Rising F1 star Kimi Antonelli crashed a super-rare Mercedes in a one-vehicle accident over the weekend ... and while the car took a beating, the driver is luckily okay.

The 19-year-old Italian's Mercedes team confirmed the news in a statement on Tuesday ... saying Kimi got in the road incident near his home in San Marino. According to local news, he collided with a guardrail.

The team said Kimi called police himself ... and his whip was the only one involved.

Sha'Carri Richardson is no stranger to going fast ... but this time, instead of winning her a medal, the prize was a pair of handcuffs for the U.S. track star, who was arrested in Florida for excessive speeding.

25-year-old Richardson was busted Thursday in the Orlando area after cops say she was operating her vehicle recklessly, with the arresting agency -- the Orange County Sheriff's Office -- taking her in on one charge of dangerous excessive speeding, meaning she was allegedly travelling at least 100 miles per hour.

A spokesperson for OCSO says Sha'Carri was “dangerously tailgating and travelling across lanes of travel to pass other motorists.”

The Tesla CEO announced his plans to ramp up production on his Optimus humanoid robots during an earnings call on Wednesday -- and revealed a Tesla-producing factory would be repurposed to focus on building the 'bots, reports CNBC.

Musk announced he'll double the company's capital spending ‌to more than $20 billion this year, Reuters reports. Musk said Tesla would stop producing its Model S and X vehicles, and described the planned end of production as an “honorable discharge” for the vehicles.

Models S and X are two of the car manufacturer’s oldest models -- but they're not selling ... combined, they accounted for less than 3 percent of Tesla's global sales last year.

Elon said Tesla was planning to replace the production line for Models S and X “with a 1 million unit per year line of Optimus.” Earlier this month, Musk also noted a goal of Optimus some day accounting for 80 percent of Tesla's total value.

The Optimus is intended to be capable of completing a wide variety of tasks ... so if you ever fantasized about a robot babysitter, this might be the right time to think about ordering one.

Liar, liar, car's on fire! A Florida man, who claimed to have only had one beer, was arrested on DUI charges Friday after he was caught driving a car while it was actively engulfed in flames.

This story is unbelievable ... in the arrest affidavit, obtained by TMZ, the Brevard County Sheriff's Office said deputies were putting out a brush fire caused by a vehicle, when they spotted the vehicle in question.

The police report says, witnesses saw Patrick Rinaldi driving on U.S.-192 as heavy smoke was seen coming from his vehicle. Witnesses said Patrick eventually stopped, but only briefly, before driving away again ... only this time, the entire car was engulfed in flames.

And ... according to a Facebook post, this man had his wife in the car with him!

The alleged assault victim in the Antonio Pizzonia incident is sharing his side of the story … telling TMZ Sports he did no wrong.

Michael Kotowski -- who is listed as the alleged victim in the police report -- says he was "sucker punched" while supporting his competitive go-kart driver son, Nico, at the Speedsportz Racing Park in Texas for the 2026 Superkarts! USA Winter Series.

Kotowski says things got heated after a race involving Nico and Pizzonia’s son, Neto.

The FBI purchased several armored BMW X5s at director Kash Patel's request this year, sources told MS Now ... an expensive break from the traditional fleet of armored vehicles used by U.S. officials.

A spokesperson for the FBI confirmed the news about the lawman's new vehicles and stated the bureau had been planning to acquire newer cars. The spokesperson also said the purchase would save taxpayers millions of dollars without providing documents regarding the cost of the cars.

Patel is the first FBI director to utilize armored BMWs, law enforcement personnel told MS Now. The government reportedly had a contract with General Motors to provide Chevrolet Suburbans for officials' use.

Patel reportedly requested the cars to make his travel less noticeable to the public. FBI directors have historically been transported in Suburbans -- and have been protected by security details.

An individual said to be close to Patel said buying a new armored Suburban would have cost the government $480,000 ... which is more than twice the cost of the BMW.

Patel also reportedly requested the FBI purchase a new jet for his use earlier this year, although the proposal ended up being dropped.

San Francisco was hit with a major power outage Saturday night, turning the whole city into darkness and dangerously stalling a ton of self-driving Waymo taxis.

The citywide outage forced Waymo to halt its driverless car service, stranding the autonomous vehicles in the middle of the streets and intersections, according to pedestrians posting videos on X Saturday.

A Waymo spokesperson tells TMZ that ride-hailing services have been "temporarily suspended" due to the outage. They added, "Our teams are working diligently and in close coordination with city officials to monitor infrastructure stability, and we are hopeful to bring our services back online soon.”

SFGATE reports the company had to shut down its operation at around 8 p.m. due to the cars being unable to operate without traffic signals.

According to online footage, at least four Waymo vehicles were parked in the middle of an intersection with their hazards on, creating a large traffic jam at the busy intersection in the North Beach neighborhood.
