With her eight children and a "Kate Plus 8" camera crew in tow, Kate Gosselin did some bargain shopping in NYC's Chinatown on Wednesday.



A mother of eight can never have too many fake Gucci bags or knock-off Rolex watches.

The ugly battle between the families in the Bruce Beresford-Redman case just got uglier -- now BBR is accusing his former sister-in-laws of trying to force his two children to see a shrink who does not shy away from the camera.



BBR, along with his mother and father, filed legal docs -- obtained by TMZ -- in which they object to a bid by his murdered wife's sisters to replace his children's therapist with Dr. Charles Sophy, a prominent Bev Hills children's shrink.

BBR's family cites Sophy's website, which contains "a seven minute media reel with clips from Dr. Sophy's multiple media and television appearances on shows such as Vh1's Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, Vh1's Sober House, The Today Show, Larry King Live, CNN, Fox 11 News, Rachael Ray and Access Hollywood among others."

The docs go on:  "Dr. Sophy's website also features a link for 'Celebrity Rehab' where he is shown interviewing a celebrity at the Pasadena Rehab center."

And there's this ... "The actual media reel shows Dr. Sophy commentating on Jon & Kate, the Jackson children, Balloon Boy and Heath Ledger's death."

Bruce's dad, David, says in his declaration, "The fact that Carla and Jeanne [Monica's sisters] would even suggest Dr. Sophy as the children's therapist shows what little regard they have for best interests of the children."

BBR claims the therapist who is currently seeing his children is doing a great job. 

Kate Gosselin made a sad statement about her personal life this weekend -- telling the paparazzi, "I am lonely and I do need help."



Gosselin was loading groceries into her car at a Whole Foods in Reading, PA this weekend, when the paps began to ask about rumors that Kate would be starring in an Internet dating show.

Kate sorta danced around the rumors ... but she did try to clear up one thing -- saying, "I'm not mean like everyone says I am."

In an attempt to bring it back and make it hip, R&B singer Cassie rocked a 2009 old skool Kate Gosselin bi-level reverse mullet raccoon weave to a music event in NYC on Wednesday.



She's gets an A for effort at least.

We're just sayin'.

Kate Gosselin managed to keep her family's career afloat last week -- by taking the kiddies on a birthday trip right out of the Bindi Irwin playbook.



Gosselin and the kids went down to Kissimmee, Florida where, we're told, they hooked up with Boggy Creek Airboat Rides for a private tour.

Sources say the family was taken to a secluded area where Kate threw a birthday bash for the kids complete with pinatas -- and TLC was there to film the whole thing ... naturally.

Talk about upstaging Daddy's birthday party for the kids.

 

With his eight kids over at Kate's place, Jon Gosselin went straight to a bar in Maryland last night -- but he wasn't there to booze, he was there to work.



TMZ has learned Gosselin served as a "celebrity" bartender at the Ott House Pub in the town of Emmitsburg.

But get this -- Gosselin didn't take in a single dime last night because the whole thing was a charity event and every cent Jon made in tips went straight to a local food bank.

Despite the good deed, we hear he pours a mean Piña Coladouche.

 

Kate Gosselin let her sextuplets have the best birthday gift ... new bikes, trip to Disney World, iPads time with their dad Jon Gosselin.


Jon picked up his adorable tots from the school bus stop near their home in Pennsylvania this afternoon.  The sextuplets turned six today.

Ain't no party like a Gosselin party.

Kate Gosselin has decided to give her sextuplets the one thing they want on their birthday that no one else on that planet would wish for -- a little quality time with Jon Gosselin.


A source close to Kate tells TMZ she has offered to let the kids see Jon this afternoon -- even though it isn't technically his day in the custody agreement.



We're told Kate plans to cook the kids a special birthday breakfast, ship 'em off to school, and then Jon could have the kids in the afternoon ... should he so choose.

No word yet on if Jon accepted the offer.

There's one essential rule of divorce warfare ... know your enemy -- So Jon Gosselin did some bonin' up about Kate in the bargain bin at Target.


Jon flipped through ex-wife Kate Gosselin's memoir "I Just Want You To Know: Letters To My Kids On Love, Faith, and Family" yesterday at a mega-store in Pennsylvania.

He, like everybody else, didn't actually buy a copy.

Kate Gosselin may not have developed rhythm or grace during her amazing stint on "Dancing with the Stars" -- but she did lock down a tight tummy.



The 35-year-old mother of eight showed off her flat stomach while heading to an organic cafe in Pennsylvania on Wednesday.

When you have two reality shows in the works, you gotta look as good as humanly possible.

Jon and Kate Gosselin better stock up on their #2 pencils -- TMZ has learned the reality parents have each been required to go to a court-mandated parenting class.



The judge in their bitter custody dispute has ordered both Jon and Kate to complete a 3-hour parenting class titled "Children in the Middle" -- a requirement for all parents involved in a custody war in Berks County, PA.

We're told Jon and Kate will NOT be required to take the class together -- in fact, parents are often encouraged to take separate classes ... for obvious reasons.  They have until June 8 to complete the class.

As for the course material -- the parents will learn about the dangers of exposing their children to loyalty conflicts ... like when one parent talks smack about the other parent's financial situation.
