Paris Back on Party Scene
L.A. area clubs rejoice -- your paparazzi princess has come home! After an interminable jail sentence and an additional week and a half of laying low, Paris Hilton returned to one of her homes away from home -- Hollywood club Les Deux.
Paris was spotted by TMZ's cameras there on Friday night with sister Nicky and gal pal Erin Foster, along with a pair of appropriately intimidating body guards. The never-shy Paris soaked up the center of attention by dancing on a couch in the middle of the club and singing along to every song played, including her own marginal hit, "Stars Are Blind," reported People.
In her first post-pokey interview with Larry King, Paris claimed that she'd be giving up much of her pre-jail club and party lifestyle, but was reticent to throw it all away. "Obviously I'll still go out sometimes. I'm young and I like to be social, but I'm going to focus more on my work." Work it!
If Convicted, Nicole Richie is Screwed
Will a sympathetic judge delay Nicole Richie's mandatory jail sentence if she's convicted? Don't get your hopes up, honey.
TMZ did some checking on the guy in the robe who will preside over her case and sentence her if she's convicted. The guy is Los Angeles County Commissioner Steven Lubell. The legal eagles who have appeared in his courtroom say he's tough and very much by the book. He will not give Richie any special treatment, and our sources say her pregnancy won't amount to squat when it comes to serving time.
Richie's trial is scheduled to begin next Wednesday. If convicted, it will be her second DUI and she'll face a minimum of five days in jail.
Lynnwood ladies -- let's get ready to rumble!

Preggers in Jail The Nicole Baby Story?
Inseminated and emaciated starlet Nicole Richie's legal woes may get even worse. If the micro-sized Richie is sentenced to do time in the clink, there'll be no VIP treatment for the puny reality star.
The birdlike Richie is expecting the stork in just six months. Pregnant inmates are housed in the general population and given a high calorie diet -- oh the horror -- and prenatal vitamins. Eat up, hon! If Nic goes into labor while doing time, she'll be forced to pop the kid at a hospital contracted by her Los Angeles correctional facility -- no VIP suite at Cedars Sinai!
The usual hospital stay for jailbird mommies is three days, with the required Sheriff's deputy standing guard. Then it's back to the pen -- without the newbie! The precious celebuspawn of Nicole and Joel would be given to either the father, or the grandparents! All night long!
Upon release from the hospital -- it's back to Chez Jail!
Nicole Richie IS Pregnant
TMZ has independently confirmed that Nicole Richie is pregnant.
The starlet has been dating Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden for over six months. Rumors have been swirling for months that Richie and Madden were expecting, but TMZ has confirmed through several sources that she is, in fact, with child. In Touch magazine is also reporting that the couple will wed this summer. Richie is currently facing DUI charges stemming from her arrest last December, when she was found driving the wrong way on a California highway.
Richie's trial is set for July 11. If convicted, she faces a minimum of five days in jail.
Richie's rep did not return repeated calls for comment.

Doherty Shambles into Court, Pleads Guilty to Drug Stash
Somebody get Pete Doherty a watch -- and a clue! The rocker boyfriend of Kate Moss arrived so late this morning to his court appearance that Judge Davinder Lachhar of West London Magistrates court issued an arrest warrant for the human ten-car-pile-up.
Doherty was more than two hours late for his appearance, according to reports, and when he finally showed up, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, heroin, marijuana and ketamine, as well as to two drunk driving offenses. He'd been stopped in his car by police on Kensington High Street and arrested on May 5.
The former Babyshambles frontman has seemingly been in and out of rehab and jail more times than anyone can count, and he's already reportedly on thin ice with Moss after reports in the UK claim he was caught last week with another woman.

Could a Baby Keep Richie Out of the Pokey?
With pregnancy rumors running every which way, Nicole Richie and borefriend Joel Madden added fuel to the baby blabber fire. TMZ spies saw them purchase a $300 Born Out of Necessity chic leather diaper bag at Bel-Bambini baby boutique on Thursday. But even if she's not pregnant, Richie might want to consider getting knocked up real soon -- it might save her from following in Paris' shackled footsteps.
With her DUI trial set to begin on July 11, what judge in his right mind would send a pregnant waif to the slammer?! Oh the humanity! If she's found guilty, Wrongway Richie will spend a minimum of five days in jail, with the possibility of up to a year behind bars -- and we're not talkin' Hyde!
Anyone know of a good prison daycare?

Sally Kirkland Leads Paris Protest
At the forefront of civil protest, leading the cause of the moment, actress/Oscar attendee Sally Kirkland appeared outside of Lynwood jail yesterday, pleading for mercy for Paris Hilton, but from the look of Kirkland, she's the one who could use some mercy! Nurse!
Looking as if someone woke her up about five minutes before the protest, Miss Kirkland took the time to plead for prayers for Nicole Richie too, calling the wayward "Simple Life" stars her "angels." Oh Lord! Kirkland, who'd worked with Paris and Nicole as an acting coach on the series, was interviewed alongside a mob of Paris supporters numbering at least half a dozen.
The talented, vagabondish actress then led the protest into nearby streets, where she seemed lost in the confusion, or perhaps just confused. Paris' lawyer, Richard Hutton, unseen by the protesters, happened upon the scene and could only shake his head in disbelief at the groundswell of support for the heiress/convict.

