Lindsay Lohan You Can Trust Me, Judge ... I REALLY Had a Miscarriage

Published | Updated

This is rich -- Lindsay Lohan wants a judge to take her at her word that she had a miscarriage ... because she refuses to be grilled about it in court, even though she brought it up herself.

We broke the story ... Lindsay is trying to overturn a $5 million judgment she lost over her 6126 clothing line. Lindsay flaked by not filing proper legal docs, so the judge entered a default judgment.

Lindsay wants the judge to undo the judgment, because she was dealing with all sorts of drama, including her disembodied embryonic cells.

So the opposing side wants to put her under oath and test her truthfulness about the alleged miscarriage, but Lindsay is balking ... her lawyer saying, "The court does not need the media circus that would ensue if counsel is allowed to invade Lohan's privacy and delve into her mental state regarding her sobriety and miscarriage."

What tangled webs we weave ...

Jay Z LAPD Kills Extortion Investigation Over $20 Mil Masters

Published | Updated

Solange isn't the only person Jay Z's tired of fighting -- outside court anyway -- TMZ has learned, the rapper's camp is no longer pursuing criminal extortion charges over $20 million worth of Jay Z songs ... and the Beverly Hills PD has closed its investigation as a result.

TMZ broke the story ... producer Chauncey Mahan was detained by police last month after Jay's people accused him of stealing the master recordings for several big Hova songs back in 2002 -- and then trying to hold them ransom ... for a $100,000 "storage fee."

LAPD confiscated the recordings pending the result of a criminal investigation, but law enforcement sources now tell us, Jay Z's camp has decided NOT to pursue extortion charges. As a result, BHPD will no longer be investigating. Case closed.

But the tale of the tapes isn't over -- we're told the LAPD -- which took possession of the tapes a few weeks ago -- will continue to hold on to the recordings until a civil judge tells them to do otherwise.

Now here's Solange punching Jay Z again.

Smokey Robinson Sued He Better Shop Around ... For New Lawyers

Published | Updated

Smokey Robinson's gonna need new lawyers to help him fight off his old ones ... who've filed a lawsuit claiming the singer is six-figures in the hole with them.

We've obtained a copy of the suit filed by an L.A. law firm ... accusing the Motown legend of racking up $170,000 in unpaid legal bills.

In the docs, the attorneys at King Holmes Paterno & Berliner say the Motown legend hasn't paid a cent since 2010 ... even though he's continued to use their services.

They claim Smokey owes 'em $64K just for 2013.

A rep for Smokey says the firm negotiated agreements without consulting with Smokey first -- and that's why he's refused to pay.

According to the suit, the firm offered to go to arbitration to resolve the matter ... if Smokey thought he was getting screwed. Obviously, that didn't pan out ... and we're told Smokey now plans to countersue.

Arnold Schwarzenegger I'll Terminate Nutrition Company With $10M Lawsuit

Published | Updated

Arnold Schwarzenegger is threatening to crush the company he says jacked his image to sell cheap nutrition products ... according to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ.

Schwarzenegger claims the Arnold Nutrition Group slapped his name and photo all over its products -- things he would NEVER endorse because they haven't been subjected to rigorous testing.

Arnold makes it clear in his lawsuit ... nobody gets his endorsement unless he BELIEVES in the product ... and unless he gets paid for the full value of his name and reputation.

Arnold says the company is defrauding the public. He wants at least $10 mil ... but he hasn't asked for a total recall. Yet.

Hasta la vista.

Chris Brown Sues Basketball Player For Extortion

Published | Updated

Chris Brown is in an unusual position in court -- on the OFFENSIVE -- claiming a guy on a basketball court tried extorting the singer ... threatening to tell cops Brown started a fight unless he coughed up a ton of money.

Brown was sued by Malcolm Ausbon over a pick-up basketball game last July at an L.A. gym. Ausbon claims Brown attacked him over a foul call, and proclaimed he was a member of the Bloods.

Brown has now counter-sued Ausbon, claiming he had nothing to do with the fight and Ausbon knew it, but tried to shake him down for a quarter-of-a-million dollars. According to Brown's new counter-suit -- obtained by TMZ -- Ausbon admitted to Brown's people the singer was not the culprit, but later his lawyer made this written demand:

-- "Mr. Ausbon believes $250,000 will suffice compensating him for his physical and emotional injuries ... Mr. Ausbon is placed in a position by the LAPD where he needs to decide whether he will press charges for aggravated assault and battery."

The letter continues:

-- "However, Mr. Ausbon prefers not to resort to filing these claims or the lawsuit. He would rather be compensated."

Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, says in the counter-suit Ausbon promised to keep the matter secret if Brown anted up. Brown didn't pay and Ausbon filed his lawsuit.

Dr. Dre Loses $3 Mil Lawsuit But Who the Hell Cares?

Published | Updated

Dr. Dre just lost a bid to squeeze a quick $3 million out of bankrupt Death Row Records ... but $3 mil is pretty much beer money these days for a guy who's zeroing in on billionaire status.

We did some digging and found Dre filed a claim in DRR's bankruptcy case, claiming he's owed millions in royalties ... for records Death Row sold while the company was in bankruptcy.

Dre feels ... since the money was raised off of his back in bankruptcy ... he should get his cash before the other creditors.

The judge shut down Dre's motion ... so it looks like he won't see a dime.

How's he gonna eat?

Forbes to Dr. Dre Not So Fast ... You're No Billionaire

Published | Updated

Dr. Dre better stop counting his chickens before they hatch -- calling himself the "first billionaire in hip hop" -- a rep for Forbes tells TMZ, once the $3.2 Billion Apple deal is finalized ... the rap mogul will NOT hit the billion dollar mark.

Forbes Assistant Managing Editor for Wealth tells us ... they've done the math, and after state and federal taxes ... Dre will be worth in the neighborhood of $800 million.

It appears Dre only owns 25% of the company ... so the max he'd make off the sale is $800 MIL. After state and federal taxes, he's left with $480 MIL, and when you add in Dre's other assets, that's how Forbes now comes up with $800 MIL. Close but no cigar.

The editor says, "Not quite enough to debut on the Forbes 400 but plenty for bragging rights.”

In the words of Ice Cube ... check yo self before you wrickity-wreck yo self.

Dr. Dre Getting $3 BILLION for Beats!! Apple Deal Reportedly Close

Published | Updated

Dr. Dre could be days away from being the first rapper turned BILLIONAIRE ... thanks to a mega-deal for Apple to snatch up his Beats Electronics brand.

Apple will reportedly buy Beats for a whopping $3.2 BILLION -- and since Dre and Interscope honcho Jimmy lovine created the brand ... it's a safe bet they will walk away with a huge chunk of that cash.

Dre and Jimmy started the brand back in 2008 with headphones -- but now they're also making bank off speakers, car audio systems, and a streaming service.

The deal could close next week ... and would be Apple's biggest acquisition ever.

Dre came in #2 on Forbes' most recent list of hip hop's wealthiest artists -- with a net worth of $550 million ... while Diddy was #1 at $700 million.

The Apple deal -- first reported by Variety -- could easily push the Doc to the top of that list. This would also explain his purchase of Tom Brady's mansion.

Keep their heads ringing.
