Outer Banks

The cocreator/director of "Outer Banks" put his hands on a production assistant and shook her while shouting in her face, and several of the show's stars had to intervene ... TMZ has learned.

Multiple sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... the show went back into production this week in Dubrovnik, Croatia. We're told "tensions were high" on the set, and we're told things came to an immediate boil when Jonas Pate grabbed the female P.A.

We're told that as Pate shook and screamed at her, Chase Stokes separated them and Madelyn Cline also jumped in to de-escalate the situation.

Netflix's popular show "Outer Banks" is currently filming the fifth and final season, and while Madison Bailey's character is on standby, she's reminding her 9 million Instagram followers just how dang hot she is!!!

Bailey -- who plays Kiara -- recently soaked up the sun, and shared a series of shots in an Instagram carousel with the caption, "in no rush."

Lost in the beauty of Puerto Rico, the 26-year-old donned a black bikini top and paired her cool n' casual look with a leopard bandana.

J. Anthony Crane found himself in the middle of a political firestorm after lobbing a snarky comment at conservative influencer Raquel Debono on social media.

Debono, who's known online for her glammed-up, right-wing persona and viral "Make America Hot Again" campaign, recently shared a video joking that no one sat in her row during a flight because she was wearing Trump-branded apparel.

The clip was meant to be tongue-in-cheek -- but Crane didn’t find it amusing. The "Outer Banks" actor jumped into the comments with a blunt insult writing "Check her diapers."

Trouble in paradise for "Outer Banks" star Madison Bailey and her girlfriend Mariah Linney -- 'cause the pair just hit that unfollow button on each other's IG profiles.

There’s no official confirmation on a split just yet -- but with Mariah posting some seriously cryptic quotes about being hurt on her Stories, all signs are pointing to a breakup.

One of the quotes Mariah shared hinted at some serious emotional fallout -- saying she wanted to speak up and make the other person feel what she went through.

"Outer Banks" returned with new season 4 episodes last week ... yet all people can talk about is a rumored feud between costars Rudy Pankow and Madison Bailey.

But, it seems the gossip is a bunch of hogwash, as sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... there is no feud or beef between Rudy and Madison.

Still, fans seemed convinced when word started circulating about an alleged rift between the 2 actors ... with some claiming Rudy and Madison stopped interacting as much IRL and on social media after getting into new relationships.

Madelyn Cline looked pretty confused while trying to get the heck outta Dodge this week ... pulling on the wrong car door multiple times while leaving her hotel post-Met Gala.

Check out this hilarious video of the "Outer Banks" star leaving her luxury hotel in New York City, rolling bag in hand and paparazzi cameras flashing away. She heads toward the curb and yanks open the door to a four-door sedan ... only to realize it ain't her ride!

Cline closes the door quickly and heads to the next ride, a big black SUV. She opens the door ... and, again, it wasn't for Madelyn. Two for two ... whoopsie.

6:26 PM PT -- Austin North just addressed the situation online, and he says he was having a very severe panic attack where he thought he might die ... adding he doesn't remember much of the incident at all.

AN posted a lengthy description of what he says happened that day -- noting he's been dealing with this condition for a long time, and that the attack he endured Tuesday was by far the worst he's ever experienced. He apologizes to the hospital staff, and says he hopes to shed more light on his condition as time goes on.

Austin North went haywire at a hospital in Vegas this week -- attacking several emergency room staffers and needing to be restrained ... so claim cops, anyway.

According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, officers were dispatched to UMC Hospital Tuesday night for reports of an assault and battery that had occurred in the ER ... and when they arrived, cops say they interviewed the alleged victims.

According to a couple nurses and a phlebotomist -- who claim to have been struck by Austin in a bum-rush they say came out of nowhere -- the actor was throwing fists and shoving all three of them in succession ... for no apparent reason whatsoever.

He's alleged to have punched a nurse in the head, shoved the face of another nurse and pushed the phlebotomist into a table -- only for the latter alleged victim to use a tray nearby to smack him in the head in self-defense.

At this point, cops say Austin was restrained by security officers ... but he's alleged to have attacked one last person -- although it's not clear from the report what her job was.

In any case, they finally cuffed him to a gurney there in the hospital. The cops who arrived to deal with this say they read Austin his Miranda rights when they told him they were arresting him for battery, and when asked if he understood ... they claim he said "yes."

He was hauled off to jail, where he was booked for gross misdemeanor battery ... and posed for this mug shot. Austin has since bonded out. The one thing that isn't addressed in this whole narrative is ... what the hell was he doing in the ER in the first place???

That remains to be seen ... but it's a very bizarre hole in the story. Interestingly enough, Austin was kinda documenting his weekend in Vegas -- the dude has a whole compilation up on his social media page that shows off everything he was up to ... and it looks like a lot.

We've reached out to his team for comment ... so far, no word back.

As expected, Chase Stokes is returning to the teen drama series as John B. Routledge -- aka ringleader of the Pogues gang -- along with Rudy Pankow as JJ Maybank.

The cast seemingly took plenty of time to hang while on breaks from shooting ... posing like old friends in a series of photos we've obtained.

Madelyn Cline will be making a comeback as Sarah Cameron and Jonathan Daviss will return as Pope Heyward ... ditto Carlacia Grant as Cleo, who will now be a regular on the show.

By the looks of the BTS pics, the cast was sure to mix in some fun while working all those hours to deliver the drama to fans.

Netflix has already announced some new faces in the cast, including Andy McQueen, Lou Ferrigno Jr., and Fiona Palomo.
