Debbie Reynolds Singin' In The Gains Death Causes Spike In Sales, Searches

Debbie Reynolds' movies are back on top again in the wake of her death ... and numbers don't lie.

Debbie's biggest films have jumped in the ranks on platforms like Amazon and iTunes, with her best known flick, "Singin' in the Rain," sitting pretty at #1 on Amazon's best sellers list as of Thursday.

The same movie was nowhere near that position as of Wednesday night.

Other Debbie movies have climbed the ladder as well -- "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" and a "Tammy and the Bachelor" triple feature pack are both among the top 4 best selling DVDs on Amazon.

Meanwhile, Debbie's films have suddenly been moved to iTunes' New and Noteworthy list since her passing ... even though the movies are at least 20 years old.

Carrie Fisher isn't being left out of the surge either. The film "Postcards from the Edge," based on her memoir about Debbie and Carrie's relationship, has also bumped up in iTunes' charts.

BTW ... a rep from YouTube also tells us any clips with "Singin' in the Rain" have shot up in searches by 1000% between Wednesday and Thursday. Yup, you read that right.

Carrie Fisher Autopsy on Hold

Carrie Fisher's body is in limbo right now ... because the L.A. County Coroner is not sure how to proceed ... TMZ has learned.

The double tragedy has had a rippling effect ... complicating funeral plans. Family sources tell us when Carrie died the Coroner contacted her daughter, Billie, for permission to conduct an autopsy because she's the next of kin. We're told Billie -- who was distraught -- deferred authority to her dad, CAA honcho Bryan Lourd.

The family sources tell us their attorneys contacted the Coroner and expressed some concerns about moving forward, though they would not be specific. We do know families often contact the Coroner and ask that they not perform an autopsy, often for religious reasons.

We're told for now the Coroner is just waiting. In addition to the autopsy, the Coroner needs to know about what happened on the United jet when Carrie's heart just stopped beating, what meds she was on and her medical history ... in order to determine cause of death.

We're told when Debbie died Wednesday ... it threw the entire family into chaos and it has further complicated the manner in which Carrie's body will be handled.

Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher Dual Funeral in the Works

Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher will have a joint funeral if some members of the family have their way ... TMZ has learned.

Close family members are meeting now to discuss funeral plans, and family sources tell us the sentiment is for a dual service.

It makes sense. TMZ broke the story, Debbie told her son Wednesday shortly before she was stricken with a stroke, "I miss her so much. I want to be with Carrie." One family member tells TMZ, "I think this is what they would have wanted" ... meaning a joint funeral.

We're told the family is leaning toward a private, small ceremony and a much larger second memorial service.

We're told they expect to make a decision today.

Rashaan Salaam Cause of Death Ruled 'Suicide' (Update)

8:31 AM PT -- Officials have also released the autopsy report which show Salaam's blood alcohol level was 3 times the legal limit when they found his body.

Officials also note Salaam tested positive for THC -- the key ingredient in marijuana.

The report says Salaam had a history of depression and "recent life stressors."

Salaam's body was found next to his girlfriend's car ... along with a handwritten note and $63 in cash.

Rashaan Salaam died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head ... and his official cause of death is now listed as "suicide" ... this according to the Boulder County Coroner's Office.

The former Heisman Trophy winner was found dead at a park near the University of Colorado on Dec. 5 ... and though all signs pointed to suicide, officials would not release the cause of death until their investigation was complete.

Cops had previously said a gun was found near Salaam's body.

Officials are hoping to prevent tragedies like this moving forward and encourage anyone who may have suicidal thoughts to call the Colorado Crisis Service (1-844-493-TALK) for support.

Salaam was 42.

Fans gathered at Downtown Disney Wednesday night in Anaheim, CA and paid a touching tribute to Princess Leia.

Carrie died Tuesday after suffering a massive heart attack.

Ex-NFL Safety Keion Carpenter Dies After Coma During Family Vacation

Ex-NFL player Keion Carpenter -- who played for the Bills and Falcons -- died Thursday morning after a medical emergency during a workout earlier this week ... a family spokesperson confirmed.

39-year-old Carpenter -- a standout player at Virginia Tech in the late '90s -- was was on a family vacation when something went horribly wrong.

His cousin told the Baltimore Sun, "They were running to the car when (Carpenter) slipped, fell, hit his head and slipped into a coma. It was just a freak accident."

The family issued a statement moments ago confirming his death.

"It is with regret that we as a family announce that at 6:47 am Keion Eric Carpenter was pronounced dead , at Jackson South Community Hospital in Miami, Florida."

"Keion collapsed while on a family vacation and remained in a coma for 24 hours. Keion('s) remains will be flown back to Baltimore for burial."

Carpenter's college coach Frank Beamer released a statement, saying "Keion was one of the rocks around which we built our program at Virginia Tech in the 1990s. He was a tenacious punt blocker and a relentless player on defense.

"More importantly, he had a heart of gold. His work with The Carpenter House and other charitable organizations to help those in need truly embodied the Virginia Tech Spirit."

Joe McKnight will be on the Trojans' minds when USC takes the field against Penn State on Monday ... with team captain Zach Banner telling TMZ Sports they're dedicating the game to the late alum.

The USC football team was at The Improv comedy club in West Hollywood Tuesday night when we spoke with the NFL-bound right tackle about McKnight, who was killed on Dec. 1st.

McKnight played for the Trojans from 2007 to 2009 ... and clearly meant a lot to the program.

