U.S. Olympic hero Ryan Lochte attempted a social experiment yesterday -- could he still land chicks while wearing the dumbest bathing suit imaginable? The answer, of course, was yes.

Lochte donned a pink Speedo of his own design while frolicking around at the Azure Luxury Pool at The Palazzo hotel in Las Vegas.

It was a battle of the blinged out bodysuits, as Jennifer Lopez poured all of her bootyful talents into a skintight onesie at her concert in L.A. on Thursday (left) -- while Spice Girl Mel B went for the gold in her sexy Olympic Closing Ceremonies uniform on Sunday (right).

Question is ...

Ryan Lochte's annoying catchphrase "Jeah!" is a friggin' GOLD MINE -- at least that's what the swimmer believes ... because he just filed docs to lock up a trademark for the made-up word.

According to the trademark docs, Ryan wants to use the word on sunglasses, workout DVDs, gift cards, mugs, drinking glasses, trading cards, calendars, posters, swimsuits, swim caps, sports hats, and water bottles.

In fact, Lochte's already getting the party started on his website -- selling "Jeah"-themed tees, hats, and sunglasses.

According to a 2009 interview, Ryan got the phrase from rapper Young Jeezy, who uses a similar word "Chea!" in his songs. Ryan says he changed it a little to "Jeah!" ... and says it means something "good." (skip to 1:00)

Proving he wont be bound by his name, "Spend It" rapper 2 Chainz sported an ADDITIONAL gold necklace at his album release party in Atlanta last night.

Lady Gaga is firing back at fur critics ... claiming militant animal rights activists are "childish" and "abusive" ... and need to respect her right to wear whatever the hell she wants ... even if it's from a dead animal.

Gaga just issued a statement on her website in response to a recent Little Monster backlash after the singer rocked several fur coats out in public ... and she seems to aim the post directly at the same PETA activists who flour-bombed Kim Kardashian earlier this year.

"I want you to know that I care deeply about your feelings and views, and I will always support your philosophies about life," Gaga writes ... adding, "I do not however support violent, abusive, and childish campaigns for ANY CAUSE."

She adds, "You see a carcass, I see a museum pièce de résistance."

Gaga concludes, "I respect your views, please respect mine. And to campaigners, Save your flour to make bread for the children who are hungry. And Kim Kardashian is fabulous."

Lindsay Lohan's back to her old ways -- at least in the reckless spending department ... because TMZ has learned, she recently dropped nearly $3,000 on a surf-themed shopping spree in O.C.

Lindsay and her bro Cody hit up the famous Jack's surf shop in Huntington Beach Friday -- and according to the receipt, the actress spent a total of $2,723 on surfer swag for her brother ... and that was WITH a 30% famous-person discount.

We're told Cody's an aspiring surfer -- and Lindsay wants to encourage him as much as possible by kitting him out.

Doing his best Michael Phelps impersonation, opera singer Andrea Bocelli went for the gold and put his God given talents on display in a blue skimpy one piece mankini on a yacht in Italy on Wednesday.

The ultra-rich founder of Crocs shoes was SO DRUNK when he was arrested for DUI this weekend, he told cops to "f*ck" themselves "in the ass" ... and delusionally insisted he was dating Taylor Swift ... this according to the insane police report.

The police docs show ... cops in Boulder, CO responded to a call about a man who was passed out in front of his 2010 Porsche Panamera Saturday night. When officers arrived to the scene, medics were already treating the man ... and described him as "drunk as crap."

The man turned out to be 51-year-old George Boedecker ... and the night was about to get A LOT crazier.

According to the police report, obtained by TheSmokingGun.com, George initially told officials he had just pulled over to take a nap ... but later insisted his GF was driving the car ... and described her as "batsh*t crazy."

When cops began to ask about the mysterious GF, George reportedly told police she's a really f*cking famous” singer ... and then asked the cops if they were familiar with Taylor Swift.

When asked for his address, George reportedly replied, "I have 17 f*cking homes."

As cops decided to arrest George for DUI, the man allegedly told cops he "knew his f*cking rights" ... and told one officer, "Go f*ck yourselves in the ass."

Cops say George told one cop he was now his "enemy for life" and hoped he would "f*cking die."

Hulk Hogan's ex-wife Linda Hogan let it all hang out in a new music video ... by flashing her behemoth badonkadonk in a thong and sheer dress type thing.

TMZ broke the story ... Sapp filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy earlier this year ... claiming he's racked up millions of dollars in debts since he retired from the NFL. Warren's expensive shoe habit probably didn't help the situation.

A major skateboard company is being accused of putting "racism for sale" ... after selling a shirt featuring two Asian men under the words, "Gooks of Hazzard."

The company under fire is Baker Skateboards ... which is owned by skating legend Andrew Reynolds ... who's been featured as a character in several of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater video games.

Baker is currently selling the "Hazzard" shirt on its website. The shirt features two Asian men in a car named the "General Li." One of the men is pro skater Don "The Nuge" Nguyen -- who's sponsored by Baker.

The shirt also features a tagline, "Good Orr Boys" ... a play on the stereotype of an Asian accent.

But while it appears The Nuge approves of the shirt, the Asian American Justice Center feels differently ... a rep for the organization tells us it's "unacceptable for Baker Skateboards to create a depiction of Asian Americans which uses racial slurs and perpetuates racist stereotypes.”

The org. adds, "Baker Skateboards, and the outlets that sell this shirt, should be aware that use of the term 'gook' on their apparel is offensive and quite simply amounts to racism for sale. No one should seek to profit from racism.”

While Olympians vie for medal glory in London, a different battle was being waged by actor Shia LaBeouf and Jennifer Aniston's main man Justin Theroux on the streets of NYC yesterday ... the rich celebrity hipster challenge.

Representing the scraggly, bearded, thrift store twenty-something contingent was contractually bound "Transformers" star LaBeouf (left), while unfortunate "Rock of Ages" screenwriter Theroux defended the muscled, goth, skinny jean clad, 40 and over intelligentsia (right).

"2 Broke Girls" star Kat Dennings ripped a page from the Christina Hendricks guide to the red carpet ... by squeezing her gals into a very cleavage-friendly blue dress this weekend.

Dennings was trying to generate interest in her show at a media event for the Television Critics Association in Beverly Hills. Mission accomplished.
