We caught up with the F&F Entertainment rookie group -- formed via the SBS competition show, "Universe League" -- ahead of their debut ... and they shed some light on the whole process and what they learned about each other along the way.

All nine members (Steven, Jeongwoo, Woongki, Shuaibo, Han, JL, Juwon, Chih En and Daisuke) peeled back the curtain on topics like their influences, dream collabs (hi, Sabrina Carpenter), and what makes them so unique ... which fittingly ties into the title of their mini album, "WHO WE ARE."

We caught up with the singer-songwriter Friday in Los Angeles ... and, we had to ask about the new tape -- which she released earlier in the day -- that she says is totally inspired by Houston.

She told Billboard in an interview the mixtape was inspired by Lil Wayne ... so, we wanted to know which track she'd want Wayne to feature on -- and, for the remix, sounds like "Bend It Over" is her pick.

A post was shared to the singer-songwriter's Instagram Saturday ... letting fans know "chronic and intense back pain" required immediate attention -- and, he can't play his shows this weekend.

The statement explains the shows will have to be canceled for now ... because PS simply doesn't have the ability to reschedule them for a later date at this time.

Rihanna's dad, Ronald Fenty, died from cancer, pneumonia and other serious illnesses ... TMZ has learned.

Fenty's death on May 30 was caused by acute respiratory failure, pancreatic cancer and aspiration pneumonia -- which is a bacterial lung infection -- according to a death certificate obtained by TMZ.

Other causes listed in the document include acute renal failure and acute tubular necrosis -- both of which involve extensive kidney damage.
