Playboy Mansion Bogus 911 Call ... NOT a 'Swatting' Prank

Published | Updated

LAPD officers rushed to the Playboy Mansion earlier today in response to a bogus 911 call reporting an assault inside the home -- but we're told ... cops do NOT believe it was a "swatting" prank.

When cops arrived at the scene, the LAPD says there was no evidence a crime had been committed on the property.

After an initial investigation showed no signs of an assault, an LAPD spokesman told the media, "It could be one of those swatting calls."

But law enforcement sources tell us, police have since been able to identify the caller and no longer believe it was a "swatting" prank. We're told the call wasn't intended to garner a SWAT response ... which is the whole point of "swatting" pranks. In fact, only two squad cars responded to the home.

We're told cops believe there's a possibility the caller was convinced an assault had actually occurred. Law enforcement is still investigating the situation.

It's not surprising cops initially jumped to the "swatting" conclusion -- Hollywood's been besieged with "swatting" pranks in recent months ... reporting fake crimes at celebrities' homes in the hopes SWAT teams will be called in on false pretenses.

Recent victims include Ashton Kutcher, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Simon Cowell, Tom Cruise, the Kardashians, and Chris Brown.

As we reported, a 12-year-old was charged earlier this month in connection with the "swatting" calls ... specifically for the Kutcher incident and another incident involving an L.A. bank.

Metta World Peace Cops Confront Armed Men Outside Laker's Condo

Published | Updated

Metta World Peace was roused out of bed early this morning when police responded to a report of 4 armed men in the basketball star's condo complex ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us LAPD got a call around midnight about 4 guys -- 3 with handguns and one with a shotgun -- lurking around the L.A. Laker's westside home.

We're told officers called out the suspects over a loudspeaker, and 2 men -- Metta's brother and cousin -- heard the commotion and came out to talk to cops.

Only problem is ... we're told they didn't have any ID, so police handcuffed both men until they could make sure they weren't suspects.

Sources say officers had to wake up Metta -- who quickly vouched for his brother and cousin, and both men were released. We're told Mr. World Peace was very "understanding and professional" ... naturally.

Eventually the "armed suspects" came out and proved to cops they were residents of the complex -- unrelated to Metta -- who were returning home with BB guns used while recording a video.

We're told the 4 men got off with a warning -- presumably about carrying weapons in public -- and possibly about unnecessarily alarming Lakers superstars ... who, let's face it, need all the rest they can get this season.

Kim Kardashian Sacrifices Her Couch ... for $5 Mil Mansion Sale

Published | Updated

If you're a couch in Kim Kardashian's house, don't get too attached -- TMZ has learned when she unloaded her Beverly Hills mansion recently ... all the primo furniture was included in the price.

Sources tell us ... Kim quietly sold her 4,000-square-foot pad -- the one she once shared with Kris Humphries for a hot minute -- for just under $5 million. She bought it in 2010 for $4.8 million.

We're told Kim wanted a quickie sale -- she has that other mansion to nest in with Kanye West -- so when the buyer asked to have all the high-end furniture included ... KK gave it up without a fight.

The lucky buyer scored everything from couches, to coffee tables, to custom made pieces like Kim's favorite glam station vanity dresser (which we're told was hard for her to part with) ... all totaled worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Bright side for Kim ... she's got so much money ... she's building an entire salon in her new digs.

Dave Matthews Crashes into Malibu ... For $6 Million

Published | Updated

Dave Matthews is over those cold Seattle winters ... because the Grammy-winning singer just dropped nearly $7 million on a sunny Malibu estate.

Dave's new 2-acre spot is right down the street from P!nk, Bob Dylan and Barbra Streisand ... and while its ocean view is pretty sweet, its private beach is even better. Total price ... $6,675,000.

As for the house itself ... it's European country-style -- stucco walls and high ceilings -- with 6 beds, 5.5 baths, a pool, a spa ... and its own apple orchard. Of course.

The estate's even got a 900 sq. ft. guest house ... just in case his violin-shreddin' buddies need a place to crash.

