The Mayor of Boston is also standing by his star QB -- basically saying Wells Report investigators did a crappy job ... and maintaining that his Patriots won the Super Bowl "fair and square."

Mayor Martin L. Walsh -- a hardcore Pats fan -- took on the issue last night ... calling the report "vague" and saying it returned no real "concrete answers" about Tom Brady's involvement in Deflategate.

"Usually when you have an investigation you come back with some concrete answers, 'This is what was known, this is how we did it.' It seems like somebody's stretching something."

He continued, "I don't know if the NFL is stretching their report and they don't have any facts and they're just trying to make it look bad for the Patriots or the Patriots haven't responded properly."

Tom Brady's high school still has the QB's back -- telling TMZ Sports he's NOT a bad guy ... and they're praying for his family in the wake of Deflategate.

We spoke with the people at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, California -- where he was a 3-sport superstar before he graduated in 1995 ... and they all say the "real" Tom Brady is a caring and generous person ... not the cheater the Wells Report has made him out to be.

In fact, Serra President Lars Lund tells us ... "The Brady's are an important part of our community, and we will keep them in our thoughts and prayers as they move forward through this difficult time."

Retired Serra Chaplain Fr. Joe Bradley -- who has known the Brady family for years -- added, "I have great respect for Tom and his entire family. He has a generous spirit and a caring heart. His willingness to reach out to the Padre community is legendary, but always offered with joy and humility."

Tom Brady's agent is calling B.S. on the Wells Report -- claiming it paints the star QB as a cheater ... without any real significant proof.

Brady's agent Don Yee just came out swingin' ... saying the entire investigation was not only flawed, but carried out by people who have a "limited understanding of professional football."

In a statement, Yee says ... "The Wells report, with all due respect, is a significant and terrible disappointment. It’s omission of key facts and lines of inquiry suggest the investigators reached a conclusion first, and then determined so-called facts later."

Yee even suggests that the NFL cooperated with the Indianapolis Colts to run a "sting operation" with the end goal of embarrassing Tom and the Patriots.

Yee also suggests that Ted Wells was not truly running an "independent investigation" -- because his firm makes a lot of money off the NFL ... and is heavily influenced by the league.

There's more ... Yee says Tom was NOT difficult with investigators and "made himself available for nearly an entire day and patiently answered every question."

Yee continues, "The Wells report omitted nearly all of Tom’s testimony, most of which was critical because it would have provided this report with the context that it lacks."

Deflategate is stupid ... Tom Brady is still awesome ... and the Patriots shouldn't have to give their Super Bowl rings back ... so says supermodel Crissy Tiegen.

Tiegen -- who happens to be a Seahawks fan -- says the Wells Report is just "beating a dead horse" ... with the Pats already having been shamed in public AND by the President of the United States.

Fully inflated balls wouldn't have changed the outcome of the AFC Championship game ... the Pats still would've won BIG ... so says someone who was there, Colts linebacker Erik Walden.

Walden -- who racked up 5 tackles in that game -- says it's "gross" that Brady would resort to cheating ... but says, "I don't think that s**t made a difference in our game."

For the record, the Pats beat the Colts 45-7.

"They're already hard to beat and now we know they do that extra s**t to win. They're coming at you from every angle."

Walden added, "It's unfortunate that they did this, but they're still the champs. You gotta give them credit, they did it, and they got away with it, and they won the Super Bowl."

Tom Brady consciously cheated in the AFC Championship "Deflategate" game ... the game before the Super Bowl ... so says the guy charged with investigating the scandal.

The NFL just released the results of Ted Wells' investigation into Deflategate ... which says it is "more probable than not that New England Patriots personnel participated in violations of the NFL Playing Rules and were involved in a deliberate attempt to circumvent those rules."

The report also says, "We also have concluded that it is more probable than not that Tom Brady was at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities of [the locker room attendants] involving the release of air from Patriots game balls."

The report says ... when people began to get suspicious about the balls, the locker room guys began communicating with Brady by phone and text messages with "significantly increased frequency."

Investigators also say the men who deflated the footballs "received valuable items autographed by Tom Brady the week before the AFC Champsionship game."

As for Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick ... Wells says the investigation shows there was NO evidence to support theories that they were involved in Deflategate.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft issued a statement saying, "To say we are disappointed in its findings, which do not include any incontrovertible or hard evidence of deliberate deflation of footballs at the AFC Championship game, would be a gross understatement."

Kraft added, "We will accept the findings of the report and take the appropriate actions based on those findings as well as any discipline levied by the league.”

When Captain America makes a promise ... he always follows through -- especially when it involves a deal he made with Chris Pratt over the Super Bowl.

As you may recall ... Pratt, a Seahawks fan, lost a bet to Chris Evans over the big game last month and visited a children's hospital dressed as Star-Lord from "Guardians of the Galaxy." Afterward, Evans agreed to the do the same, as Cap.

The 33 year-old hunk visited Seattle Children's Hospital Saturday in his Captain America costume ... and it's clear by the looks on these kids faces that their day was made.

Pete Carroll deliberately called a pass play at the end of the Super Bowl to stick it to Marshawn Lynch for being a thorn in the NFL's side ... this according to Mike Epps.

The comic is dead serious ... telling "Larry King Now" he believes the Seattle Seahawks organization wanted to take the ball away from Lynch at the end of the game because they didn't want him to get the glory.

"They didn't want Lynch to get the MVP. They wanted Russell Wilson to get it."

Epps also says the team didn't want to glorify Marshawn's behavior and what he represents -- "the hood."

