The star rookie caused quite the stir when he took the field for his first official game ... sporting a buzzed haircut as the Jags faced the Carolina Panthers at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla.

8:02 AM PT -- Kelly Davis tells TMZ Sports ... she did strike Laura Watterson during a dispute at the chiropractor's office, though she claimed she was acting in self-defense.

Davis said she showed up to Watterson's work to speak with her about sleeping with Thomas Davis ... but at one point during their conversation, Watterson grabbed her arm and dug her nails into it.

"That's when I slapped her," Kelly said.

Kelly claimed she hit Watterson again after she had been escorted out of the office.

Kelly told us the entire ordeal did not stem from jealousy -- rather, she said she merely wanted to talk with Watterson after she had worked closely with Kelly, Thomas and their son over the years.

"I'm not jealous," she said. "I don't want that man [Thomas] back ever in my life."

Thomas Davis' estranged wife, Kelly Davis, was arrested earlier this week ... after she allegedly attacked a woman for hooking up with the former NFL superstar.

Bad Bunny's wrapping up his Puerto Rico residency on a sour note after the singer came up hobbling mid-performance with a knee injury.

Check it out ... footage from Bunny's final show from his "No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí" residency in San Juan shows the singer hopping back and forth while serenading his adoring fans. Though moments later, his knee seems to move in a direction it shouldn't.

Billy Porter is cutting his Broadway return short ... stepping away from "Cabaret" weeks earlier than expected due to a serious health scare.

On Sunday, producers for the Broadway revival announced the Tony winner is battling a "serious case of sepsis" and will not finish his originally scheduled run at New York City's August Wilson Theatre. Porter was slated to star as the Emcee through October 21, but his final performance will now be September 21.

"His doctors are confident that he will make a full recovery but have advised him to maintain a restful schedule," read a statement on the show's social media accounts.