In all, it's Dave's third home -- he's got a place in Seattle as well as Charlottesville, VA ... but let's face it ... he'll prolly never leave the 'Bu.

Kurt Warner Screw It, I'm Putting My House Up for Auction

Published | Updated

NFL legend Kurt Warner is throwing in the towel after waiting over a year for his giant mansion to sell on the open market -- finally agreeing to auction the place off to the highest bidder instead.

Warner listed the 11,300 sq. ft. Paradise, AZ home for $5 million in 2011, but it hasn't sold. Shocking because the place is awesome -- featuring six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a guest house, a workout room, theater room, its own elevator ... and even an in-ground trampoline.

But it's good news for buyers -- because an auction nearly guarantees the home will fetch considerably less than its original asking price.

If you got a few milly lying around, the auction -- which is being run by NYC-based Concierge Auctions -- is scheduled to go down on February 27th.

Dick Clark's Flintstones House Price Slashed 'Cause No One Wants It

Published | Updated

Dick Clark's Flintstones-themed house in Malibu is apparently an unsellable freak of architecture -- because after nearly a year on the market ... no one's bought it ... and now, the asking price has been heavily discounted.

The house was originally listed last March -- a month before Dick passed away -- for $3.5 million. It's remained unsold ever since, and now the price has been dropped by $250,000 ... to $3.25 million, this according to our friends at Curbed LA.

The home -- currently owned by Dick Clark's estate -- isn't a bad deal ... even if you hate the house itself ... because it sits on 23 acres of prime Malibu real estate with a 360-degree view of the Pacific Ocean, Channel Islands, Boney Mountains, and Serrano Valley.

Maybe he shoulda built a Jetsons house.

The primo place is fit for a legend like Cher ... rockin' a giant outdoor terrace, 24/7 concierge service, gym, pool, sundeck, and panoramic L.A. views.

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West First, Bel Air ... THEN THE WORLD!!!

Published | Updated

An $11,000,000 mansion in Bel Air might be enough for some people, but not Kim Kardashian and Kanye West ... because TMZ has learned they have their sights set on buying THREE other multi-million dollar mansions across the globe.

As TMZ first reported, KK and KW plunked down a huge chunk of change to build a 14,000-square-foot pad in an über-private, gated community in Bel Air, CA.

But sources close to the couple tell TMZ they aren't stopping there. We're told they plan to buy homes in New York, Miami and Paris too -- and, no it's not a coincidence those are all centers of the fashion industry. Also, the Kardashians have DASH stores in all, but Paris.

Kim and Kanye have been in Brazil the last few days, and there are rumors they're looking to scoop up a home there too -- but we're told that wasn't the plan ... they were just meeting an architect they might hire for their Bel Air pad.

However, our sources say the Brazil trip has been so enjoyable ... they're now open to buying a place there too.

Must be nice.

Jeremy Shockey Sues Miami Landlord -- Give Back My Rent Money!!!

Published | Updated

NFL castaway Jeremy Shockey -- who once signed a $26 million contract with the Giants -- is now locked in a legal battle with a Miami landlord ... over $16,000 ... TMZ has learned.

Shockey filed a lawsuit against the landlord of a $14,000-a-month Miami beach mansion -- where he lived for ONE MONTH last summer -- claiming she's holding his security deposit hostage for no good reason.

Shockey claims he paid the landlord one month's rent, plus a substantial security deposit ... but when he moved out, she refused to return $16,000 he's owed.

Shockey claims he left the place in perfectly acceptable condition ... so the landlord's got no leg to stand on. Now, he's suing for $16,000 plus interest.

Calls to the landlord weren't returned.

To cover up whatever smells may come from its residents.

There are reports out Lindsay is living at her mom Dina's Long Island home, but it's not true. We've learned she's staying at her friend's SoHo apartment. The friend is letting Lindsay stay there rent free until she finds a place of her own.

And the friend hasn't set any deadlines for moving.

Good thing it's rent free, 'cause Lindsay should save her cash so she can pay Shawn Holley ... at least that's what we think.

She then politely asks, "Do you think you can send a fireman?"

Lucky for her ... Beverly Hills firemen are quick, and mostly handsome.
