Vice President J.D. Vance doesn't seem like he has a lot of support over in Italy ... because the veep was booed when he was shown at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony!

J.D. and his wife, Usha Vance, were in the house Friday night at Milan's San Siro Stadium, where Olympians from around the globe were being introduced on the first night of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics ... and the boo birds were flying when the Vances were shown on the jumbotron.

NBC is airing the Olympics, and the network's commentators said the Vances were also being hissed at.

Savannah Guthrie was heavy on her colleagues’ minds this week ... with the NBC team covering the 2026 Winter Olympics taking time on-air to honor her as her family faces a nightmare back home.

As expected, "Today" show host Savannah pulled out of the Milan-Cortina coverage, with Terry Gannon and Mary Carillo stepping in Monday and making it clear their "important, beloved" teammate was deeply missed at the Opening Ceremony.

Carillo got emotional while speaking about Savannah’s love for covering Olympic opening ceremonies, adding, "Right now, of course, Savannah and her family are in unspeakable, unfathomable pain. We know in the U.S. that her extended family is legion. Savannah, my friend, it’s the same way here."

Mariah Carey is getting things started at the 2026 Winter Olympics ... but she's not doing a bobsled run ... she's performing at the opening ceremony over in Italy.

The beloved singer just took the stage Friday night at Milan's San Siro Stadium, where Olympians from around the globe are being introduced on the first night of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

Mariah started off singing in Italian ... paying tribute to one of Italy's most beloved songs by belting out "Volare."

The biggest story out of the 2026 Olympics so far has been reports of a penis-injecting doping scandal rocking the ski jumping community ... but officials say so far, it's nothing but a "wild rumor."

The news spread like wildfire on Thursday ... with outlets stating the World Anti-Doping Agency was keeping a close eye on crotches throughout the sport due to speculation athletes could be pumping their members with hyaluronic acid to get a leg up on the competition.

Why the heck would they do that?? The belief is athletes used the acid to temporarily increase their junk size during suit measurements ... which would result in extra fabric in the groin area -- adding lift to the uniforms to help them jump farther.

Lindsey Vonn's busted knee isn’t slowing her down one bit ... because the ski legend is already back in beast mode like the injury never happened.

The 41-year-old dropped a jaw-dropping workout video Thursday showing her grinding through squats, kicks, side lunges and stability ball drills … and aside from the bulky brace strapped to her left knee, you’d never know she’s dealing with a torn ACL, bone bruise and meniscus damage.

Vonn made it clear she’s not backing off her Olympic dream, either ... firing off a message on Instagram saying, "I'm not giving up," while vowing she's pushing as hard as possible to get back on the slopes.

Mary Carillo's going to be catching plenty of Olympic-level spectacle soon, because she's going to serve as the cohost of NBC's 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Games' Opening Ceremony coverage ... in lieu of the original cohost, Savannah Guthrie.

Carillo, who will be working the Olympics for her 17th time, was picked to replace Guthrie on Wednesday. She'll share hosting duties with Terry Gannon.

NBC Olympics Production President and Executive Producer Molly Carillo confirmed the news ... "We are fortunate to have a deep bench of talented commentators who will step in and fill these roles. Mary is one of the most experienced Olympic commentators ever and a master storyteller. She and Terry will lead the American audience through one of the world’s greatest global moments."

Carillo will stick around after the Opening Ceremony ends and serve as a Games reporter for NBC.

ICYMI ... Guthrie bowed out of cohosting the Opening Ceremony for NBC on Tuesday -- her mother, Nancy, disappeared from her home near Tucson, Arizona this weekend. Savannah's focused on being with her family at the moment.

Investigators say Nancy was taken from her home in the middle of the night.

The 2026 Olympic Games ain't exactly off to an electric start ... 'cause moments after the first event of the Winter Olympics got underway -- the curling venue was forced to pause the action due to a power outage.

It all went down at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium on Wednesday. While fans were excited to watch some action, they only got to enjoy four minutes of it until a power outage struck the building.

According to the AP, the venue's lights began to dim and flicker, prompting a pause in the action. Not long after ... the power came back on -- much to the delight of fans.

