Donald Gibb battled throat cancer and suffered a heart attack in the weeks leading up to his death last night ... TMZ has learned.

Donald's son, Travis, tells TMZ ... his dad -- best known for playing the lovable brute "Ogre" in the "Revenge of the Nerds" franchise -- was fighting throat cancer at the time of his passing. He says Donald also suffered a heart attack a couple of weeks ago, but ultimately, it was the cancer that took his life.

We're told Donald was a fighter who battled the disease relentlessly, never losing his toughness even as his health declined.

Samuel Monroe Jr. showed a glimmer of hope amid his serious health battle ... but TMZ has learned the actor has experienced a severe downturn, as his condition continues to decline.

Samuel's wife Shawna Stewart tells TMZ ... the "Menace II Society" actor is back on life support, in a medically induced coma ... and has required three blood transfusions in a matter of days, as his body is decimated by MRSA pneumonia and meningitis. He's been placed back on dialysis.

The update is a devastating one for his family and friends ... since just a few days ago, Sam seemed to be on the mend ... taken off the ventilator and conscious as his blood pressure stabilized. But the hopeful moment did not last long.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver released a statement on the loss ... saying, "Jason Collins’ impact and influence extended far beyond basketball as he helped make the NBA, WNBA and larger sports community more inclusive and welcoming for future generations."

"He exemplified outstanding leadership and professionalism throughout his 13-year NBA career and in his dedicated work as an NBA Cares Ambassador," he added. "Jason will be remembered not only for breaking barriers, but also for the kindness and humanity that defined his life and touched so many others."

Donald Trump is heading back to the doc ... for his 4th publicized appointment since taking office again in 2025 ... amid rabid speculation his health is in decline.

The White House announced Monday the prez has a scheduled medical and dental checkup on May 26 at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. No further information was given, though this is described as an annual physical exam.

As you know, the 79-year-old president's health is often a topic of debate, considering his widely publicized love of fast food -- namely McDonald's -- and lack of exercise.

Cody Simpson has suffered a major blow to his musical comeback -- he's suffering from a vocal cord hemorrhage, leaving him unable to sing and forcing him to cancel upcoming shows.

The Aussie pop star shared the news of his injury on social media Monday ... telling fans he was overzealous in the studio and sang through a sinus infection he didn't know he had. He explained he "assumed it was just fatigue and kept showing up to the studio until one day I could no longer sing."

He noted he's been on and off vocal rest for the last month, and was just prescribed another 2 weeks of silence in hopes of avoiding surgery. He said this has delayed his work on his upcoming album and new singles ... but he's doing all he can with instrumentals for the time being.

Katya shared the health update with fans online, revealing doctors discovered a bowel obstruction in her small intestine that required immediate surgery.

According to her post, surgeons had to decompress her stomach, clear out her intestines, and remove and reconnect parts of both her small and large intestine.

The program blends clinical therapy with holistic options like meditation and art therapy, but also includes amenities for someone like Britney -- such as private suites, chef-prepared meals, a gym, pool and even recreational spaces.

Bonnie Tyler has been placed in an induced coma to "aid her recovery" following an emergency surgery earlier this week.

The "Total Eclipse of the Heart" singer's manager Matt Davis tells TMZ ... "We know that you all wish her well and ask for privacy at this difficult time please. We will issue a further statement when we are able to."

We told you about the emergency surgery Bonnie underwent in Faro, Portugal -- she reportedly suffered from an intestinal perforation. Her rep told us ... "The surgery went well and she is now recuperating. We know that all of her family, friends and fans will be concerned about this news and will be wishing her well for a full and swift recovery."

Bonnie had a jam-packed concert schedule this year ... including more than 2 dozen shows across Europe. She was also expected to play at the SummerLUST Music Festival in Għaxaq, Malta on May 22 and in Wiesmoor, Germany on May 30.

In addition to "Total Eclipse of the Heart," the '80s superstar is known for "Holding Out for a Hero" and "Here She Comes."

Claire Brosseau -- a former actress who's credited on projects starring James Franco and Daniel Stern -- is begging a Canadian court to let her end her own life.

She filed an emergency motion with the court Monday to receive medically-assisted suicide, saying her sole underlying cause is "unbearable" mental illness ... Canada's CTV News reports.

Claire spoke outside the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, saying her severe bipolar and post-traumatic stress disorders have caused "unrelenting suffering."

Bonnie Tyler remains hospitalized in Portugal after having an emergency intestinal surgery, TMZ has learned.

A rep tells us ... "The surgery went well and she is now recuperating. We know that all of her family, friends and fans will be concerned about this news and will be wishing her well for a full and swift recovery."

They didn't say why Bonnie needed the procedure, but some reports are saying she sought medical help after a few days of abdominal pain ... and doctors found an intestinal perforation.

'Jersey Shore's Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Addresses 'Silent' Depression, bipolar and anxiety struggles

"Jersey Shore" star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has fully addressed fans' concerns over his health after a clip of him dozing off during a recent cast interview went viral.

The reality TV personality posted on his Instagram Story Tuesday to lay it all out for fans, first thanking them for their outreach and concern ... and then getting raw by noting he deals with "depression, bipolar and anxiety in silence" every day. Ronnie says he takes prescription medication to help manage his symptoms and even goes to therapy on a weekly basis ... but there no permanent fix.

He goes on to reference the recent concerning clip, saying it was evidence of his ongoing struggles and side effects caused by his prescriptions paired with "recent emotional events" that started to impact him.

The MTV trailblazer explains ... "Wanting to be with my castmates for a press tour celebration at the same time as carrying this weight required me to work through the effects in a public setting. ... I thought I could be strong enough to get through it, but what you saw was me trying to battle through one of my toughest moments."

He concludes the note by saying he will focus on his mental health going forward, and again thanks fans for their concern and even sharing their own stories about their personal struggles.

Ronnie briefly addressed his wellbeing Monday by posting on his Instagram Story as well, writing ... "High functioning depression is waking up each day with a face that works but a heart that doesn’t, doing everything you’re supposed to do while feeling nothing inside, and most days it’s like being trapped in your own life, forced to keep moving even when every part of you wants to stop."

And as you know, this is not the first time Ronnie has gotten real about his trials and tribulations with sobriety and his health.

In addition to love from fans, Ronnie's costar Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino -- who opened his own addiction and mental health treatment centers beginning last fall -- offered support to his costar last week.

He said ... "If he is willing, I will be there for him. My heart is with anyone who is struggling. I have worked hard to protect my sobriety for nearly 11 years, and I honor that every day while continuing to show up with compassion for others."

Lindsay's dad tells TMZ ... he had just had a stent placed in his heart after he had been feeling extremely lethargic and was experiencing shortness of breath for weeks. Just as he thought he was in the clear, he immediately had another medical scare.

Michael tells us this entire ordeal started a couple of weeks ago when he was folding clothes and passed out in his house. After a series of tests, doctors discovered a blockage in his heart which required a stent.

The "Menace II Society" actor -- who's been fighting for his life in an L.A. hospital -- is suddenly showing meaningful improvements amid a brutal health crisis that had his family fearing the worst.

Shawna Stewart, Samuel's wife, tells TMZ ... as of Sunday, doctors were able to stop the dialysis ... because his kidneys are tremendously improving. The doctors were also able to stop blood pressure medication, thanks to his levels finally looking better.

Rudy's doctor hopped on Fox News and provided a positive health update for the former New York City mayor ... saying he's doing much better Monday after having a priest come to the hospital and anoint him.

As we reported on Sunday ... 81-year-old Rudy was rushed to a Florida hospital in critical condition ... suffering from a bout with pneumonia.
