The Catalina Wine Mixer – the legendary scene from Will Ferrell's "Step Brothers" flick – is coming to life, and it's going to be just like the movie, right down to a helicopter landing.

The film company has given a Santa Catalina Island business the green light to recreate the scene in glorious detail for the event, which kicks off next week.

Just like the movie, The Dan Band is headlining, but the sweetest part ... they're planning on landing a helicopter on the lawn of the event, just like the movie finale!

No word if Ferrell or John C. Reilly will encore their “Por Ti Volare” and “Boats 'N Hoes” mash-up.

Johnny Depp made a splash in Venice, Italy as he arrived for the famous film festival ... to unveil a film that could be his best work ever.

Johnny's film, "Black Mass," is by all accounts incredible, and his performance may top everyone's this year. He plays Boston mafioso Whitey Bulger, who was indicted for 19 murders. Bulger, who disappeared for 16 years, was arrested in 2011 in Santa Monica.

Bulger was reputed to be an FBI informant at one time.

The makings of a great role.

He murders people in the octagon, but now UFC badass Conor McGregor says he's getting a bunch of "f**ked up" movie offers to slaughter the undead in African jungles.

Seriously.

Conor's doing some training out in L.A. (check out video below) -- and clearly, Hollywood's aware of his presence ... 'cause CG says he's been getting hit with a ton of offers to star on the big screen ... a la Ronda Rousey.

Conor says he's still in talks ... but says if it doesn't work out, "I don't give a f**k."

Gotta love this guy.

Amanda Peterson -- who starred in "Can't Buy Me Love" died from an accidental overdose of a deadly combination of drugs.

The 43-year-old disappeared just before the 4th of July and her body was found on July 5th.

According to the Weld County Coroner in Colorado, Peterson had a variety of prescription drugs in her system, including benzodizepines (anti-anxiety meds), opiates and phenothiazines (an anti-psychotic medication). She also had marijuana in her system.

One of the drugs in her system -- Gabapentin -- was prescribed for pain and the medical examiner said she had 6 times the normal level in her system.

The report says Peterson was "naive to opiates."

The toxicology report says a week before her death she told someone she ingested morphine medication she got from friends. The reports says she was self-medicating to control pain.

As for why she died, the report says it was because of a "morphine effect" ... which causes respiratory failure.

Aldis Hodge isn't letting his "Straight Outta Compton" success get outta control ... he still drives a Prius and puts money in the bank.

Hodge, who played MC Ren in the film, is like a walking 401k billboard.

Robert Griffin III is weighing in on the drama surrounding Will Smith's upcoming movie about the NFL and concussions ... saying he strongly believes the flick is going to piss a lot of people off.

The movie, "Concussion," has been getting a lot of heat since the trailer dropped this week -- with some saying the movie is sensationalizing a non-issue ... and others saying it will blow the lid off the diabolical way the league has handled head injuries over the years.

RG3 is an interesting person to ask considering he's currently sidelined due to a concussion he suffered during the NFL pre-season.

So, how does RG3 feel?

"I don't know what [the movie] is going to entail, but I'm sure it'll make a lot of people mad," Griffin says ... "Show 'em what it's REALLY about to have those kind of injuries."

The movie is set to open in December -- should be interesting to see what happens.

Wes Craven ... legendary horror director of "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Scream," has died.

Craven passed away Sunday at his home in Los Angeles after battling brain cancer.

Along with creating one of the most feared movie monsters of all time -- Freddy Kreuger -- Craven is also known for horror classics like "The Hills Have Eyes" and "Last House on the Left."

He is survived by his wife, three children, and grandchildren. He was 76.

Elle Fanning's not exactly hauling in Jennifer Lawrence money yet -- she's only 17 -- but she's got a shot at earning that kinda scratch from her next job ... IF she turns in an award winning performance.

Luckily for Dakota Fanning's kid sis there's already some Oscar buzz for "About Ray" -- a movie she's only getting $65,000 to make -- base salary, anyway. That's the bad news.

The good news is Elle's playing a teenage girl transitioning to a boy. In other words, it's exactly the kinda flick Oscar voters tend to eat up ... and that will put a ton of bonus money in her bank account.

According to her contract, Elle gets $100k if she's nominated for and wins a Golden Globe -- and another $167k for an Oscar nod and win!

There's also a $250k bonus if 'Ray' earns $45 million worldwide at the box office -- which would be really impressive for a small budget film.

Don't hand LeBron James the crown just yet when it comes to NBA stars turned actors -- Bulls legend Horace Grant is riding with his old teammate Michael Jordan until LBJ passes one big test.

Horace was at LAX when asked him to grade King James' debut in "Trainwreck" against Jordan's movie skills. As Ho explained ... for him, MJ still takes the cake until he sees some receipts from LeBron.

But check out the clip, because Horace couldn't stop gushing about Jordan in a bunch of other areas too. You name it, Jordan's the best at it -- although HG did diss him on one topic!

