome bone-snapping leg injury this week -- "Should've been a Laker."

"I feel bad for Gordon Hayward," the "Straight Outta Compton" star told us on the way out of Delilah in West Hollywood ... "but that's that Celtic luck!"

Ouch.

Don't worry, there's more -- Cube's son also pledges allegiance to the Ball family, hollers at some chicks and says the best player in the NBA is still Kobe Bryant. It's pretty funny.

And don't miss the parting shot at Danny Ainge.

Ex-NFLer Gerald Sensabaugh I'm Lawyerin' Up!! After Suspended From H.S. Coach Gig

10/19/2017 12:35 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Ex-Dallas Cowboys safety Gerald Sensabaugh tells TMZ Sports he wants to sue the Tennessee high school that put him on administrative leave ... claiming allegations he violated school policies are BS.

Sensabaugh -- who played 8 seasons in the league -- was in his first year as head coach of the David Crockett H.S. football team (and doing well) when things suddenly took a turn.

School officials fired off 2 letters to Gerald claiming he was using foul language in front of players and had unsafely forced an injured player to practice. He was placed on administrative leave on Oct. 10.

But Gerald says none of the allegations are true -- and claims school officials only turned on him after he started blowing the whistle about concerning classroom conditions and disappearing monetary funds.

Sensabaugh -- who made millions in the NFL -- says the job was never about money ... he was genuinely trying to make an impact on the kids and feels he got screwed by the administration.

Now, he's looking for a lawyer to sue the school district to clear his name so he can get back to helping  kids.

As for the school, officials say they are still investigating Sensabaugh and he'll remain on leave until the investigation is concluded.

Chris Webber NBA Has More Freedom Than NFL 'We Get to Speak Our Minds'

10/18/2017 2:57 PM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Chris Webber is praising the way the NBA handles social issues -- while throwing shade at the NFL -- saying basketball players have WAY MORE freedom to express themselves than football players.

"We talk about Eric Garner and Trayvon Martin and see guys wearing 'I Can't Breathe' shirts on the court," Webber says ... "We get to speak our minds."

Webber says NBA superstars like LeBron James have been praised for using the basketball court as a platform to speak out ... while NFL players like Colin Kaepernick get crushed.

"It is a privilege and a blessing to be in the NBA ... not the NFL."

Joe Theismann Gordon Hayward's Injury Gave Me Flashbacks

10/18/2017 1:39 PM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Joe Theismann says watching Gordon Hayward's leg snap during NBA's opening night took him right back to 1985 ... an eerie reminder of that fateful encounter with Lawrence Taylor.

Of course, LT snapped Theismann's leg live on "Monday Night Football" -- essentially ending Joe's career. It remains one of the most gruesome injuries of all time.

Theismann tells TMZ Sports he really does understand Hayward's pain -- and feels terrible every time he watches a similar injury on TV.

The good news ... Theismann says he's optimistic Hayward can recover and go on to have a strong career in the NBA -- as long as he follows two important rules.

A-Rod & Mark Cuban Best 'Shark Tank' Partners Ever ... Says Gronk Bro

10/18/2017 11:07 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

They're not just money partners, Alex Rodriguez and Mark Cuban have been actively mentoring Chris Gronkowski ever since making a deal for his Shaker Cup Company on "Shark Tank."

Chris -- supported by Rob Gronkowski and the rest of his musclebound bros -- sold 15% of his Ice Shaker biz to A-Rod and Mark for $150k on Sunday's show (which was taped months ago).

TMZ Sports spoke with Chris (who also played in the NFL) to find out how his new business partners are REALLY like to work with off camera ... and it sounds AWESOME!

"It's a dream," Gronk says ... explaining that both sharks are extremely accessible to him and usually email back within 10 mins when he's got a question.

But it wasn't all sunshine and roses on the show -- Chris says one of the sharks he turned down gave him TERRIBLE advice ... and he's definitely putting her on blast now!

Eagles Star Chris Long Donating 2017 NFL Salary ... to Youth Education

10/18/2017 7:23 AM PDT
Breaking News

Eagles star Chris Long is droppin' a fat stack of cash on youth education in America ... pledging his entire 2017 NFL base salary -- an even $1 MIL -- to various initiatives.

Long just announced that his last 10 game checks will go to 4 organizations supporting educational equality ... after donating his first 6 checks to college scholarships in his hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia.

"I think we can all agree that equity in education can help affect change that we all want to see in this country," Chris told The AP.

"We have such a great platform as football players and hopefully fans get behind it."

If this sounds familiar, it's probably 'cause Colin Kaepernick also made a million-dollar pledge last year ... donating $1 mil of his NFL money to "organizations working in oppressed communities."

Respect.

Eric Dickerson O.J. Simpson Called Me to Play Golf

10/18/2017 6:41 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Didn't take long for O.J. Simpson to reach out to his old NFL pals -- he called Eric Dickerson THE NIGHT he was released from prison ... this according to the Hall of Famer himself.

"He's good. He's really good," Dickerson told TMZ Sports ... "He's trying to get me to hang out with him."

Dickerson and Simpson were pretty tight before O.J. got locked up and have remained friendly throughout the years.

E.D. says O.J. has already invited him out to Vegas for a round of golf -- and while he's not ready to hit the links with Juice just yet ... sounds like it's just a matter of time.
