Ricky Shakes Bonbon -- and a Baby Rattle?

Published | Updated

Hunky boriqua Ricky Martin wants to be like Madonna and Angelina ... and adopt kids!

Suave Ricky does love kids; he serves as an Ambassador for UNICEF, and helps sponsor a home for Indian street kids. Now, according to a report on Tittle-Tattle, he wants to open his own Miami mansion to a tot or two.

Tittle-Tattle quotes Ricky as saying, "I believe that at some time in the future this house will be full of colored crayons strewn over the floor, and the walls covered with scribbles." Oh yeah, we can see the writing on the wall about Ricky.

Ricky's reps were aware of the report but had no comment. Martin's MTV Unplugged CD hit stores November 7.

UPDATE: TMZ heard from Ricky's spokesman late today, with this comment: "While Ricky has said he is certainly open to the idea of adopting children in the future (as he already sponsors three children in India and assists thousands more through the work of his foundation), he has no immediate plans for any adoption, as his upcoming months are already filled with promotional travel and concerts dates around his just released MTV Unplugged album."

Look Mommy, It's the Paparazzi!

Madonna took time out from bashing the media for overblowing her recent adoption of a Malawian baby to play with David in front of a window -- and the media.

Her Madgesty was in her NYC apartment on Saturday, playing with the tot as he looked out the window and tapped on the glass.

Madonna hit every chat show in NYC re the adoption and to hawk her new kiddie book. Meanwhile, NBC excised a controversial scene from Madge's upcoming TV special, where Madonna was shown descending on a disco-style mirrored crucifix. Amen.

Adopted Tot Questions Chase Madge

Published | Updated

No matter how hard she tries, Madonna can't seem to outrun questions about her newly adopted Malawian heir, David Banda Mwale Ciccone Ritchie.

Out with a gal pal for one of her leisurely jogs around New York's Central Park reservoir on Wednesday, the 48-year-old Material Girl, clad in the latest in workout gear--an argyle sweater!--ignored a foreign paparazzo when asked, "How is doing David?"

Madonna has taken flak for adorning her new 13-month-old baby with a red Kabbalah string, which is supposed to protect the wearer from "the evil eye," and is connected symbolically to the tomb of Rachel and defending against ill will. Why are people bugged by this?

Madonna has been in the Big Apple wrapping up a media blitz for her latest children's book "English Roses: Too Good to Be True" and an upcoming edited concert special on NBC, but nearly all questions have been about the controversial third world adoption.

Over 12 million children in sub-Saharan Africa have lost one or both parents. Let's give Madge her props for helping.

Meds or Not, It's All Cool Between Katie & Brooke

Published | Updated

Nothing mends a celebrity rift like a baby.

Katie Holmes seemed to forget the firestorm of controversy created by her man with regard to Brooke Shields this weekend, when she ran into Tom's former abuse-target at a private party in Los Angeles. Katie's face lit up as she gazed upon Brooke's daughter Grier, and the love-fest (however polite and camera-ready) continued throughout the rest of the conversation.

Looks like any ill-will concerning Tom Cruise's bashing of and subsequent apology to Brooke about her use of medication for her post-partum depression seem to have melted away.

Are playdates with Suri and Grier far behind? Stay tuned.

TMZ Solves Britney Baby Mystery

Published | Updated

TMZ has obtained a copy of the birth certificate for the latest addition to the Spears/Federline family, and now it's official -- it's a boy!

The certificate, filed today at the L.A. County Registrar-Recorder's office, reveals that the boy's name is Jayden James Federline. The certificate is signed by K-Fed himself, although a close inspection reveals that the signature is more like printing. Daddy Fed inked his name on Sept. 13, one day after Jayden was born.

K-Fed has been taking chances since Jayden's birth. In fact, just last night the new daddy mixed it up with John Cena on WWE's "Monday Night RAW," getting his "revenge" on Cena with a little slap but incurring Cena's wrath. Of course, K-Fed avoided any kind of retribution as Johnny Nitro stepped in on his behalf.

There was considerable confusion surrounding the birth of Britney's second child. Originally the baby's name was reported as Sutton Pierce Federline. Recent reports also indicated the baby was a girl. Last week, Celebrity Baby Blog had reported that the name was Jayden James, J.J. for short.

So baby Sean Preston has a lil' bro. No, we're not talking about Kevin.

Kate Hudson's Baby Shopping Spree

Published | Updated

Kate Hudson is the latest celeb caught spending some big money on baby items.

Just a day after Madonna bought up over $7200 worth of merchandise at LA's Petit Tresor, Kate dropped $1500 at the same baby boutique on Saturday.

A source tells TMZ that Hudson came in alone and picked up twelve items which included a $79 pink cuddle coat, green plush frog slippers for $59, and a chic leather Mia Bossi diaper bag which retails for $400.

Though Kate has a two-year-old son, Ryder, we are told all of the items were definitely for someone much younger.

Kate recently separated from her husband, Black Crowes lead singer Chris Robinson and is rumored to be dating Owen Wilson, her "You, Me and Dupree" co-star.

Can O Clean Up Madge's Malawian Mess?

Published | Updated

Now that Madonna's third world adoption of one-year-old Malawian boy David Banda has become a bigger PR nightmare than her trilogy of terror, i.e. "Shanghai Surprise", "Body of Evidence" and "Swept Away," Madonna is turning to a higher power for guidance -- Oprah!

Madge is scheduled to tape an appearance on Oprah's show today, which will air Wednesday, and plead her case in front of the throngs of O-lovers.

