If you were surprised to hear Kristin Cavallari was pregnant with Jay Cutler's baby, you're not the only one -- the couple themselves were shocked by the news ... TMZ has learned.

Jay and Kristin announced yesterday they were with child -- following a crazy few months where they broke off their engagement, only to announce it was back on.

Sources close to the couple tell TMZ, K&Jay had discussed the possibility of kids -- but planned to start cranking 'em out in a few years ... not any time soon.

But shocking as it was, we're told they're thrilled with the news ... renewing their commitment more than ever to making their relationship work.

If Jay wasn't locked down before, he sure is now.

Just one day after announcing her pregnancy, a freshly knocked up Kristin Cavallari ventured out in the L.A. rain this morning -- grinning with pride over the embryonic cells rapidly splitting in her uterus.

25-year-old Kristin and her 28-year-old baby daddy Jay Cutler broke off their engagement in July -- but rekindled things shortly after in November ... with a vengeance, apparently.

Rachel Uchitel ain't planning to be a full-time breast-feeder when her baby is born -- TMZ has learned, she's asking friends to buy her a $300 nipple pump instead ... on top of several other extremely expensive baby goodies.

Rachel -- who announced her pregnancy last night on Twitter -- posted a baby registry online recently, asking for a laundry list of newborn crap .... including the nipple pumps, a $500 high chair, a $300 car seat, TWO strollers ... one for $400, and one for $1000, and $300 cashmere bedding.

There's something growing inside of Rachel Uchitel ... and this time, it's not the guilt from sleeping with a married golfer.

Uchitel -- former Tiger Woods mistress numero uno -- has announced that she's preggo ... and by the looks of the photo, she's pretty convinced the baby belongs to her husband Matt Hahn.

TMZ broke the story ... Rachel and Matt secretly tied the knot back in October. The two have been living together in San Francisco ever since.

Uchitel tweeted the photos last night -- and wrote, "Expecting big things for 2012... Five down, Four months to go." By our math, the baby is due sometime around the end of April.

The day before confirming she was preggers, Kourtney Kardashian took her baby bump shopping in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.

The unwed 32-year-old is nine weeks along with her second child with boyfriend Scott Disick. The couple also have 2-year-old son Mason.

Dallas Cowboys defensive stud Jay Ratliff wants a judge to know ... he's willing to put in the time and the money to be a great father to his newborn son ... but he thinks his baby mama is trying to take advantage of his big, fat bank account.

Ratliff -- a 3-time Pro Bowl nose tackle who recently signed a $40 million contract extension -- was hit with a paternity suit back in April by a woman named Tonitura Kelley, who claimed the NFL star was the father of her then-unborn child.

According to court docs, Ratliff submitted to a paternity test, which revealed a positive match between Jay and the baby. Kelley filed a request for child support ... but sources familiar with the case tell us she's looking for more money than state guidelines provide for.

Jay filed docs saying he wants to be involved in the child's life -- and is making a play for shared custody. He and Tonitura are due back in court in the near future.

Ratliff's rep tells TMZ ... Jay is currently visiting with his son at least 3 times a week ... adding, "Jay's stepped up to become a good father, he loves his child ... and he's letting the judicial system run its course."

Her dad might run TheDirty.com, but Press Dahl Lamas-Richie looks clean as a whistle in her first baby photo.

"Bachelor" winner Shayne Lamas is finally a mommy ... after giving birth to a bouncing baby girl today, Press Dahl Lamas-Richie ... TMZ has learned.

We're told Shayne's hubby -- TheDirty.com honcho Nik Richie -- was in the room for the planned C-section. Press was born at 12:01pm ... weighing in at a healthy 6 pounds 6 ounces.

Sources directly connected with Justin Bieber tell TMZ ... the singer is adamant he never had sexual relations with the woman who claims she had his baby ... and as far as he knows, Justin has never even met her.

The woman in question reportedly filed a paternity suit against Justin, claiming she and JB had a special hug backstage at a recent concert at the Staples Center in L.A. ... and 9 months later, she popped out a baby, baby, baby, oh.

But we're told Justin believes the story was "completely made up."

Justin Bieber's legal team is ready to strike over allegations the singer impregnated a 20-year-old woman ... allegations that Team Bieber claims are "malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false."

The woman in question reportedly filed a paternity suit against Justin, claiming she boned the underage singer backstage at one of his L.A. concerts ... and left with an embryonic party favor.

But a rep for Justin tells TMZ, "While we haven't yet seen the lawsuit, it's sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims."

The rep adds, "We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations."

Jessica Simpson has finally confirmed what everyone already knew ... she's pregnant.

The singer just tweeted, "It's true ... I"m going to be a mummy!" -- posting a pic of herself in a mummy costume ... holding her baby bump.