Choking to the New England Patriots wasn't so bad after all ... so says Seahawks mega-fan Chris Pratt who says his Super Bowl wager with Chris Evans was the "best bet I ever lost."

Of course, Pratt agreed to visit the kids at Evans' Boston-based charity after the defeat ... dressed as Star-Lord ... while the "Captain America" actor taunted him with a Tom Brady jersey.

The kids loved it -- and clearly, so did Chris, who told us the whole experience was "beautiful."

The clip's pretty great ... especially the part where Pratt's famous friend (an actor who's been in a bunch of stuff) jockeys for camera time on the way into a bar ... hilarious stuff.

Super Bowl hero Malcolm Butler is riding high right now ... 'cause the dude just got himself a brand new FREE TRUCK ... and it's all thanks to Tom Brady.

Of course, Brady got a Chevy Colorado for being named MVP of the Super Bowl -- but said he wanted to give it to Butler ... who made the game-saving interception.

Well, Chevy heard Brady loud and clear ... and instead of letting Tom part ways with his prize, they decided to hook Butler up too ... and Tuesday in Massachusetts, Butler finally got his ride!!

"I am ecstatic that Chevrolet has chosen to reward me with a Colorado. It is just another unreal event in what has been an incredible week."

Still no word on what Brady plans to do with his truck.

Abandon all hope of a "Weird Al" Super Bowl Halftime show ... 'cause the 4-time Grammy nominee tells TMZ Sports it's NEVER gonna happen ... despite hardcore support from the fans.

Before the big game, more than 100,000 people signed a petition begging the NFL to select Yankovic as halftime entertainment at Super Bowl XLIX.

But the NFL went with Katy Perry instead -- and Al tells us he doesn't ever see the league offering him the gig.

"It would be fun, but I don't think I'll ever be on the NFL's short list," Al says ... "It's not gonna happen."

Hey, it's the NFL's loss.

Rob Gronkowski ain't the only guy on the Patriots who loves to party -- Super Bowl hero Malcolm Butler hit the club scene hard in Vegas last night ... and TMZ Sports has the pics!

Butler was the guest of honor at Chateau nightclub in the Paris Las Vegas -- where the 24-year-old got his own booth, his own custom champagne ... and his own personal cheerleaders.

Multiple sources tell us Butler was super nice to everyone -- taking pics with fans and dancing all night long.

It's been a pretty good month for Butler -- as we previously reported, Chevy decided to give him a FREE TRUCK for making that game-saving interception in the Super Bowl.

2:20 PM PT -- Chevy confirms Butler will get his own truck on Tuesday.

Super Bowl hero Malcolm Butler is one step closer to getting a free truck ... because the powers that be at Chevy are actively discussing hooking him up ... so Tom Brady won't have to give up his MVP ride.

TMZ Sports spoke with a rep for Chevrolet who tells us ... they're well aware of Tom's intentions to give his Chevy Colorado to Butler ... but they don't want to see Tom part ways with the vehicle.

"Obviously, it was part of his prize as MVP, but we're aware of Tom Brady's wishes for Malcolm to have the truck," the rep tells us.

So, we asked if Chevy would be giving Butler a ride of his own ... and the rep told us, "We've discussed it. That's all I can really say right now."

Sounds to us like plans are in motion ... but when we pushed, the rep was pretty tight lipped.

Bottom line ... if you're Malcolm Butler, you might wanna start making room in your garage.

Chris Pratt is like a Lannister ... he always pays his debts -- and today, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star dressed up as Star-Lord to make good on his Super Bowl wager with Chris Evans.

You already know the bet ... Star-Lord (Seahawks fan) and Captain America (Pats fan) agreed to visit the other actor's charity in costume if their team lost the big game.

Well, today it happened ... with Pratt -- in character -- hangin' with kids from Christopher's Haven in Boston ... an organization that helps provide housing for families with children fighting pediatric cancer.

Don't worry, Evans was there the whole time to follow Pratt around with a Tom Brady jersey.

And the story gets better ... because Evans says he'll be visiting Pratt's charity too -- a Seattle Children's Hospital.

To the victor, GO THE CHEESEBURGERS ... so says Rob Gronkowski who tells TMZ Sports he's been on a celebratory cheeseburger binge ever since he won the big game.

"I've been eating cheeseburgers off the charts," Gronk told us out in NYC earlier today.

Don't worry, the burgerfest is only temporary ... Gronk says he'll be back on his regular diet in just a few days -- but if anyone's EARNED a burger break, it's this guy.

Bonus -- Gronk told us he'll be spending time in L.A. this summer and says he hopes he can continue making waves in Hollywood ... where he's already landed a movie role ("Entourage") and TV cameos ("Whose Line Is It Anyway?").

When you're Keyshawn Johnson ... your word is as good as cash -- so says an AZ woman who claims the ex-NFL star paid for a $60 Super Bowl sweatshirt with an I.O.U. note.

We're told Key was leaving his Scottsdale hotel Friday night -- when a rainstorm broke out and Key realized he didn't pack the proper attire.

So, he went up to a lady (Sarah) selling SBXLIX swag and tried to buy a sweatshirt. Problem is, he didn't have any cash on him at the time.

But Key had a solution -- he wrote an I.O.U. note for the gear ... and signed it with his name, the debt and his old jersey number, #19.

Now, we've learned ... Key has been in contact with Sarah -- and has told her he intends to pay back every single cent.

"We finally got in touch and he's going to just wire the money to my account," Sarah tells us ... "I'm happy! I knew he'd be good for it."