The way we see it, the Material Girl can either announce that she is returning David -- after all Malawians are soooo last month -- set his family up in a lavish Kabbalah kingdom of their very own, and begin adoption proceedings of some poorer, parentally-challenged child from an even lesser known nation. Djibouti anyone? But this time, just so there isn't any confusion, proof of true orphanhood will be required.

Or, assuming she gets the big O's blessing, Madonna can continue as planned with her Malawian motherhood and chalk up the experience and the mounting backlash as fodder for a tribal house concept album with a tour and Gaultier designed outfits to follow.

But perhaps her Madgesty will choose a different path and once again prove why she is the queen of reinvention. She'll adopt not only baby David, but his father too and simultaneously usher in the new Hollywood trend of adult adoptions. Zahara Jolie-Pitt be damned!

Madge Buys Baby Clothes -- For a Girl!

Published | Updated

Madonna has just adopted her Malawian 1-year-old son David, but could there be a new material baby girl in her future too?

TMZ has learned that an assistant from Madge's camp called the high end baby boutique Petit Tresor in Los Angeles on Friday and ordered over $7200 worth of clothes for a boy and a girl.

The order included cute onesies, pajamas and cashmere cardigans for a 12-month-old boy, as well as girly sweater sets, pink shoes with cherries on them, and a pink linen dress.

A source tells us the items were all shipped to Madge's London home and should arrive by Monday.

While it's safe to say the boy's clothes were for her new son, unless Madonna intends to teach baby David the joys of cross-dressing, the recipient of the girl's outfits remains a mystery.

Madonna Bombarded by "Terrorist"

Published | Updated

One thing Madonna probably wasn't expecting after her pilates workout - a man in nothing but a diaper.

Aaron Barschak, the self-named "comedy terrorist," jumped in front of the Material Girl's car in London today screaming "Adopt your local terrorist, adopt the Al-Qaeda" while sucking on a binky.

Madonna paid no attention to the comedian and drove off, prompting Barschak to say "I'm too old, too hairy for her to adopt."

This isn't Barschak's first time pulling hijinx on high profile people. The comedian first made a name for himself by crashing Prince William's 21st birthday dressed as Osama Bin Laden, kissing the prince on each cheek before being arrested.

Madonna and Guy: Back to Normal

Published | Updated

Now that the saga of the Malawian adoption winds down, Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie are returning to their daily life in England.

Madonna was seen coming out of a pilates session, just like any other day, but with a few more cameras than usual. One camera was held by a parking officer, who was snapping shots of Madonna's license plate and the ticket he'd just placed on her windshield.

Guy Ritchie wasn't home changing diapers all day either- the film director was photographed taking a bike ride on the streets of merry old England.

So both parents are getting their exercise. Good thing, because just like any ordinary parents, when little David Banda learns to walk they'll need to be pretty fit to chase him around the house.

Scary Spice Pregnant With Eddie Murphy's Baby

Published | Updated

TMZ has learned that former Spice Girl Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice, is four months pregnant with Eddie Murphy's baby. The news comes amid rumors that the couple will marry next month.

A source tells TMZ that Brown came into the hip Le Bra Lingerie boutique in West Hollywood on Saturday and was gushing about her impending birth.

Brown, who has a 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, is a frequent shopper at the store and admitted the pregnancy had her feeling tired. Brown added that she was concerned she may be carrying twins since, she noted, they run in Murphy's family.

While on her shopping spree, Melanie picked up nearly $5,000 worth of Eres lingerie for herself and about $300 worth of La Perla men's undershirts and underwear for Eddie.

In April, Murphy's divorce from his ex-wife Nicole became final. The "Daddy Day Care" star has five children with Nicole and another son from a previous relationship.

Murphy's rep told TMZ "We do not comment on Mr. Murphy's personal life."

Calls to Brown's rep were not immediately returned.

Madonna's Baby Delivered to UK

Published | Updated

Madge's newly adopted one-year-old son was surrounded by photogs hoping for a glimpse of the boy after his plane landed at Heathrow Airport.

The baby, David Banda, was covered with a gray sweatshirt while being carried by a female assistant, possibly the child's nanny. He received star treatment and was escorted from the terminal to a silver Mercedes by three armed guards.

Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie were nowhere in sight though Madge's publicist Liz Rosenberg insists the family will be reunited "in the next few days."

The couple has been granted temporary custody of the Malawian child for 18 months. While the law of Malawi requires the would-be parents to live in the African country for a year under the investigation of welfare officers before adoption, Rosenberg claims the couple "will be evaluated by the courts of Malawi per the tribal customs of the country," albeit in England.

UPDATE: Madonna has issued a statement saying she and husband Guy Ritchie "began the adoption process many months prior to our trip to Malawi" and that reports alleging the couple did not follow proper procedure are "inaccurate." Click here to read her complete statement.

Madge's Baby Swarmed in South Africa

Published | Updated

He's only been Madonna's child for four days but David Banda is already experiencing the notoriety that comes with being a Prince of Pop.

The one-year old boy the Material Girl has been granted temporary custody of and three members of Madonna's staff, including a nanny, were swarmed by photographers as they prepared to board a flight from Johannesburg to London.

A statement from Liz Rosenberg, Madonna's publicist in New York, said the child was issued a passport and a visa Monday adding that Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie had now been granted interim custody of the child, who has a visa that allows him to travel with the couple.

Madonna's generosity towards David's home country of Malawi has fueled speculation that certain child protection regulations may have been swept aside for the singer. The law of the land requires the would-be parents to live in the African country for a year under the investigation of welfare officers before adoption.

Rosenberg confirmed David will be under the care of Madonna and Ritchie for 18 months and would be then evaluated by the courts of Malawi according to its customs before anything became permanent.