Snoop Dogg was blazin' up in Gallarate, Italy today ... but not like that! He's an official  torchbearer for the Olympic Winter Games!

Track stars Sha'Carri Richardson and Christian Coleman have both entered not guilty pleas following last Thursday's arrests ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Alisia Adamson -- who is representing both sprinters -- entered the plea through docs filed in court on Monday. Richardson was arrested on one charge of dangerous excessive speeding ... and cited for several driving violations.

Coleman was arrested for drug paraphernalia and resisting (without violence) during the traffic stop -- both of which are misdemeanors.

Tate McRae is basically the Canadian Benedict Arnold in some fans' eyes this week ... after the pop star dropped a promo hyping up Team USA in the Olympics -- despite hailing from the North.

The "Revolving door" singer shared the ad on her Instagram ... showing her skiing up to an owl to discuss NBC's packed schedule this weekend -- the Winter Games' Opening Ceremony, figure skating events, Lindsey Vonn's big return, and oh yeah, the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Along with a few "who?" jokes, McRae tells the owl she's stoked to catch the Red, White and Blue in action ... which has ruffled some feathers.

Savannah Guthrie's completely focused on her personal life after her mother was abducted from her Arizona home ... so, she's stepping back from Winter Olympics coverage.

NBC made the announcement in a statement Wednesday ... saying, "Savannah will not be joining us at the Olympics as she focuses on being with her family during this difficult time. Our hearts are with her and the entire Guthrie family as the search continues for their mother. We will share additional information about our Opening Ceremony coverage plans soon.”

As you know ... Savannah's 84-year-old mom, Nancy, was last seen Saturday around 9:30 PM ... she was reported missing around noon the next day. Authorities quickly confirmed to the public there were concerning signs at her home that indicated a crime. It was later determined Nancy was abducted from the residence.

Lindsey Vonn just confirmed she ruptured her ACL after wiping out days before the 2026 Winter Olympics ... but she has no plans to let the injury sideline her from competing in Italy.

Vonn shared the news at a press conference on Tuesday in Milan ... saying she suffered bone bruising and "meniscal damage" as a result of the crash.

Despite that, she actually hit the slopes Tuesday with a brace on her knee -- saying "It feels stable, it feels strong."

She plans on giving it a go once the Games kick off later this week ... saying, "I will do everything in my power to be in the starting gate."

Sha'Carri Richardson PLEADED with the police officer who stopped her for allegedly driving over 100 MPH, begging him not to arrest her ... but she still left the scene in handcuffs.

TMZ Sports obtained the body-worn camera from the Orange County Sheriff's Office deputy ... and it shows the Olympic athlete doing everything in her power to avoid winding up in jail.

The clip starts with the officer catching up to Richardson's Aston Martin before activating his lights and sirens and pulling her over.

The deputy approaches her, and it's clear he isn't happy from the jump, telling Sha'Carri ... "I'd wipe that smile off your face," before explaining she was being "stopped for dangerous, excessive speeding."

Sha'Carri Richardson wasn't the only track star arrested on Thursday -- her boyfriend, sprinter Christian Coleman, was busted for drug paraphernalia and resisting during the traffic stop, TMZ Sports has learned.

We've obtained the arrest affidavit from the medalist's run-in with police ... and it turns out it was a bit of a Team USA hangout of sorts -- with CC, as well as fellow sprinter Twanisha Terry, getting name-dropped.

The report states cops were driving north on State Road 429 in Winter Garden, Florida around noon on Thursday ... when a gray vehicle approached at a rapid speed. When using radar, the cop says the car at one point reached up to 104 MPH.

Lindsey Vonn wiped out on the slopes of Switzerland during a World Cup race Friday -- suffering a knee injury one week before the Olympics, according to reports.

The skiing legend was zipping down a snow-covered mountain at the World Cup race in Crans-Montana when she took a nasty spill on camera -- and messed up her leg.

Check out video of the accident ... at first, Lindsey seems to be in total control as she skis down the mountain ... but then, as she hits a turn after landing a jump, everything goes awry and she wipes out in a big way.
