Yasiel Puig Cops Cruising His Hood After 4th Home Burglary

Published | Updated

If Dodgers slugger Yasiel Puig's house is hit by burglars again ... it won't be because of a lack of effort by cops.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... cops have significantly increased their presence in the San Fernando Valley area where Puig's home -- and so many others -- have been hit by thieves.

Puig's 4th burglary -- the last one was this week -- was the catalyst for law enforcement to kick things up to nab some of these bad guys.

We broke the story ... LAPD got video footage of the suspects breaking into Puig's home after one of them kicked the front door open. Cops believe there are 3 suspects involved in the latest burglary ... and say they're the same perps who tried to steal his stuff on August 30.

Incredibly, Yasiel had yet another intruder on his property Thursday night ... but the guy isn't believed to be one of the burglars. Puig has a Ring security system set up at his home to get alerts for any visitors, but so far it hasn't been enough to keep thieves away.

Cops are clearly hoping a boost in neighborhood patrols will do the trick.

Yasiel Puig Burglarized for the 4th Time ... Video of Suspect Released

9/20 5:07 PM PT -- The LAPD has now released a video of the crime going down ... showing one of the suspects smashing in the front door with several kicks. Cops are asking for help in identifying the men involved.

7:07 PM PT -- LAPD has just released a photo of one of the suspects, captured by Puig's home security system.

Cops also provided further details, saying the 3 men -- 2 of which are believed to be black males in their early to mid-20s with slim builds -- ransacked Puig's home then located a safe in the second-floor master bedroom. They allegedly dragged it down the stairs through the living room, but fled without it ... leaving it in the doorway.

LAPD claims the suspects caused about $10k in damages. They have no description so far of the third suspect, who was the driver.

The 3 suspects are believed to be the same burglars who hit Puig's house on August 30.

Yasiel Puig really needs to do something about his home security, 'cause he was burglarized yet again -- the 4TH TIME he's been hit ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us cops were called to Puig's San Fernando Valley home Tuesday night around 8 PM after one of the Dodger's assistants got a security alert on his phone, which showed 3 men leaving Puig's property.

Yasiel has a security camera set up that captures motion, and it automatically sends the video to a cell phone programmed to receive it. When Yasiel's associate saw the footage, he immediately called police ... but the bad guys had already fled.

We're told the men broke in through the back door ... smashing it open. It's unclear at this point if anything was taken.

Yasiel wasn't seen celebrating with his team at Dodger Stadium Tuesday night after their walk-off win against the Rockies, but the game went late ... and he presumably left when he got called about the break-in.

If you're keeping track ... Yasiel's been burglarized now a total of 4 times. He initially got hit last spring while he was away for spring training, then again during the World Series last year ... and a third time just last month. Our sources say cops aren't sure if the burglaries are connected, but it's clear someone is keeping track of Yasiel's work schedule, 'cause he's never been home.

Time to get a watchdog or something, Yas. That's our advice.

Dodgers Star Yasiel Puig Hit a Third Time By Burglars

Published | Updated

L.A. Dodgers star Yasiel Puig has been hit by burglars -- A THIRD TIME.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... at around 11:15 PM Thursday after a Dodgers game Yasiel was not at his San Fernando Valley home when his RING doorbell went off on his phone.

We're told Puig saw 2 guys trying to break into the house through the front door. He yelled at them through the phone and they beat a hasty retreat.

Last November, as Yasiel and his team were losing Game 7 of the World Series, a burglar busted through a window and made off with jewelry. And in March, 2017, he was burglarized to the tune of $500k worth of jewelry.

Just in the last few days, Wiz Khalifa was hit and Christina Milian -- both of whom have homes in the San Fernando Valley -- were also hit by burglars.

Cops believe all the stars who have been hit recently in the San Fernando Valley were not targeted because they were celebrities. HOWEVER ... it seems like basic common sense that when criminals know residents are away -- either because they have scheduled games or have posted their whereabouts on Instagram -- they become targets.

In Yasiel's case, no suspects ... so far.

Justin Verlander Charged $1 Million ... For Being 'Dodger Killer'

Published | Updated

Justin Verlander's World Series ring nearly came with a $1 MILLION price tag ... 'cause an L.A. restaurant (jokingly) hit him with a HUGE "Dodger Killer" fee!!

The Astros ace -- who crushed L.A. in the World Series last year -- was dining at The Cabana Cafe in Bev Hills when, to his surprise, THE BILL CAME OUT TO OVER A MILLION DOLLARS!!

As Verlander read over the receipt, though ... it became clear to him, he just got punk'd.

"Beverly Hills Hotel really making me pay for that World Series win 😂😂," Verlander said of the massive charge.

"Thanks for the great lunch as always!"

As for why Verlander's grubbin' in L.A. this weekend ... he's in town for a series with the Angels.

So, rest easy, Dodgers fans ... for now.

Jon Hamm Revels in Jason Bateman's Sadness ... at Dodger Game

Published | Updated

You can tell who won the Dodgers vs. Cardinals game just by looking at Jon Hamm and Jason Bateman.

Hamm -- easily one of the biggest Cards superfans on the planet -- had a front row seat for St. Louis' 5-2 win over Bateman's Dodgers on Tuesday ... and he made sure J.B. never heard the end of it.

The Dodgers are currently in a tight race for the playoffs ... but have lost 7 of their last 10 games (which might explain why Bateman looks like he just saw a dog get hit by a car).

It wasn't all sadness for Bateman, though ... at least he got to see Manny Machado hit a dinger.

Yay?

