There's a brand new boss in the Miami strip club scene ... ex-NFL star Edgerrin James.

TMZ Sports has learned the 4-time Pro Bowler is launching "One" -- a brand new upscale booty club. Our sources say James is the sole owner.

James has been running "soft openings" to prepare for the official launch -- and has had a bunch of his famous friends (including Clinton Portis and Luther Campbell) inside the joint to check it out.

The strip club biz is super competitive in Miami -- but Edge is a god in the city and happens to be extremely well-connected. If anyone has a shot to break through, it's him.

There's at least one person who thinks Johnny Manziel has a legit shot at an NFL comeback -- Hall of Famer Warren Moon.

"I think Johnny has proven he can play in the National Football League," Moon says ... and if he can stay clean, there's a REAL chance he could be one of the great comeback stories in pro sports.

Here's Rams QB Jared Goff giving back to the community, helping some NFL hopefuls (who will probably be millionaires one day) get ready for the NFL combine.

The Canadian Football League tells TMZ Sports it has launched an investigation into reports Johnny Manziel had an illegal workout with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The issue is simple ... the Hamilton Tiger-Cats currently hold the negotiating rights to Manziel if he wanted to play in the CFL -- so any possible workout would have to go through them first.

But, according to a report out of Canada, Manziel worked out with the Roughriders in Florida in late January.

The Roughriders have called B.S. on the report claiming NO workout took place -- but the CFL says it's investigating nonetheless.

"We are investigating," CFL Communications Director Paulo Senra tells us.