Nicole Richie Will Fight DUI Charge
TMZ was in court moments ago when Nicole Richie's lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley announced her client will try and beat the rap. A trial date was set for July 11.
Richie was arrested last December after she was driving the wrong way on an L.A. freeway. Cops say she confessed that she had been smoking pot and had taken Vicodin.
The stakes are high for Richie. She has a prior DUI and if she's convicted this time around she faces a minimum 5 days in the pokey. Worst case scenario for Richie -- one year in the slammer.
Sean Stewart Arrested for Alleged Brick Bashing Attack
The son of rock legend Rod Stewart was arrested and thrown behind bars bars yesterday, after cops say he used a brick to beat the crap out of a man and his wife in the Hollywood Hills nearly two months ago.
26-year-old Sean Stewart, star of A&E's reality show "Sons of Hollywood," spent nearly an hour locked up in a Hollywood police station, where he was charged with four felonies, including two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of vandalism and one count of throwing substance at a vehicle. Stewart was released on $60,000 bail.
As TMZ first reported, Stewart and a few of his buddies allegedly began throwing bricks, rocks, a mailbox and even a trash can at a random Ford F150 that was driving by a house near a party they were denied entrance to, around 4:00 AM. According to a lawsuit filed by the couple inside the truck, an enraged Stewart began "swinging his arms, punching, throwing bricks and other items."

Tracy Morgan: Anklet Stylin'
Tracy Morgan is among a growing number of Hollywood celebrities sporting the latest in convict chic -- an electronic ankle bracelet.
TMZ has obtained the first photo of Morgan's new SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring) device -- an ankle bracelet worn to test for alcohol vapors that exit the skin. The device tests every 30 minutes for 90 days. If Morgan tests positive for alcohol use, he will have to start his 90 days over, and if he fails a second time he'll be forced to spend 30 days in a county jail.
As TMZ first reported, Paris Hilton was also wearing an electronic monitoring anklet (but not for alcohol -- just location tracking) while under house arrest ... until she was sent back to the slammer.

Richie Thinks Jail is a Joke
Nicole Richie is laughing about the possibility of going behind bars -- and judging from Paris Hilton's quick release, it's not hard to see why.
The stick-thin sometimes-BFF to Ms. Hilton was on "The Late Show with David Letterman" last night, where she started to chuckle when telling Dave that prison is indeed a likelihood for her. Incarceration -- hilarity!
In between giggles, wrong-way Richie also said she is "keeping her fingers crossed ... but I'm willing to face whatever consequences come my way." Clearly, prison food won't bother her.

Cops: Paris Under House Arrest
Paris Hilton has been fitted for ankle bracelet and reassigned to house arrest, after authorities decided to release Hilton from jail due to medical reasons, this according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept. spokesperson, Steve Whitmore.
Reporters hammered away about Paris' medical condition during a press conference in front of the jail, where she was released early this morning, but Whitmore said that due to confidentiality laws, he could not discuss even the slightest health-related details.
Paris will be under house confinement in her West Hollywood home for 40 days, where she has a 3000-4000 ft. radius of freedom. Her jail cell was 96 square feet. After the 40 days are up, Whitmore says she will have "fulfilled her debt to society."
Whitmore made it clear that Paris was not released early -- she was reassigned. She is technically still in custody.

Richie Pimps 'Simple Life' Sans Paris
Nicole Richie dropped by "The Late Show with David Letterman" today, and the main topic of conversation was inmate #9818783 -- aka Paris Hilton.
TMZ cameras caught Nicole as she made her way through the crowd to tape her appearance. "The Simple Life" star told Dave that she hasn't spoken to Paris since she entered prison, but she did talk to her right before, and said that Paris felt "just like anyone would feel before they were going to go to jail." Fearful of not being able to shop on Melrose?
Dave even brought up Nicole's court problems and the possibility she could be headed to the slammer as well. Nicole took a page from the Paris apology book, telling Dave, "I'm just keeping my fingers crossed, and you know, of course, I'm scared also, but you know, I'm willing to face whatever consequences come my way and I take responsibility for what I've done."

Why Nicole Richie Can Still Drive
TMZ ran a story earlier today saying that officials from the DMV and the D.A. couldn't explain why Nicole Richie didn't have her drivers license automatically suspended, more than six months after she was busted driving the wrong way on a Burbank freeway and charged with DUI. After all, Paris had her license suspended 5 months after she was busted for DUI. Well, after more digging, we've finally gotten to the bottom of the mystery.
Under California law, the DMV must suspend the license of anyone busted for driving with a .08 alcohol level or higher. In Richie's case, alcohol was not a factor. At the time of her arrest, Richie admitted she had taken Vicodin and smoked pot, but there were no traces of alcohol, therefore, an automatic suspension was not an option.
If, however, Richie is convicted, her license will be on the line, especially since this is her second DUI in 4 years.