Arnold Schwarzenegger ran into Woody Allen, and amazingly Woody survived -- since it was just at dinner ... but what an interesting dinner that would be.

The video's a little strange ... we got Arnold and his GF Heather Milligan walking into Madeo Monday night in West Hollywood, and literally 3 seconds later ... Woody and Soon-Yi cruised in behind them.

Woody might have been hitting up Arnold to step in for Bruce Willis ... who just backed out of an untitled movie that Woody's directing. Then again, it could be coincidence.

But we doubt it.

O'Shea Jackson Jr. and Jason Mitchell from "Straight Outta Compton" are now movie stars ... but they turned into fanboys when they met the American train heroes in Paris.

Anthony Sadler, Spencer Stone and Alek Skarlatos were walking in Paris Sunday night when they saw the two actors who played Ice Cube and Eazy-E ... and before they could ask the stars for a pic, O'Shea and Jason beat them to the punch -- this according to Anthony's sister Arissa.

After a quick chat the actors invited the trio to the Paris premiere of "Straight Outta Compton" Monday night.

Arissa wasn't sure if they'd be able to make the screening because of security risks ... but the invite is sure cool.

As we first reported, the networks are all fighting for the first interview with Skarlatos.

Sadler ended up making it to the premiere and even walked the red carpet!

Anna Kashfi, mother of Marlon Brando's first son, has died in Washington state.

Kashfi married Brando in 1957, not too long after meeting at the commissary at Paramount Studios. She gave birth to Christian Brando in 1958. The next year she and Marlon divorced -- they fought for custody of Christian ... with Marlon eventually winning.

Kashfi said she was born in India, and raised in Great Britain. In the early '50s, she starred in movies with Rock Hudson ("Battle Hymn") and Spencer Tracy ("The Mountain").

She wrote a tell-all book about her life with Marlon in 1979 called, "Brando for Breakfast."

Christian, you may recall, shot and killed his sister's boyfriend, pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and served 6 years in prison. He died in 2008, and was buried in Kalama, Washington ... the same town where Anna lived.

Steve Nash wants everyone to know how awesome it was to drop ecstasy pills -- when it was legal, of course ... so he's making a movie about the drug craze.

The ex-NBA MVP is producing the flick centering around the drug's popularity in Dallas in the '80s (h/t BSO) ... when it was legal. We know what you're thinking -- Nash played for the Dallas Mavericks from 1998 to 2004.

The answer is yes, that's when he learned about X ... strictly from talking to people in Big D, of course. Steve told Variety, "After poring over the material I found an incredibly unique story with so many vibrant characters and a bold history known as the origin to the rave scene ecstasy culture."

Dr. Dre is finally coming clean about allegations he abused multiple women decades ago ... saying he deeply regrets the things he did to them.

It's no coincidence the apology comes on the heels of the success of "Straight Outta Compton." Critics have pointed out the film skirts Dre's violent past with girlfriends, a journalist, and a female rapper -- several of whom have spoken out against him recently.

Dre finally addressed it with the New York Times, saying ... "Twenty-five years ago I was a young man drinking too much and in over my head with no real structure in my life. However, none of this is an excuse for what I did."

He added, "I apologize to the women I’ve hurt. I deeply regret what I did and know that it has forever impacted all of our lives."

Hollywood's not done cashing in on the 'hood -- a "Straight Outta Compton" sequel, of sorts, is in the works featuring the rise of Snoop Dogg, Tupac and other West Coast rap legends.

Dogg Pound vet Daz tells TMZ the movie will pick up where N.W.A. left off -- following the careers of Snoop, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, Daz and Warren G. We're told the title is "Dogg Pound 4 Life."

Tha DPG's music will be the focus, but Daz says the follow-up also won't whitewash gang violence and its impact on the rap industry.

As for casting -- we're told Dr. Dre's son, Curtis Young, will take over that role. No decision yet on who will play Snoop and Ice Cube ... but it won't be the same actors from 'Compton.' Dre and Cube won't be producing, but Daz says Cube gave him the idea to make the movie.

There is one huge loose end named Suge Knight. We're told he'll be included in the story -- hard to omit since Death Row was so huge -- but the producers won't be working with him.

It puts the house on the market or else it gets the hose again.

The 3-story Victorian home from "The Silence of the Lambs" – yes, the one used to hold Buffalo Bill’s skinsuit victims -- has hit the market, for a very reasonable price.

The 5-bedroom home, an hour south of Pittsburgh, was built in 1910 and its owners have barely changed a thing since the movie that won Best Picture was shot there in 1990.

Asking price ... $300k.

There are plenty of amenities ... a pool and a vintage caboose that doubles as a pool house.

The place comes with photos the homeowners took during filming, and a signed book with the inscription, "Thank you so much for letting us use your beautiful house for our scary movie," signed by Jodie Foster and director Jonathan Demme.
