Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff needed help from the cops last night ... because TMZ has learned an incident went down at her idyllic Los Angeles-area home.

A spokesperson for Kamala, Eduardo Negrón, tells TMZ ... on Friday night, security personnel "stopped an individual who illegally entered Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Emhoff's property before the individual reached the home."

He adds, "Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Emhoff were not present. They are grateful to the security and law enforcement personnel who responded swiftly."

Oneil Cruz -- one of the top bats on the Pittsburgh Pirates -- allegedly brought in a "fixer" to buy off the families of three people who died in a tragic car accident ... according to a new report.

ProPublica released a report earlier this week ... which alleges that, in 2020, Cruz's SUV rear-ended a motorcycle with three people on it, killing all 3 of them, in the Dominican Republic.

According to a press release from authorities at the time, Cruz allegedly "had consumed alcoholic beverages prior to the accident.” The public prosecutor's office called for the "imposition of preventive detention" at the time.

A fire that erupted in a senior living facility has left 16 dead ... and only 10 survivors made it out of the blaze alive.

The fire -- which is currently under investigation -- broke out at the facility in El Edén, Chile, late Friday night, according to multiple reports.

After the blaze was put out by the fire department, they had the somber task of pulling the remains of those who perished from the ruins.

Former NASCAR driver Gary Myers -- who was a pioneer in racecar competition -- has died.

Gary -- who was part of a four-generation racing family -- passed away Thursday night, his family revealed.

Gary's son and fellow racecar driver Burt Myers wrote on Facebook ... "Last night I lost my hero. He fought so hard but was so tired. My daddy is in Heaven and can finally do the things he wanted to do the last several years."

NeNe Leakes says Kim Zolciak is not okay as Kim’s son, Kroy Biermann Jr., faces serious sexual assault allegations.

NeNe appeared on the "Big Tigger Morning Show" Friday and said she recently reached out to Kim to check on her and see how she was handling KJ's legal troubles. "I know that's a tough time and I know she's not okay," NeNe said, noting she wanted to make sure Kim was holding up.

NeNe and Kim famously feuded during their time on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," but are currently on good terms and friendly with each other.
