Paramount was threatening to bolt California just days ago ... but now it sounds like it reached a settlement that could save its massive Warner Bros. Discovery takeover and keep the studio rooted in place.

Bloomberg reports Paramount Skydance struck a deal with California and the other states suing to block the $110 billion merger. The agreement is expected to be announced Monday.

TMZ broke the news last week ... Paramount had told California officials "we're done" and was prepared to leave the state before the two sides suddenly got back to negotiating.

Patrick Clancy is expecting his first child with new wife Rachel Danis, years after he lost his 3 children with first wife and their alleged killer, Lindsay Clancy.

Patrick and Rachel sat down for an interview with "60 Minutes" to discuss their reaction to Lindsay's murder trial gaining such wide public attention, and interviewer Ross Douthat hinted at the couple starting a family ... but he's now clarifying what he meant was Rachel is pregnant.

Douthat joined "CBS Mornings" Monday and told show host Nate Burleson plainly, "They are having a child" ... confirming the couple is soon to be parents.

Kristi Noem is showing off the spoils of a recent hunting trip ... posing with a massive elk she says she took down with a bow.

The former Homeland Security Secretary posted several photos on social media showing her kneeling behind the animal, with her bow resting across the dead elk's body.

Noem says she "finally had a little time" to share pics from the archery hunt ... calling it "super fun" and thanking a bunch of guy friends for helping make it happen.

Presley Gerber's penultimate Instagram post now reads like a gut punch ... with Cindy Crawford's son saying he hoped a frightening treatment experience would be the last one he'd ever need.

Rep. Lauren Boebert is unloading on the media over coverage of wild allegations she hooked up with three staffers and made a hush-money payment ... blasting journalists for falling for what she calls a bogus smear.

The Colorado congresswoman posted a video Sunday ripping reporters who covered the complaint ... saying some outlets rushed to publish the salacious claims without bothering to check whether the ethics complaint could actually move forward.

Boebert says the complaint was dressed up to look official enough to generate headlines ... but she says simple research would show no member of Congress signed off on the complaint, and the timing of the filing -- within 60 days of an election -- means the Ethics Committee can't even accept it.

There were no drugs or alcohol involved in the deadly car crash that killed "Godzilla vs. Kong" actress Kaylee Hottle ... at least as far as the driver is concerned.

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office tells TMZ ... the 19-year-old driver's drug test results came back clean, with no drugs or alcohol detected.

As TMZ previously reported, Kaylee was killed in July after the Honda Accord she was riding in veered off the road and crashed into a ditch in Maryland. Investigators said excessive speed was believed to be a factor.

Taylor Swift made sure everyone in the world knew who her husband is -- after Travis Kelce scored his first TD of the season during Sunday night's Kansas City Chiefs-Indianapolis Colts game.

In the first quarter, Taylor and her dad, Scott Swift, were watching the game from the Kelce suite at Arrowhead Stadium in KC when Travis -- the Chiefs' tight end -- caught a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes and ran 13 yards into the end zone for the touchdown.

In Sunday's wide-ranging interview ... Patrick said during his son's final moments in the hospital, he told him he was sorry.

Patrick told CBS' Ross Douthat ... "I said 'I'm so sorry,' and I got to hold him, I got to lay down next to him. And he died in my arms."

Carrot Top is awake and breathing on his own as he remains hospitalized following his suicide attempt ... TMZ has learned.

A rep for Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, exclusively tells TMZ ... "Scott remains hospitalized and under close medical care. He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him."

The rep adds that in addition to joking around with the "medical staff caring for him," Carrot Top has also taken the time to read the "many messages from fans" that have been shared with him.

The lead guitarist and founding member of New Found Glory, Chad Gilbert, has died ... his band announced.

The band shared the sad news with their fans on Instagram Sunday ... and said they were "devastated and shocked" by his passing.

They wrote ... "On the morning of September 20th, Chad Everett Gilbert passed away peacefully in his sleep. He left this world surrounded by friends and family and took his final breaths with his wife and mother by his side, just as he wished."

The talks surrounding Paramount's anti-trust case are splitting state officials at the bargaining table into two factions -- deal and no deal.

The studio is trying to settle the case brought against the entertainment giant by 12 states as it tries to push forward its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. Now, a new report claims there's no consensus among the states involved.

Despite many in the entertainment industry -- including Mark Ruffalo -- urging California AG Rob Bonta not to reach a settlement over the merger, Bonta is apparently trying to push the deal through ... this according to CNN.
