Mark Fuhrman's longtime professional partner is remembering the former LAPD detective as far more than the controversial figure many came to know during the O.J. Simpson trial ... saying the man she worked beside was brilliant, funny and deeply misunderstood.

Lynda Bensky -- who worked with Fuhrman for 28 years covering high-profile murder cases for Fox News -- tells TMZ the two traveled constantly together as contracted analysts ... and she says crowds would regularly approach him to thank him for his work as a detective.

Bensky says Fuhrman handled the fallout from the Simpson case "with grace" ... adding she believed he was unfairly targeted by the defense team.

Ron Goldman's father and Nicole Brown Simpson's sister are mourning the loss of a central figure in the O.J. Simpson murder case ... former LAPD detective Mark Fuhrman.

Ron's dad, Fred Goldman, tells TMZ ... "Anytime anyone dies, it’s a shame."

Nicole's sister, Tanya Brown, tells TMZ ... "This is a big one and a huge loss."

Mark infamously discovered the bloody glove in the O.J. murder case and later torpedoed the prosecution when the defense proved he'd used the n-word. He died Tuesday in Idaho after a battle with throat cancer.

Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts was NOT at the wedding of his longtime friend and current NFL teammate A.J. Brown, TMZ has learned.

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ that despite knowing each other for years and playing on the same team ... we're told Jalen didn't make the lavish beachside ceremony. However, it's unclear if he was invited.

Jalen's absence is interesting on a number of levels. He's known A.J. since high school and is the godfather to A.J.'s daughter, Jersee. Jalen tried to recruit A.J. to Alabama to play together in college, and pushed hard for the Eagles to acquire him a trade. But after 4 years together in Philly, there are rumors of a rift.

Sam Houston State University is mourning the loss of defensive back William Davis, who has died at the age of 22, TMZ has confirmed.

A spokesperson for Sam Houston State University tells TMZ … "We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of SHSU student-athlete Will Davis."

The school's Head Football Coach Phil Longo released a statement saying ... "It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of Will Davis. Will was a beloved member of our Bearkat football family here at Sam Houston who touched the lives of everyone he knew."

Jaylen Brown and Stephen A. Smith have major beef ... and it just got kicked to a whole other level.

The Celtics star went on his live stream over the weekend to address comments made about him by the ESPN personality ... and in a clip you're going to have to see to believe, he made it pretty clear he and SAS are far from good.

JB said of Smith talking trash about him ... “F--- Stephen A ... Stephen A, Stephen B, Stephen C. My offer still stands: You want me to be quiet and stop streaming ... well I want you to be quiet and get off these networks. Because you’re not using your platform to do real journalism.”

"We're here at the beautiful Caesars Palace fountains, where Evel Knievel and a bunch of other legends jump their bikes, and I'm going to be jumping my motorcycle, going for a world record," Raha told Babcock.
