Tom Cruise took Glen Powell under his wing to mentor him … and admitted he had the young actor watch a 6-hour video he created about movies.

The 'Top Gun' star confirmed to GQ the story Glen previously told about Tom having him sit down to watch the instructional video about screen acting. 

Tom said the video was "very basic" and "something to have people understand, just to have a different concept of lenses and what the lens is and what the frame is."

Ms. Rachel is slamming Ed Sheeran for kicking Macklemore off his tour as his opening act following backlash over Macklemore's pro-Palestine remarks.

The popular children's creator, who has received heat for supporting Palestine, criticized Ed in a social media post ... claiming the singer "had an opportunity to show that we won't be bullied into punishing people for supporting Palestine."

Thomas Matthew Crooks -- the 20-year-old would-be assassin who shot Donald Trump in the ear -- was cremated just days after he died ... and it appears an unknown individual stepped up to cover the cost.

Documents released to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, and obtained by the New York Post, reveal an "anonymous donor paid for cremation."

According to the NYP, this note appears at the end of an interview with Crooks' dad. Docs also indicate Crooks' dad said he was "retired" while his mother was on leave from work, which may explain why someone else stepped in to cover the high costs.

An American Airlines passenger got totally naked and performed lewd acts on herself in front of others during a flight to Florida ... and she wound up in police custody, according to a report.

Fox News said the woman was flying on an AA flight from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to Miami International Airport late Friday night when she decided to rip off her clothes and start doing X-rated stuff in the view of other passengers. 

The news outlet also said the flight crew promptly went to the cockpit to report the disturbance to the captain, identifying the woman as a "passenger in row 9."