Debbie Reynolds Flowers Fill Her Hollywood Stars While Carrie's Shrine Grows

Flowers now lace Debbie Reynolds' 2 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame ... and her daughter's makeshift shrine proves to be just as much of an attraction.

We got photos of Debbie's stars on Hollywood Blvd. -- 1 for film and 1 for her stage work -- where more roses have been collected around her Live Theater honor as of Thursday morning.

Debbie was nominated for a Tony Award for her role in the Broadway show "Irene" ... and went on to star in multiple productions thereafter. She was also, of course, a huge movie star.

Meanwhile, Carrie Fisher's own fan-created Hollywood star has become flooded with flowers itself after she passed away first this Tuesday. As we reported ... it'll stick around for now.

Debbie died just one day later at the age of 84.

Carrie Fisher Princess Leia's Worth 3X More

Carrie Fisher's name -- and her Princess Leia mug -- will be worth light years more in death than life.

Mike Gutierrez, who helps run Heritage Auctions, tells TMZ Carrie's death has boosted 'Star Wars' merch sales related to the late actress by as much as 3 times what it was just last week.

Gutierrez says 'Star Wars' merch prices will skyrocket even higher in the next 30 days. The same phenomena occurred when the last actors from "The Wizard of Oz" passed away.

The impact is already apparent. A signed photo of Leia and Luke Skywalker just sold for $1,500 Tuesday ... the day Carrie died. A signed pic of Leia, Han Solo and Luke sold for $156 in '02.

According to eBay ... 1,280 Carrie fisher memorabilia items have been sold since Tuesday ... a huge jump from the couple dozen or so that were selling before her death.

Debbie Reynolds Last Words ... 'I Want to Be with Carrie'

Debbie Reynolds seemingly willed her own death Wednesday, telling her son before the stroke that claimed her life, "I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie."

Todd Fisher tells us Debbie cracked early Wednesday morning from grief. She was at Todd's home during the morning hours, talking about Carrie's funeral, when she made the comment. Fifteen minutes later she had the stroke.

Family sources tell us Debbie actually had several strokes this year and was in failing health, and they believe Carrie's death was too much to bear.

Debbie Reynolds -- who rose to stardom in "Singin' in the Rain" and quickly became a staple among Hollywood royalty -- died Wednesday as a result of a stroke, TMZ has learned ... just one day after her daughter Carrie Fisher passed away ... this according to her son Todd.

Debbie was rushed to a hospital shortly after 1 PM when someone at the Beverly Hills home of her son, Todd, called 911 to report a possible stroke. We're told Debbie and Todd were making funeral plans for Carrie, who died Tuesday of cardiac arrest.

Debbie famously divorced Eddie Fisher in 1959 after his affair with Elizabeth Taylor. Debbie married 2 more times in 1960 and 1984.

She played iconic roles in "Tammy and the Bachelor" and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" ... for which she earned an Oscar nomination.

Carrie's relationship with Debbie was the focus of Carrie's semi-autobiographical book, "Postcards from the Edge," which was later adapted for the big screen, starring Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine.

Debbie's survived by her son Todd, who tells us, "She's with Carrie."

She was 84.

Carrie Fisher and Garry Shandling shared a stage together on late-night once upon a time ... and we got a clip of the rerun that's re-airing this week.

Antenna TV will be running an old episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" Wednesday night, with Carrie and Garry as his guests in '83. It's as classic a Hollywood moment as they come.

As we reported ... the 2 stars both passed away unexpectedly this year -- Carrie from cardiac arrest and Garry from a blood clot. Here's to better times.

Carrie Fisher Makeshift Walk of Fame Star Stays ... For Now

Carrie Fisher fans don't have to worry about the makeshift star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame disappearing ... at least not yet.

A rep for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce tells TMZ ... they're inclined to leave the shrine alone so fans of the legendary actress can have a place to mourn. The rep added they'll remove it in a few days, but for now the star on Orange and Hollywood Blvd. stays.

It's interesting ... Carrie's fans were stunned to learn she doesn't have a star on Hollywood's iconic sidewalks following news of her death Tuesday. This also happened back in April when Prince died.

The rep tells us back then they followed the same protocol -- allow fans to mourn ... but the star was eventually removed.

As for a permanent star ... the Chamber says someone needs to nominate Carrie, but now that she's passed, there's a 5-year waiting period before she becomes eligible.

Family and friends gathered Tuesday at the legendary actress' Bev Hills home to mourn her passing ... and Gary was right there with them too.

Carrie Fisher's cherished dog -- a 4-year-old pooch named Gary -- will now be cared for by Carrie's daughter ... TMZ has learned.

Family friends are telling us Billie Lourd will take custody of the French bulldog, which was by Carrie's side on the plane from London to LAX when Carrie's heart stopped. The pooch also visited Carrie at UCLA Medical Center.

Billie already has a French bulldog named Tina, that's best friends with Gary. We're told she wants to make sure the 2 get along in the long term and she's able to handle the added responsibility.

A family source told TMZ, Carrie always wanted Billie to take Gary if something happened to her. If, for some reason, Billie can't care for Gary for the long haul, the dog will remain in the family.

The dog was like a child to Carrie, who carted her best friend almost everywhere she went ... even interviews.

Gary was adopted as a service pet to help Carrie with her bipolar disorder.

High Pitch Erik tells TMZ he spoke with Joey Thursday, the night before his body was discovered ... and said he was battling a cold.
