Seahawks' Derrick Coleman I Can Prove I Wasn't Drunk ... In Post-Arrest Video

Published | Updated

Seattle Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman made a video just 3 hours after his frightening 2 car crash Wednesday to prove he was NOT drunk or high ... and it involved reciting his ABC's.

Coleman -- who is legally deaf -- was arrested for vehicular assault and hit and run in Bellevue, Washington after allegedly leaving the scene of a crash in which the other driver sustained serious injuries.

Coleman's lawyer Stephen Hayne flipped on a camera and began his own unofficial field sobriety test -- which included asking Coleman to recite the alphabet WITHOUT singing.

We're told Coleman is being released from jail sometime today. He's been suspended from the Seahawks, but hopes this video will help in his effort to get back on the team.

As for what caused the crash or why he left the scene -- so far, Coleman and his lawyer have not said, though his agent has suggested Coleman may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Adrian Peterson Sticks It to Nike ... Signs with Adidas

Published | Updated

Adrian Peterson's back on his feet when it comes to endorsements -- claiming he's got a brand new deal with Adidas ... after Nike kicked him to the curb last year.

The Swoosh terminated it's contract with the NFL star when he struck a plea deal in his child abuse case back in November ... one of several sponsors that didn't want anything to do with Peterson at the time.

But now that Peterson is dominating again, the sponsors are coming back -- with Peterson saying he's officially in a deal with Adidas ... and says there are more opportunities on the table with other companies as well.

Long story short ... Peterson is marketable again. So, the question ... even though Nike was trying to make a point in dropping him in the first place -- think they're regretting the decision now??

Kobe Bryant Fires Back at Master P ... High Brow Retort

Published | Updated

Kobe Bryant isn't taking Master P's insults kindly -- claiming the rapper's decision to question his support of Lamar Odom was downright "insensitive."

It's clear Kobe caught wind of what Master P told TMZ Sports yesterday ... that he thinks Bryant is a "phony" friend to Odom who failed to help the ex-NBA star when he needed it the most.

Now, Kobe has issued a statement on Twitter -- and though he doesn't mention P directly, there's no doubt who the message is for.

"When WE feel the need to question the support of others in moments as critical as a life hanging in the balance, then we must question the kind of culture we have created that has led US to such insensitive suspicion."

Uhhhh.

Still, Kelly says he understands why his name has been kicked around -- "I understand that it’s gonna happen. We’re not successful, we’re not winning, I came from college and I’m gonna go back to college."

He added, "I hope to be like [NY Giants coach Tom Coughlin] someday to win enough games so no one questions whether I want to stay here or not."

Kelly also says he feels for Sark -- "A friend of mine in Steve Sarkisian is dealing with a big issue right now ... and I wish him the best."

TIME TO MOVE ON

Steve Spurrier says he's "resigning" as the head coach at the University of South Carolina because the team sucks ... and he thinks it's his fault ... and he wants to "get out of the way."

Spurrier just explained himself at a news conference -- saying he thinks the new coach Shawn Elliott will be able to breathe life back into the program.

He also says he's a "recruiting liability" because he's old -- 70 -- and it's hard to convince high school players that he'll be around for 5 more years.

Spurrier says this year's team isn't as good as he thought they would be -- but says things could be different under new leadership.

Spurrier also says he's not retiring, he's resigning ... and may coach high school football in the future.

"It's time for me to move on and it's time for South Carolina to start rebuilding."

Shia LaBeouf to Cops You Can't Arrest Me, 'Silly Man' ... I'm in the Military!!

Published | Updated

Shia LaBeouf went on a drunken, profane rant at the Austin cop who busted him, referring to the officer as a "silly man" ... while threatening to attack him.

According to police docs, the officer initially stopped LaBeouf because he and a group of people were jaywalking across a busy street in downtown Austin on Friday night, but the officer quickly noticed Shia's speech was slurred and he smelled of alcohol.

LaBeouf initially tried to back away from the cop, and suggested he let him go for a strange reason. According to the officer, Shia said LAPD usually lets him go because they had killed a friend of his.

When that didn't work ... cops say Shia got agitated and confrontational -- first with the officer and then with someone recording video of the incident. The officer says he had to stop Shia from attacking that person.

LaBeouf's last ditch effort to sway the officer was claiming he's a member of the National Guard, and barked ... "Do whatever the f**k you gotta do!"

The officer did ... and arrested LaBeouf for public intoxication.

UCLA Punter Arrested On Suspicion of Rape

Published | Updated

One of the kickers on the UCLA football team has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman he met at a party back in 2014 ... this according to police.

Officials say 20-year-old Adam Searl was arrested on October 8th and booked on 3 counts of rape. Searl has punted for UCLA five times this season.

According to investigators, Searl met the accuser at an off-campus party in Westwood in October 2014 and accompanied her to a nearby residence.

The woman claims she fell asleep -- but woke up to Searl raping her.

Officials launched an "exhaustive investigation" in conjunction with the UCLA PD -- and the woman eventually identified Searl as the assailant.

Searl was arrested without incident -- and has since been released on $300,000 bail.

UCLA football coach Jim Mora says Searl has been suspended by the team indefinitely while the legal process runs its course.
