WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert is finally weighing in on the league's raging transgender athlete debate ... acknowledging the issue isn't going away -- and neither are the conversations about it.

Engelbert addressed the controversy in a memo sent to teams Friday and obtained by the AP ... saying she expects transgender participation in women's basketball to continue getting "significant attention."

The commish stopped short of taking a side ... but said the league will approach the issue thoughtfully and respectfully, while stressing "preserving the integrity of our game and ensuring fair competition" remain among its highest priorities.

"Highlander" star Christopher Lambert suffered a medical emergency at a convention Saturday and was whisked away by an ambulance, TMZ has learned.

Christopher was signing autographs at the Steel City Con in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania when he suddenly collapsed, a witness tells us. He was then transported from the convention hall via ambulance.

No worries here -- a rep for the star tells TMZ he is "perfectly ok" and resting in his hotel room. They say he had not gotten sleep the night before and hadn't eaten much during the day, which dropped his blood sugar.

More than a year after fashion designer Martha Nolan-O'Slatarra was found dead aboard a yacht in Montauk ... disturbing new details are emerging about the condition she was in when first responders arrived.

According to newly revealed medical records obtained by the New York Post, EMTs found the 33-year-old cold to the touch with dried blood around her mouth, chest and head ... and additional blood on the floor near her body.

Martha was found unresponsive aboard the yacht at the Montauk Yacht Club around midnight on August 5, 2025. Good Samaritans and first responders attempted CPR ... but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A frantic search for a 5-year-old boy with autism ended in heartbreak ... after authorities say he was found dead in a pond just 30 feet from his Florida home.

The nonverbal child was last seen by his father around 5 AM Friday inside their Tampa-area home, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. His dad told investigators the two fell back asleep ... and when he woke around 9 AM, his son was gone.

The father searched the home and discovered a screened-in area had been broken and pushed open. After looking around outside, he called 911.

Over 140 sheriff's office units joined the search, along with aviation, drones, K-9s and a dive team. Chronister said a police dog repeatedly circled a retention pond about 30 feet behind the home ... leading divers to enter the water.
