A Christmas tree lighting ceremony in North Carolina turned into a bullet festival when 2 gunmen exchanged gunfire, injuring 4 people -- including themselves, according to police.

The bullets started flying Friday night at the holiday event in Concord, NC, where locals -- among them young children -- had gathered for the festivities along with the assailants, identified as Nasir Ahmad Bostic and an unnamed juvenile, cops said.

Police say the gun-wielding suspects pumped each other full of lead, while also shooting two other people. The injured were rushed to a hospital, where Bostic, the juvenile and a 17-year-old were listed in critical condition. A fourth person, also 17, was treated and released from the hospital.

A woman -- crowned one of Alabama's teachers of the year -- is in hot water with the law after allegedly whipping the s**t out of her child with a belt on video.

Nicole Staples -- who teaches second grade at Cottage Hill Christian Academy in Mobile -- was charged Wednesday with willful abuse of a child under 18, according to the county Sheriff's Office.

The video is startling ... Staples appears to hit her adolescent son on the backside upwards of 20 times after hurling a flurry of curses at him for not cleaning up after himself. She appears to grab him by the hair before seeming to smack him again.

Patrick Beverley won't be appearing on Barstool platforms anytime soon -- Dave Portnoy just revealed the former NBA player is "taking forced time away" following his arrest for felony assault.

The Barstool Sports founder explained his employee's status during "The Unnamed Show" on Wednesday ... saying Beverley -- who has a the "Hoopin' N Hollerin'" podcast with the company -- has "gotta figure all this out."

"We'll let the facts play out," Portnoy said. "Certainly, with what is hanging there, we can't have him be part of what we're doing right now, and we got to see how it settles, but this is horrible."

D4vd is viewed as a suspect in the death of Celeste Rivas, the teenager who was found decomposing in his Tesla ... law enforcement sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ.

As far as we know, there is no paperwork classifying D4vd as a suspect, but as one of our sources told us ... "Investigators are looking at D4vd as a suspect."

We're also told they're viewing Celeste's death as a homicide, even though the Medical Examiner has yet to determine cause or manner of death -- investigators are still awaiting toxicology results.

Jack Doherty is spilling on his Miami arrest ... telling TMZ the whole thing was so mind-numbingly boring, he’s actually calling it the worst day of his life.

The embattled influencer tells TMZ it was a brutal slog -- first stuck in a tiny cell with a cop for five hours, then shuffled off for a mugshot and fingerprints ... before spending another 10 hours in a big holding room where he could finally make some calls.

The day didn’t even end there ... the 22-year-old says he got thrown into yet another cell, took a nap, and then got jolted awake by guards who, he claims, were super nice -- even telling him TMZ had already posted his mugshot -- before letting him finally go.

Famous YouTuber and content creator Jack Doherty has been arrested in the Miami area, TMZ can confirm.

He was cuffed by Miami Beach Police outside a smoke shop and booked into Florida's Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center just before 9 AM on 3 charges -- possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.

Specifically, cops say he was in possession of Amphetamine -- a medication used to manage ADHD and narcolepsy -- and less than 20 grams of weed.

Video of his arrest shows him arguing with police.

Jack Doherty was more worried about his bling than he was about heading down to the local jail ... begging cops to let him give his watch to a friend while they were slapping cuffs on him.

We've obtained footage from Jack's Saturday morning arrest ... and it kicks off with Doherty stopping next to a police car and getting searched in the middle of the street.

His friends are filming the interaction ... but they're quickly moved aside by cops who tell them they can step onto the curb or step into a pair of handcuffs just like Doherty. Unsurprisingly, they all choose the sidewalk.

5:15 PM PT -- Patrick Beverley has spoken out since news broke of his arrest, saying via social media ... "Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet. Hope all is well LUV."

Letitia Quinones-Hollins, attorney for Patrick, tells TMZ in a statement ... "Patrick Beverley has no criminal record. He cares deeply about his little sister – a young lady, a minor. Given that, when he unexpectedly found her alone in the home with an 18-year-old man in the middle of the night, he was understandably concerned, as any brother would be about his sister. However, we don’t believe what followed happened the way it’s been described and we look forward to the opportunity to address that in court."

Ex-NBA player Patrick Beverly has been arrested in Texas for felony assault, TMZ Sports has learned.

The 6'2" point guard was taken into custody on Friday at the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office in Richmond, Texas.

