The actor's smash-hit series, "Baby Reindeer," draws from his real-life encounters with a female stalker -- who goes by the name Martha in the show to shield the actual person's identity -- and fans have been doing their own deep dives in trying to dox the real McCoy.

Internet sleuths have gone down the rabbit hole trying to unmask Martha's real identity, as well as other characters -- including one featured in the show who's depicted as grooming/raping Gadd ... which has led to one particular man being falsely implicated.

Comedian Elayne Boosler says she was handcuffed and nearly thrown in the slammer after showing up to the Dodger game on Sunday ... claiming the whole debacle that led to her arrest was centered around a handbag.

The 71-year-old writer broke down her side of things following the alleged incident ... saying she wanted to check out the Dodgers' matinee matchup against the New York Mets, but was stopped by (in her opinion) a power-hungry stadium security guard over her baseball-themed purse.

Boosler said she was refused entry because the item didn't meet the venue's clear bag policy ... and she was told she could either take it back to her car, or throw it away.

4:25 PM PT -- A representative for Katt Williams tells TMZ ... the show was actually only cut off about five minutes early -- so, the Indianapolis audience didn't miss too much of the show.

We're also told Katt's team believes it's the venue's policy to turn on the lights as the show's ending ... and not directly related to the brawl.

Katt Williams' recent show didn't end with a standing ovation ... instead, it finished with bloody fans exiting the building -- 'cause a brawl apparently halted the set.

The comedian/actor hit the stage at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis Saturday night ... but, it seems about partway through the stand-up, a fight broke out in the stands, and it brought everything to a stop.

Sandra was part of an iconic cast including Roseanne Barr as the loving but sarcastic mother, Roseanne Conner and John Goodman as the comical and loving father, Dan Conner.
