It's not always sunny when you're Rob McElhenney ... which is exactly why the veteran actor is changing his name legally.

The star filed documents in L.A. to formally update his moniker ... cutting down on the number of syllables in his name by going by "Rob Mac."

Like we said, this isn't just a stage name change ... we're talking full-on new name in the eyes of the law -- a pretty substantial move for a dude of Rob's stature. He's also Robert McElhenney III BTW ... and, now he's gonna be the first "Rob Mac."

Diddy's defense says the whole criminal case boils down to the almighty dollar, and co-lead attorney Marc Agnifilo is telling jurors that's the only reason they're even in court ... money, money, money.

Agnifilo is taking the reins on the defense's closing argument Friday, and took jurors back to what the defense says is the beginning of the case against Diddy -- Cassie's 2023 civil lawsuit.

As Agnifilo put it, Cassie "is sitting somewhere in the world with $30 million" ... referencing the $20 mil settlement in her Diddy suit and the $10 mil deal she cut with the owner of the InterContinental Hotel in L.A., the scene of the infamous beating video.

Vin Diesel's attorney Bryan Freedman's trial strategy is clear ... if ya can't beat them in the courtroom, beat them up outside of it.

The celebrity lawyer -- who is representing Vin in a sexual assault lawsuit filed against him by a former assistant on the "Fast Five" set -- is being called out in documents filed to compel Diesel's deposition.

According to the documents ... the plaintiff Asta Jonasson's attorney, Matthew Hale, was set to depose a third-party witness on June 23, but before it began he met with one of Diesel's other attorneys -- Sean Hardy -- to discuss why Diesel couldn't make it to his own deposition on June 24 and June 25.

3:25 PM PT -- Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to TMZ ... “Luis Hipolito was arrested for ASSAULTING an ICE law enforcement officer. Andrea Guadalupe Velez was arrested for impeding an arrest after she forcefully obstructed an ICE officer by making physical contact with him. Secretary Noem has been clear: if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Our ICE officers are facing a 500 percent increase in assaults against them while they carry out enforcement operations. These U.S. citizens actions kept ICE law enforcement from arresting the target illegal alien of their operation.”

Several law enforcement officers -- including at least one wearing ICE gear -- tackled a U.S. citizen to the ground and put their knees on his back after he allegedly punched an ICE agent in the face.

The incident went down Tuesday ... with bystanders recording multiple men -- including one wearing a "Police ICE" vest -- slamming a man in a white T-shirt and black pants to the asphalt, pushing his face into the curb as they wrestle to handcuff him.

It takes some time for the group to fully take him down ... and, at different times, the agents take turns putting their knees into the suspect's back -- while onlookers scream at them.

Gavin Newsom's ripping a page out of President Trump's own playbook ... suggesting Trump's elderly brain might be slipping, and says that might be why he couldn't remember details of their phone call.

The Cali Governor takes the shot at Trump in the defamation lawsuit he filed against Fox News. Diddy's defense is making their closing argument in his criminal trial and they are owning the domestic violence testimony ... but they say there's no way he's guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking.

Marc Agnifilo, Diddy's co-lead counsel, is handling the defense's closing argument Friday and he told jurors Diddy owns the domestic violence stories Cassie and "Jane" told on the stand ... but Agnifilo was quick to point out there are no domestic violence charges here.

Diddy's attorney says the Bad Boy founder would have pled guilty if he was charged with DV but it's a state crime and this is a federal case ... and Agnifilo scoffed at the federal charges his client is facing, saying there's no way Diddy is guilty of RICO or sex trafficking his ex girlfriends.

A fourth suspect connected to the foiled bombing of Taylor Swift's Vienna shows last year has been indicted in Germany ... according to reports.

The Associated Press -- citing documents filed in a Berlin court -- reports an individual identified only as Mohammad A. was indicted earlier this month for allegedly helping translate bomb-making instructions in the plot to blow up Ernst Happel Stadium in Austria. He also allegedly set up online contact with members of the Islamic State.

Mohammad A. -- BBC News reports German authorities describe him as a juvenile -- also stands accused of supporting a foreign terrorist organization and preparing a serious act of violence. He is reportedly not in custody. It's unclear why he's been indicted in Germany -- the bombing plot was supposed to go down in neighboring Austria.

Diddy's daughters, who've avoided appearing in court for most of his federal trial, are right behind him for closing arguments, and the emotion of the day is showing on their faces.

His twins, Jessie and D'Lila, along with Chance, all held hands as they walked out of the federal courthouse in Manhattan. Their brothers -- Justin, King and Quincy -- also strolled to a waiting SUV ... along with Diddy's mother, Janice.

The family's united front comes on the heels of prosecutors delivering closing arguments to the jury ... laying out why they should convict Diddy on all counts, including sex trafficking and racketeering.

Bryan Kohberger's defense has to go back to the drawing board ... after the judge in his criminal case denied his legal team's efforts to point the finger at four other suspects.

Kohberger is gearing up for a trial this summer after being accused of murdering four University of Idaho students ... and he was planning to argue someone else was the real murderer.

But in legal docs, obtained by TMZ, the judge blocked Kohberger's defense team from presenting evidence to the jury alleging someone other than Kohberger could be the true killer, blasting their evidence as "wild speculation" and "entirely irrelevant."

Diddy is being sued by a man who claims Diddy sodomized him at a house party after telling him, "You're about to get that Diddy love."

The Bad Boy Records founder is being sued by a man named Brandon Adams, who claims he was invited to a party Diddy was hosting in 2021 ... only to show up and be sexually assaulted.

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Adams claims he got the invite from a chauffeur he met at an L.A. gas station, and when he showed up, he says he was told to keep his phone in the car. Inside the bash, he claims he saw celebs -- but didn't interact with them -- and had some alcoholic drinks that made him feel dizzy.

Diddy's son Justin Combs lured a woman to Los Angeles with promises of getting her a job in entertainment, but when she arrived in L.A. she was kept in a house for days and ended up being raped by multiple men, including Diddy ... at least according to a new lawsuit.

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, the woman claims Justin initially contacted her through Snapchat in 2017 and they messaged back and forth, with the woman eventually sending Justin risqué photos at his request. She says after she sent the snaps, Justin offered to fly her to L.A. for a weekend.

The woman says she was interested in working in entertainment and told Justin as much in their conversations ... and she claims Justin told her a trip to L.A. would help her potential career, telling her if she came, he would get her a job using his and his famous father's connections.

Prosecutors in Diddy's criminal trial are telling jurors the Mann Act charges against Diddy are a slam dunk ... the feds say it's painfully obvious Diddy is guilty of interstate transportation for prostitution.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy Slavik is taking the reins on the government's closing argument and she told jurors Thursday the prostitution counts are super simple.

Slavik told jurors the charge does not require force, fraud, coercion, or even consent to find Diddy guilty ... she says Diddy committed a crime if the jury finds he transported people across state lines for the purpose of having sex at freak-offs.

Scott Wolf's request for a restraining order has been granted ... and, for the time being, his estranged wife Kelley isn't supposed to go anywhere near their kids.

The "Party of Five" star was granted the restraining order in Utah Wednesday afternoon ... with the judge noting in his decision Kelley has "engaged in an escalating pattern of behavior that poses a substantial threat or immediate and irreparable harm" to the couple's kids.

Daphne was serving gas-station glam Wednesday in L.A. -- rocking a perilously low-cut black top that flashed her lace bra, paired with skintight bootcut jeans that put her curves on full display.