It's a tight race in the NL West ... but Eric Karros says he's 100% convinced the Dodgers will scrap together a late season push and make the playoffs.

Also, he's super biased.

Karros -- the L.A. Dodgers' all-time home run leader -- has been involved with the Dodgers organization since 1991. So, he bleeds Dodger Blue, but he also knows when a team is doomed.

So, with the Dodgers currently 1.5 games out of the NL Wild Card spot with only 37 games left in the season ... and only winning 4 out of the last 10 games ... we asked if it's time to stick a fork in 'em.

EK is adamant the Dodgers will pull it together -- they haven't missed the playoffs since 2012 -- and tells us he's putting his faith in one man.

Get your betting slips ready ... 'cause Thomas John has had a premonition -- and it's about to make the Red Sox, Dodgers and degenerates VERY happy.

We got the "Seatbelt Psychic" star at Craig's and asked him for anything that could possibly make us money.

That's when he revealed those from the afterlife (or the clouds or the tea leaves or wherever) are telling him to BET ON L.A. AND BOSTON TO MAKE THE WORLD SERIES!!

"I feel Red Sox and Dodgers in there," Thomas says.

There's more ... John also tells us the spirits are sending him a lot of "good energy" when it comes to Johnny Manziel.

Not sure how to make money off that vision ... but, hey, Montreal Alouettes fans can at least be happy!

Dodgers' superstar Matt Kemp says he's "really excited" for his good friend, Manny Machado, to join the Blue Crew -- telling TMZ Sports the squad has a real shot to win the World Series.

"Great baseball player, friend of mine," Kemp told us at the airport in D.C. ... "I think the city of Los Angeles is really excited at the moment."

Kemp also admits he knew about the Machado trade during the All-Star game on Tuesday -- when he took a selfie with Manny on the field.

We also asked Kemp if he had any advice for LeBron James on how to succeed in L.A. -- and Dodgers fans are REALLY gonna like his answer.

By the way, the Dodgers are 53-43 and tied for 1st in the NL West. Kemp thinks they're just getting going.

Braves Pitcher Anibal Sanchez Hotel Room Burglarized ... During Dodgers Game

Published | Updated

Atlanta Braves pitcher Anibal Sanchez had his hotel room burglarized this weekend while he was on the mound against the Dodgers ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us Sanchez's room was broken into Saturday night while the RHP pitched against the boys in blue as the Braves were in L.A. We're told Sanchez was staying at a hotel near DTLA, and that there doesn't appear any forced entry to his suite.

Sources say more than $100,000 in jewelry were stolen from Sanchez's room, which included 4 watches, among other items. Police are currently investigating the matter.

Definitely a bummer for Sanchez, considering he pitched well against the Dodgers and walked away with a victory for the Braves. He's also fairly new to the team ... not the greatest way to kick things off.

Ex-Dodger Jerry Hairston Jr. We Can Win World Series Without Corey Seager

DOOR'S STILL OPEN

The Dodgers can still win the World Series -- even without star player Corey Seager ... so says W.S. champ and Dodgers analyst Jerry Hairston Jr.

On Monday the team announced that Seager -- the 2016 Rookie of the Year and 2x All-Star -- needed Tommy John surgery ... ending his season.

We called a guy who knows a thing about winning a ring ... Hairston Jr. won a World Series with the Yankees in 2009.

Rest easy L.A., the season ain't over ... 'cause Hairston Jr. says with Cody Bellinger and Clayton Kershaw the team still has enough talent to go all the way.

FYI -- the team is 12-16 ... and in 4th place in the N.L. West.

So, before they win a World Series ... they just gotta make the playoffs.

Dodgers Send in Big Poo Wrecking Crew For Sewage Spill Cleanup

Published | Updated

The Dodgers are going for a clean sweep -- not of their Opening Day opponents, the Giants -- but of the waste water that seeped onto the Dodgers Stadium field.

Sources inside the L.A. County Dept. of Health tell TMZ Sports ... inspectors were roaming the third baseline area next to the dugout Wednesday ... checking out the disgusting mud patch left behind after Tuesday night's sewage spill.

If ya missed it, Big Blue's exhibition game against the Angels was cut short when a waste water pipeline burst, sending up a stench worse than Yu Darvish's World Series outings.

We're told that section of the field had to be vacuumed, and the material shipped off to a waste disposal facility. Then the area was doused with chlorine, lye and other antibacterial chemicals. The Dept. of Health will make another inspection on Thursday morning ... ahead of the Opening Day festivities.

If you're going to the game, that's bleach you're smelling. And maybe a little left over from Yu.

THE JUMP SCARE NEVER FAILS!

Dodgers pitcher Kenta Maeda has a pretty clear New Year's resolution: scaring the living hell outta his translator!!

Since the calendar hit 2018, Kenta's been on a tear messing with his language bro, Will, in the most hilarious ways possible.

On Thursday, the Japanese star punk'd him with a jump scare (again) ... but his best work had to be the classic water bottle coin trick (c'mon, bro ... that one was obvious).

Will's being a great sport through it all ... probably 'cause he's plotting a mistranslating scheme for when the season starts up again.

Not so fast, says stud closer Kenley Jansen -- who told TMZ Sports a repeat trip to the Fall Classic is far from guaranteed even if the Boys in Blue bust their asses.

The Dodgers did just reunite with ex-superstar Matt Kemp, who was out with Kenley at Thursday night's Lakers game ... and you can bet they ain't done makin' moves.

But, whether or not they repeat as NL champs, one thing's clear -- the fans FREAKIN' LOVE 'EM.
