Mitt Romney has spoken out after his sister-in-law Carrie Elizabeth Romney was found dead Friday ... describing her death as a heartbreaking loss for his family.

Romney told the Daily Mail ... "Our family is heartbroken by the loss of Carrie, who brought warmth and love to all our lives. We ask for privacy during this difficult time."

The sudden death happened Friday night ... that's when she was found dead on the street next to a parking garage in Valencia, California -- a suburb just north of L.A. -- according to the L.A. County Coroner's Office.

Carrie Romney was found dead on the street next to a parking garage in Valencia, California -- a suburb just north of L.A. -- according to the L.A. County Coroner's Office.

Paramedics responded to the scene around 8:30 PM Friday, October 10, on the 24500 block of Town Center Drive near the Valencia Town Center shopping mall.

The 64-year-old may have fallen, or jumped, according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau ... no foul play is suspected.

Eliya Cohen -- formerly a hostage in Gaza -- tells TMZ President Donald Trump has gained massive popularity in Israel thanks to the new peace deal ... but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu? Not so much.

The United States has a complicated, evolving history with its borders ... and Tom Homan's been in charge of them since 2024.

The "border czar" -- an informal term designating executive oversight of managing the country's land, air and sea borders, and deportations -- has an extensive history with law enforcement ... including as the subject of a probe into an allegation he accepted a cash bribe.

We're going to take a look into Homan's professional background and see how he ended up at the center of a formal investigation.

Homan began his career in law enforcement, serving as a police officer in upstate New York before starting as a Border Patrol agent in the 1980s, according to MSNBC.

President Barack Obama tapped Homan to lead ICE's deportation branch in 2013 following several promotions.

Homan was appointed by President Donald Trump to head ICE in 2017, and he became known for his tough approach to immigrants looking to cross the border.

Although he sought to become ICE's permanent director, his nomination ended up stalling in the Senate, as many Democrats were opposed to his confirmation ... he announced plans to retire in 2018.

Homan ended up staying busy within the law enforcement world, founding a consulting firm -- Homeland Strategic Consulting -- which reportedly worked with the departments of Justice, Defense, and Homeland Security.

He also stayed pretty close to Trump and his political allies during President Joe Biden's administration, and he worked as contributor at Fox News.

Plenty of folks expected him to serve in Trump's second administration, and he signed on to act as 47's border czar in November 2024, according to the Associated Press. Homan's new role didn't require Senate confirmation.

Homan found himself in hot water in September 2025 after reports surfaced that he allegedly accepted a bag with $50,000 cash inside from undercover FBI agents in 2024.

Homan allegedly assured the agents he would be able to assist in securing government contracts during the second Trump administration.

Although an investigation was opened into Homan's alleged activities, it was ultimately closed in early 2025 by the Trump Dept. of Justice, and he wasn't charged with any crimes.

An Arkansas dad charged with killing his 14-year-old daughter’s accused sexual predator is now running for sheriff ... saying his fight for justice showed him exactly how law enforcement drops the ball.

Aaron Spencer -- charged with fatally shooting 67-year-old Michael Fosler last year -- kicked off his run for Lonoke County Sheriff in a Facebook video ... calling out "failures" in law enforcement and the courts.

Court docs say 37-year-old Spencer -- a military veteran -- was charged with second-degree murder last October for allegedly killing Fosler -- who was already facing multiple sex crime charges against Spencer’s daughter -- after finding him in a truck with her.

It looks like Donald Trump might be rooting for the Dallas Mavericks a little harder in the future ... because he gave a shout-out to one of the team's owners -- and Trump mega-donor -- Miriam Adelson, during his speech to the Knesset in Israel on Monday.

The President credited Adelson, who was present while he addressed the Israeli parliament, with helping him make key decisions regarding U.S. policy about the country, according to Reuters.

Trump said Miriam and her late husband Sheldon were in close contact with him and advised him on matters regarding Israel in both of his terms in office. A senior U.S. official claimed she pressed Trump to focus on having hostages taken by Hamas in October 2023 returned from Gaza to Israel.

Miriam Adelson is an Israeli-born physician whose late husband built much of their multibillion-dollar fortune as the head of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation.

The couple became major donors for the campaigns of various conservative politicians -- including the current POTUS.

Sheldon died in 2021, and Miriam subsequently purchased majority ownership of the Mavs from Mark Cuban -- for a cool $3.5 billion -- in 2023.

George Stephanopoulos has made a career out of having extensive conversations with high-profile individuals ... but JD Vance apparently didn't make the cut on Sunday.

Stephanopoulos and the Vice President butted heads on an episode of "This Week" Sunday after Stephanopoulos asked Vance about an FBI investigation of border czar Tom Homan allegedly taking a cash bribe in 2024.

Homan allegedly pocketed $50,000 of cold, hard cash from undercover FBI agents and reportedly stated he could help them land government contracts in the second Trump administration. The investigation was closed once Trump took office, and he was never charged with any crimes.

Vance claimed Stephanopoulos was "losing credibility" -- and viewers -- by bringing up the allegations about the border czar.

The Vice President then accused the former White House Communications Director of going down what he described as a "weird left-wing rabbit hole."

Stephanopoulos responded by stating Vance hadn't answered his question before thanking him for his time and going to commercial.

Portland is protesting in the most Portland way possible ... naked!

Oregon's biggest city showed a lot of balls Sunday, taking to the streets in next-to-nothing ... to express their distaste for ongoing federal immigration raids by ICE, and President Donald Trump's threats to send National Guard troops to the city.

Here's the skinny ... The protest was an "emergency" edition of the World Naked Bike Ride -- an event usually taking place in summer -- and involved protesters on bikes, making their way to the city's U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building yesterday.

Poehler kicked off the cold open as MAGA Attorney General Pam Bondi, while Fey shocked the audience with a surprise cameo as gun-toting Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

"Before I don't answer, I'd like to insult you personally," Poehler's Bondi quipped, setting the tone for a roast-style mock hearing filled with political digs and rapid-fire one-liners. Fey's Noem stormed in with an oversized gun, declaring, "I'm the rarest type of person in Washington D.C. ... a brunette Donald Trump listens to."

Former President Joe Biden is now entering a new phase of treatment for the aggressive form of prostate cancer he's battling.

A spokesperson for Biden told NBC News, “As part of a treatment plan for prostate cancer, President Biden is currently undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment."

The radiation treatment is expected to continue for 5 weeks, according to NBC, and the soon-to-be 83-year-old has already been taking a pill form of hormone medication.

The hits just keep on coming for Katie Porter ... the embattled candidate for California governor allegedly lost her s**t at her ex-husband years ago ... who says she called him dumb and poured hot mashed potatoes on him, burning his scalp ... this according to court records.

According to legal documents, Porter tied the knot with Matthew Hoffman in 2003 ... but eventually their relationship apparently soured, leading to Porter filing for divorce in 2013. Both filed domestic violence restraining orders against each other.

In his papers, Hoffman claimed Porter “routinely” called him a “f---ing idiot” and “f---ing incompetent” -- and said she also smashed a glass coffee pot on their kitchen counter because she felt their house wasn’t clean enough.
