Super Bowl XLVI Indy's Servin' Up Down Home Cooking

Published | Updated

Celebs piling into Super Bowl XLVI (46 to non-Romans) luxury suites better bring their own grub if they want fancy finger foods ... because TMZ has learned this year's stadium menu is loaded with home-style comforts.

While the Giants and Patriots do battle at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis -- Centerplate catering will dish up some Midwest favorites:

-- Braised Buffalo Short Ribs featuring natural buffalo in a classic French braise
-- Heartland Farm Table platter with local veggie selections
-- Chef designed Chicken Pot Pie

Basically ... sushi lovers stay home.

However, average joes in run-of-the-mill super expensive SB seats can get Indianapolis Shrimp Cocktails ... which we're told is legendary -- despite Indy being landlocked.

Oh, and there's a sweet consolation for the NFL teams that didn't make it to the big game. All team owners get a giant jar of mixed M&Ms in their team's colors.

Feel better now, Baltimore and San Fran?

Gene Simmons BLASTS Madonna -- 'Not Appropriate' for Super Bowl

Published | Updated

Madonna has no business performing at the Super Bowl ... this according to legendary KISS frontman Gene Simmons, who thinks the game would be better off with a "real band."

Simmons was leaving Boa in Hollywood last night when we asked how he felt about Madge headlining the Super Bowl halftime show -- to which Gene sarcastically replied, "I love all karaoke singers, I love all the girl singers who get up and sing with tapes ... shame on you!"

Gene added, "By the way, Madonna's terrific ... I hate the tapes."

NFL Star 'Blindsided' by Stripper Lawsuit

Published | Updated

Albert Haynesworth -- one of the NFL's highest paid defensive players -- claims he was "blindsided" by reports of a $10 million lawsuit filed against him, in which he's accused of "abandoning" a stripper who claims she's carrying his unborn child ... this according to sources close to the situation.

We're told the Washington Redskins superstar has privately acknowledged having a few sexual encounters with the woman during Super Bowl week back in February, but he's adamant that he used protection.

Our source also tells us Haynesworth has said he will "absolutely" take responsibility if the woman can prove the child is his.

We're also told Albert says he never dated the woman ... even though she reportedly claims they carried on a relationship after Super Bowl week.

Calls to Haynesworth were not returned.

Ben Roethlisberger Sued for Sexual Assault

Published | Updated

A woman claims Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger lured her into a hotel room, then sexually assaulted her, according to a new lawsuit.

Andrea McNulty claims in her civil lawsuit filed in Washoe County, Nevada, this year's Super Bowl winner asked her to come to his hotel room in July, 2008 -- and then forced her to have sex with him.

McNulty -- an employee at the Harrah's Hotel in Lake Tahoe -- is suing for sexual assault and battery, false imprisonment and infliction of emotional distress.

Ben denies all of McNulty's allegations. Roethlisberger's lawyer told ProFootballTalk.com, "The timing of the lawsuit and the absence of a criminal complaint and a criminal investigation are the most compelling evidence of the absence of any criminal conduct."

Roethlisberger was in Nevada at the time of the alleged incident for a celebrity golf tournament.

Coincidentally, Big Ben was photographed in Nevada this weekend for a different celebrity golf tournament, in which he shot a few rounds with Michael Jordan (see photo below).

Ben was reportedly served with the legal papers at some point over the weekend -- but so far it's unclear if he got the papers before or after the tourney.

K-Fed: King of Miami?

Published | Updated

He isn't playing in the Super Bowl this Sunday, but Kevin Federline is one of the biggest stars in Miami this week. Fed's commercial for Nationwide Insurance has been the most buzzed about spot on advertising's biggest day.

Cameras spotted Brit's ex at Lebron James' Super Bowl party at Mansion in Miami last night. Federline posed with a few friends and a very happy-to-be-here-looking blonde.

K-Fed Joins the Ranks of MC Hammer and Fabio

Published | Updated

Although you won't be seeing Britney's face during the Super Bowl halftime show, her soon to be ex-husband Kevin Federline is set to star in his own commercial.

Nationwide Insurance has hired Federline to star in one of their ads, set to run during some of the most expensive airtime on television. Although we're not exactly sure what talent (and we use the term loosely) K-Fed is going to be showcasing -- but if his commercial is anything like past spokespersons, such as Fabio or MC Hammer -- Kevin will definitely be making fun of himself.

The company's motto "Life comes at you fast" leaves endless ironically satirical plots as possibilities. With Kev and Brit's recent split and custody/financial battle still in the making, it's good to see Federline being proactive and working straight through the last of his fifteen minutes. Someone's got to pay for that apartment in the valley.
