The Final Five must be really attached to their shiny new hardware after dominating the all-around gymnastics finals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio ... 'cause when a fire alarm went off in their building on Wednesday, they made sure to snatch their medals before evacuating.

"The fire alarm's going off ... but we got our gold!" Biles said as she documented the situation on Snapchat.

It turned out to be a false alarm and the girls -- and their medals -- are alright.

Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, DeAndre Jordan, DeMarcus Cousins and Kyle Lowry dropped in on Phelps and the USA swim team after the 4x200 freestyle relay.

It makes sense they'd chill ... the USA hoopers were GOING GRAZY in the stands after Phelps won his 20th gold ... showing some real deal American pride.

To be fair we're proud of everyone in the photo ... especially Draymond for keeping his clothes on.

Team USA gymnastics superstar Gabby Douglas says she never meant any disrespect by not placing her hand over her heart during the national anthem Tuesday ... saying, "I apologize if I offended anyone."

Finally, McKayla Maroney IS impressed -- telling TMZ Sports she loves the new Michael Phelps death stare meme ... and says it takes her spot as the BEST Olympic funny face.

Of course, Maroney became a viral LEGEND back in 2012 thanks to the whole "not impressed" thing -- so, we had to hit her up to get her take on the new Phelps pic taking the Internet by storm.

"I now see why people thought (the memes were) so funny," Maroney says.

"Somebody tweeted like, 'McKayla looks like somebody took your spot' ... and I looked at his pictures and was like YES! Go Michael, take it away please!"

Looks like she got her wish!

The biological mother of Team USA gymnast Simone Biles says she's clean, sober and has a loving relationship with her daughter ... and is sick of being painted as an addict.

Simone's story is pretty well-known ... she was put in foster care when she was 2 because her mother struggled with substance abuse. Simone was eventually adopted by her grandparents.

TMZ Sports spoke with Shanon Biles who says she's been sober since 2007 -- and is proud of the fact she reestablished her relationship with Simone.

Shanon says she does have a beef with her father -- saying he was insensitive about the way he described her battle with addiction during an interview with NBC.

"He could have been more classy about it."

As for Simone, Shanon says she's incredibly proud of her daughter and has supported her for years -- in fact, she showed us a pic of the two of them with Gabby Douglas back in 2014.

"I just want to say I love you Simone ... I'm so proud of you! Go Team USA and I'll talk to you and see you when I can!"

A rep for the Israeli national team says the actions by the Lebanese delegation to block Team Israel athletes from getting on a bus Friday were driven by "hostility and anti-Semitic behavior."

Austin Rivers got the big ol' stamp of approval from his dad and coach -- with Doc Rivers saying he's cool with the NBA star's brand new $300,000 Ferrari!

As we previously reported, Austin splurged on the Ferrari F12Berlinetta right around the time he inked his brand new $35 MILLION contract with the Clippers last month.

So, when we saw Doc at Craig's in L.A. Monday night -- we asked if he was worried about his son/star player behind the wheel of a car with a top speed of over 200 MPH!!

We also asked about Team USA -- and Doc told us who their biggest competition will be.

The International Olympic Committee says it has investigated a heated bus incident between Lebanese and Israeli athletes ... and "consider the matter closed."

Both sides acknowledged that Israeli athletes were blocked from boarding an Olympic bus filled with Lebanese athletes headed to the stadium on Friday for opening ceremonies.

Team Israel says they tried to board the bus per instructions from Olympic organizers but the Lebanese team physically blocked the door and refused to let them on. The Israeli team suggested it was politically motivated. The two countries are at war and have no diplomatic relations.

Team Lebanon says the bus was reserved for them and they had the right to prevent another team from getting on.

Team Israel eventually boarded another bus and got to the stadium.

We reached out to the IOC and asked if there were plans to separate the delegations moving forward.

The response -- "We spoke to both National Olympic Committees and they told us they consider the matter closed."

Ryan Lochte's already a big winner in Rio -- because his hot Playboy Playmate girlfriend flew out to Brazil to hang with the Team USA swimmer.

Lochte's lady is Kayla Rae Reid -- a Playboy model who's been connected to Lochte for several months.

Our sources say the two have been dating since March -- but things got serious in April when he posted the first pic of the two of them together on social media. Since then, she's met his family and things seem to be going well.

Kayla is currently in Rio with Lochte -- the two were acting all coupley at the Beats House over the weekend.

Lochte is only competing in one event (the men's 200 individual medley) and that goes down on Wednesday. Other than that, the two have plenty of time for a couple's vacation.

As if it couldn't get any worse for French Gymnast Samir Ait Said ... after breaking his leg dismounting from the vault, paramedics dropped him while he lay on the stretcher.

The gymnast underwent surgery Saturday and says he wants to try again in 2020.

We'll be watching.

The U.S. Men's and Women's Soccer Teams are now guinea pigs for Zika prevention ... at least if a repellent company has its way.

Several Team USA hoops stars made a bonehead move in a foreign land -- thinking they were walking into a spa that turned out to be a whorehouse.

DeAndre Jordan, DeMarcus "Boogie" Cousins, DeMar Derozan and possibly 3 other players went out on the town Wednesday night in Rio and strolled into Termas Monte Carlo ... which Rolling Stone called "one of the high end brothels in Rio."

When you call the place, they'll tell you it's a spa that plays music ... and it's just for male customers. Oh, and they have a full bar.

A source close to the team tells us the players got the standard line, so they assumed it was kosher. The source said, "They realized it wasn't the right place for them and immediately left."

As for what happened inside, the players were only seen hanging at the bar. Multiple sources tell us they bought booze ... nothing more.
