MIT Professor Pronounced Dead After Being Shot At His Home

A professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology was fatally shot by an unidentified assailant at his home shortly before 8:30 PM Monday.

Nuno F. Gomes Loureiro was found inside his residence in Brookline, Massachusetts -- located just over 6 miles from Boston -- when officers responded to a call reporting gunshots.

Loureiro was rushed to a hospital for treatment, where he was pronounced dead at the age of 47 Tuesday. He'd been shot multiple times, police said.

A neighbor of Loureiro's said they heard "three loud bangs," which they initially thought was someone "kicking in a door," WBZ-TV reports.

Henry Ruggs isn't just lounging around waiting for his release from prison ... the former Raiders star, who pleaded guilty to felony DUI, graduated from the University of Alabama, earning his Bachelor's degree behind bars.

Eagle-eyed viewers spotted Ruggs' name under the Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration in the Tides fall commencement ceremony. NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reported that the 26-year-old finished the semester with a 4.0 GPA.

It's a nice achievement for the 12th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft ... who was sentenced to three-to-ten years in prison for causing the fatal crash in Sin City in August 2023.

Sherrone Moore Out of Jail After Posting Bond

Sherrone Moore is a free man -- the former Michigan Wolverines head coach is out of jail two days after getting fired and arrested.

The 39-year-old seemingly evaded cameras leaving the Washtenaw County Jail on Friday ... 'cause the media didn't capture him on his way out.

Moore was hit with three charges -- felony home invasion and stalking, and breaking and entering, both misdemeanors.

Ex-NBA'er Isaiah Rider Arrested For Violating Protective Order

NBA champion Isaiah Rider was arrested earlier this month after he allegedly violated a court order ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us that the 54-year-old was arrested on December 4 and charged with one count of interfering with judicial proceedings.

According to court documents we obtained ... "J.R.'s" wife, Vanessa, filed for a protective order back in July 2025. In the application, she alleged Rider was aggressive on multiple occasions, including a time when she claims Isaiah said, "You're gonna get your ass slapped."

Jen Shah Released From Prison ... Under Supervision, Still Owes $6.5 Million

Jen Shah may be out of prison ... but she's still under the watchful eye of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

TMZ can confirm "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" alum left Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas Wednesday morning ... but she is now subject to community confinement overseen by the BOP's Phoenix Residential Reentry Management Office. This means Jen is either in home confinement or a halfway house.

Jen still has 5 years of post-release supervision, with required drug and alcohol testing. She'll participate in an outpatient mental health program, and she must continue to take prescribed medication. And she still owes more than $6.5 million in restitution.

Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier officially entered a not guilty plea in Federal court on Monday ... following his shocking October arrest in connection with the betting scandal that rocked the NBA!

Rozier -- wearing a grey two-piece suit -- and accompanied by his mother and lawyer, Jim Trusty, appeared in the Brooklyn courthouse for his arraignment this afternoon.

The 10-year NBA veteran was arrested following a federal investigation into illegal gambling. Rozier was cuffed and hauled away from a hotel in Orlando after the Heat's game against the Magic.

Jets' Kris Boyd Person Of Interest Arrested ... After NYC Shooting

An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting of New York Jets player Kris Boyd ... a person of interest was taken into custody in Buffalo on Monday, TMZ Sports confirmed.

A former Sacramento County Sheriff's deputy fired for drug use was killed at the end of a freeway police chase Tuesday after allegedly stabbing his 11-year-old son at home that morning.

According to the Elk Grove Police Department, a woman in Elk Grove, California -- located about 15 minutes south of Sacramento -- called 911 Tuesday morning to report seeing her son lying unresponsive on the ground ... she said she was at work and was viewing surveillance video at the house.

Responding officers found the boy with multiple stab wounds ... he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Rebecca Park Mother And Stepfather Hit With Murder And Torture Charges

A week after a missing pregnant woman was found mutilated and murdered in a Michigan forest, the woman's parents have been charged with a slew of horrific crimes -- including murder and torture.

Rebecca Park's mother and stepfather -- Cortney and Bradly Bartholomew -- are accused of luring 22-year-old Rebecca, who was 38 weeks pregnant, to their home in Wexford County on November 3, according to the Michigan Department of Attorney General.

Prosecutors allege Cortney and Bradly tortured Rebecca while trying to remove her unborn baby from her womb, resulting in the death of both mother and child.

Ray J is a free man ... at least for now -- after posting a $50K bond and beelining it to the bail bondsman.

The entertainer was seen leaving a Los Angeles-area jail Thursday afternoon with his entourage in tow ... just hours after he was taken into custody and booked on a charge of making a criminal threat.

Ray -- dressed in an all black 'fit -- kept his head down and took a call as he walked out, showing no interest in answering any questions. Instead, a man identifying himself as Ray J's manager did all the talking, telling the pap Ray called him from inside and he came right over to get him out.

Pei Chung Arrest For Dining And Dashing Could Lead To Deportation

An aspiring influencer could be deported after her alleged dine-and-dash stunts at several restaurants in New York City landed her behind bars.

Pei Chung began menacing restaurants in Brooklyn this past October ... her M.O. involved running up a tab with pricey items before complaining she couldn't pay her bill, which resulted in eight arrests, according to the New York Post.

After eating at Mole Mexican Bar and Grill in Williamsburg on Friday, the 34-year-old allegedly refused to pay the bill ... she was arrested for theft of services and was held in jail at Rikers Island on $4,500 bond.

Chung's been hit with an immigration warrant, according to the Department of Corrections' website, and her current immigration status is unknown. She came to the United States on a student visa in 2019 to attend Pratt Institute, where she remained until 2021, and a law enforcement source told the New York Post Chung had overstayed her visa.

Chung often shared posts on Instagram bragging about the meals she was enjoying, and made a habit out of showing off expensive clothing and accessories.

Chung is $40,000 behind on rent on her studio apartment -- monthly rent is $3,350 -- in Williamsburg. She's being evicted ... a judge ordered her to leave by December 1, but she could still be in custody at the end of this month.

She may end up facing a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement hearing and the possibility of being deported.

The New York Post reports she was ordered by a judge Wednesday to get a psychiatric evaluation ... her attorney told the judge Chung doesn't comprehend the charges against her and asked for the evaluation. Chung did not appear in court.

A man who drove his car into a densely packed group of fans at a Liverpool FC parade, hurting 130 people, including a 6-month-old baby, has pleaded guilty to all 31 charges he was facing.

Paul Doyle -- the 54-year-old man who was behind the wheel of the Ford Galaxy Titanium --  switched course on the second day of his trial this week, opting to change his plea and accept responsibility for the incident.

Doyle pleaded guilty to 17 charges of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent, nine counts of causing GBH with intent and three counts of wounding with intent.

A woman with ties to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt's family is reportedly in ICE custody after being arrested earlier this month.

The woman, Bruna Caroline Ferreira, is from Brazil and the mother of Leavitt's nephew ... she was arrested near Boston on November 12, according to her attorney, who spoke with CNN.

The outlet reports Leavitt's nephew lives full-time in New Hampshire with her brother, Michael. Meanwhile, Karoline has apparently not spoken to Ferreira in years.