According to jail records, the charge against Beverley is Assault on a Family Member/Household Member Impeding Breath or Circulation. It's listed as a third-degree felony.

WhistlinDiesel -- a YouTuber with more than 10 million followers -- has been arrested for tax evasion ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the star -- whose real name is Cody Detwiler -- was arrested Wednesday afternoon and booked into Williamson County Jail in Franklin, Tennessee. He bonded out of jail later in the day.

According to the indictment, obtained by TMZ, WhistlinDiesel is facing two felony counts of tax evasion related to the sales tax owed on a 2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo, apparently purchased in January 2023.

Top-10 BYU might be without one of its starters against No. 3 UConn on Saturday -- Kennard Davis Jr. was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Thursday.

Davis was involved in a crash in Provo, Utah minutes before noon. During an investigation into the wreck, responding officers had cause to arrest him for suspected DUI.

20-year-old Davis was taken to the police station for further investigation ... and after he was cited with DUI charges and released, he was treated for minor injuries.

Britton Shackelford -- a professional fisherman who has appeared on a spin-off of the hit show "Wicked Tuna" -- has been arrested for animal cruelty ... according to authorities in North Carolina.

The boat captain was arrested last week after the Dare County Sheriff's Office said they got a call about a missing animal.

After investigating, authorities determined Shackelford was "involved in the incident and discharged a firearm, resulting in the death of the animal." Sheriff's deputies arrested the 57-year-old for felony cruelty to animals and an additional misdemeanor charge.

Akon never should've been arrested, his team claims ... blaming the whole misunderstanding on a records-keeping issue.

A representative for the singer-songwriter tells us Akon already paid for the suspended license which resulted in his arrest ... but, the payment wasn't entered into the system properly.

We're told this clerical error -- a big one, if true -- will be rectified by the courts at Akon's hearing in early December.

10:27 AM PT -- Akon was busted because he had a bench warrant issued for failure to appear for a suspended license ... according to new legal docs obtained by TMZ.

Cops say it all started back in September, when Akon was driving a Tesla Cybertruck in Georgia. Police say they were on patrol when they spotted a Cybertruck stranded in the middle of the road ... they say Akon was the driver and he told cops the battery died.

Police say they called a tow truck to move the Cybertuck and while waiting, the officer says he discovered Akon's license was suspended for a failure to appear from back in January 2023. Cops say Akon was issued a citation for driving while his license was suspended and released from the scene.

The officer also noted in the report, "An illegal vape in the center console was seized during the inventory and submitted for destruction."

Kanye West is currently on a repentance tour for his past antisemitic comments ... but the São Paulo State Prosecutor’s Office in Brazil is giving him a stern warning not to entertain Nazism one bit -- or be thrown in jail!!!

Ye is scheduled to perform there on Nov. 29, but a complaint was filed with a prosecutor's office Tuesday with strict orders to arrest the hip hop megastar if he performs his track, "Heil Hitler."

Councilwoman Cris Monteiro is leading the political charge against Ye with the complaint, and prosecutor Ana Beatriz Pereira de Souza Frontini issued a ruling prohibiting swastika T-shirts or Nazi symbolism of any kind.

São Paulo's mayor said police will arrest Ye or anyone "who makes any apology for Nazism" -- as in, anyone who justifies the fascist ideology. Police will have a team of officers on standby just in case things go haywire. Ye and his team could be charged with crimes of racism and collective moral damages.

The promoters of the show -- Guilherme Cavalcante and Jean Fabrício Ramos -- also face arrest for omission should Ye not fully comply.

After begging the cops for months to arrest him — yes, you heard that right! — Chicago rapper Adamn Killa finally got his wish this week ... sort of.

Chicago PD officers cuffed and detained Killa on Monday after he interceded in a police traffic stop Downtown while telling cops to "arrest me, Daddy," according to the Chicago Sun Times. Killa was reportedly placed in a police vehicle for 20 minutes before he was set free without being charged. He then jumped on Instagram and posted video of his detainment.

The back story on Killa — whose real name is Adam Kelly — should come as no surprise. Over the past several months, Killa has been filmed walking up to cops, leaning over with his butt out, and demanding to be arrested with his customary phrase, "Arrest me, daddy." He also clutches his hands together and sometimes does a little dance in the videos, which have gone viral.
