Sam Rubin is not having a good day ... and it just got worse.

Hours after the KTLA reporter got his ass REAMED by Samuel L. Jackson for mistaking him for Laurence Fishburne during a live interview, he tried to take TMZ to task for the way we covered the story.

Problems is, TMZ doesn't like being taken to task ... especially when we're right.

That's when Evan stepped in and engaged Rubin in an enlightening civil discussion about their respectful disagreements ... just kidding ... THEY WENT OFF ON EACH OTHER!!!!!

Personal injury lawyer Jamie Casino -- whose local TV ad during the Super Bowl blew up the Internet Monday -- might have a future in Hollywood ... he tells TMZ producers are already inundating him with TV show offers.

Casino just called in to "TMZ Live," claiming the list of emails he's received in the last 24 hours -- offering lucrative production deals -- is already 3 pages long. Impressive, considering the spot originally only aired in Savannah, GA.

As for whether he'll actually pursue a TV career ... you gotta watch the clip. He also talks about how much his unreal commercial cost ... and even possible plans for a sequel.

The Game just came on TMZ Live and formally accepted the challenge to fight George Zimmerman in the ring ... but the promoter hedged, saying although Game is a front-runner, there are more than 4,700 others who want a piece of Zimmerman.

The Game scoffed at promoter Damon Feldman, who said Zimmerman would be a tough opponent because he's been heavy into boxing training. Game -- who's 6'5" and 240 lbs -- predicts a quick knockout.
