"Scary Movie" director David Zucker is weighing in on Marlon Wayans' claim that Harvey and Bob Weinstein stole the franchise ... telling TMZ this kind of thing happens in Hollywood all the time, and in his view it's just part of the business.

We caught up with David in L.A. Thursday, and while he says he doesn’t know every detail of the situation, he defended a studio's right to make creative decisions ... pointing to his own experience with his "Naked Gun" franchise.

ICYMI, Marlon accused the Weinstein brothers of swiping the original "Scary Movie" concept -- which started as a Wayans family idea back in 2000 -- with the studio Miramax claiming it and running with the idea, continuing to make sequels without their involvement.

James G. Robinson -- the longtime film producer movie buffs might remember for his public feud with Lindsay Lohan -- has died, TMZ has learned.

We're told Robinson passed away "peacefully" on February 15.

Robinson broke into the movie business in the mid-1980s after proudly serving in the United States Army and having great success in the automobile industry. He produced numerous films -- many of them comedies -- over the next four decades through his company Morgan Creek Entertainment, which he cofounded with Joe Roth.

Hindsight is 20/20 for Terrence Howard -- 'cause he's looking back at the time he lost out on a massive Marvel payday ... because he threatened to knock the teeth out of a big-time producer.

Howard dished all on the “PBD Podcast," saying the drama started during the promo run for the film "The Brave One," when he confronted producer Joel Silver over why his name wasn’t billed above the title alongside Jodie Foster. Joel told him it was because TH had a supporting role ... an explanation Terrence says he understood, but he still reacted aggressively.

According to Howard, his temper flared, and he warned Silver that if he ever spoke to him like that again, he’d knock his teeth out. Yikes.

There's no other information given ... but if the timing is correct, the pic was shot around Sunday when Zendaya's longtime stylist, Law Roach, spilled to "Access Hollywood" at the Actors Awards that we all missed the wedding. Roach was referring to Zendaya tying the knot with fiancé Holland.

Christina Applegate gave an unflattering account of disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein in her new memoir "You With the Sad Eyes" ... and he had nothing but praise for her in return.

Here's the deal ... the actress and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) advocate wrote about a brief interaction with Harvey at a Hollywood party in her new book ... saying she called him out when she allegedly overheard him making distasteful remarks about another woman. She writes that Harvey was "definitely afraid" of her after that ... because she's a woman who doesn't mess around.

And, Harvey didn't deny a single thing about her account ... and is instead applauding her strength and honesty. Through a spokesperson, Harvey tells TMZ she's a "gifted actress and a powerful voice in Hollywood," adding ... "It’s good to see her sharing her story and her perspective in her own words." “I do not remember running into Christina Applegate or having that conversation.”

Bruce Campbell has revealed he has cancer, but says it's a type that's treatable, though not curable.

"The Evil Dead" actor shared the news Monday in a message to fans, writing, "Hi folks, these days, when someone is having a health issue, it's referred to as an 'opportunity,' so let's go with that -- I'm having one of those." He continued, "It's also called a type of cancer that's 'treatable' not 'curable.' I apologize if that's a shock -- it was to me too."

Campbell said he wouldn't go into further detail about his diagnosis, but explained his work schedule will be changing. "Appearances and cons and work in general need to take back seat to treatment," he wrote, adding he plans to focus on getting "as well as I possibly can over the summer."

Bo Gritz, a Vietnam War hero who inspired Sylvester Stallone's character John Rambo in "First Blood," is dead.

Bo died Friday at his home in Sandy Valley, Nevada ... according to his wife. His official cause of death is unclear, but Bo's wife documented his health issues online, saying he had been battling cancer.

A highly decorated war veteran who earned the rank of lieutenant colonel, Bo ran for president in 1992 ... and he was famously involved in the 1992 Ruby Ridge standoff, when he reportedly managed to convince anti-government extremist Randy Weaver into surrendering to federal agents in Idaho following an 11-day siege that killed Weaver's wife and child.
