Kanye West would probably agree he's bigger than the Pope -- only now he can actually peg that belief to hard numbers ... in merchandise sales.

Sources close to Mr. West tell us he set a record at his Madison Square Garden show Monday night, where he hawked $780,000 in Yeezy merch ... beating Pope Francis' previous record by $240k.

Pope Francis sold $540,000 in Pope-laced gear a year ago at the same venue, but the Saint Pablo Tour crowd proved more fast and loose with their wallets.

Both guys had stuff with their faces all over it ... but we're guessing Francis' Rosaries don't hold a candle to Saint Pablo swag.

North West proved she's her mother Kim Kadashian's daughter down to the matching $11k disco ball dresses they wore to Kanye's Monday show at Madison Square Garden.

It was North's first official concert and Kim made sure her kid was dressed to impress. Interesting choice on the shoes though ... no Yeezys.

It's technically still summer, so North still gets a pass on curfew.

Penny Hardaway just dropped $500 so he could hit the links FRESH ... in one-of-a-kind golf shoes patterned after his classic Fighter Jet Foamposites from back in the '90s.

TMZ Sports spoke with Roly Padron from Nomad Customs, who says Penny wanted a special look for the Black Enterprise Golf Challenge this Labor Day weekend ... so he decided to freak his sneaks.

Roly hand painted a pair of Nike Air Zoom 90 golf shoes -- a 10 hour job -- to give Penny the same camouflage look from his classic shoe that drives sneakerheads wild.

The blue in the shoe is also significant ... a nod to Penny's time with the Orlando Magic ... just tossed in there for a little nostalgia ... and, of course, Hardaway's signature logo is on the back.

Whole job cost about $500 bucks ... but you know what they say ... look good, play good.

Saint West is showing off his birthright -- those near-impossible to come by baby Yeezys.

Kim and Kanye's tot was cruising around the Big Apple Thursday afternoon ... looking like the most adorable billboard for his pop's kicks, which sold out instantly this week.

Retail price is $130 for a pair, but the 8-month-old probably got the friends and fam discount.

Colin Kaepernick says the "pig cop" socks he wore to practice last month were only meant to represent the "rogue cops" who put communities in danger -- and not the good ones.

Photos surfaced Wednesday of Kaepernick wearing socks featuring pigs wearing police hats -- taken from a practice back in August.

Kaepernick finally addressed the situation moments ago ...

"I wore these socks, in the past, because the rogue cops that are allowed to hold positions in police departments, not only put the community in danger, but also put the cops that have the right intentions in danger by creating an environment of mistrust."

Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather may never square off in a ring, but at least we can see them do battle ... in matching bathrobes!

Conor posted a pic of himself Wednesday in a red Versace robe -- the same one 'Money' sported poolside in Miami last year. The gear costs about $550 retail. In other words -- about $1.25 to these guys.

Kanye West still has a lot on his mind after his famous VMAs speech ... like why the hell is Ray J so pissed?!

We got Yeezy leaving The Mercer Hotel in NYC, and he says he can't understand why people are getting mad about him shouting out to Ray J. After all, they're all in the same bed together in his "Famous" vid.

Our photog also asked Kanye if there was anything at the VMAs he wanted to say but couldn't, and he did not disappoint ... with some ideas on how his school uniforms can save the world.

Rick Ross had a deal with DGK clothing company to rock its gear in public, but he says the checks stopped coming ... so now he's suing to get his scratch.

Rick Ross Touring filed the suit, claiming Rick had a 2 year deal to be DGK's brand ambassador which would pay him at least $10k a month ... plus another 7% of profits.

In the suit, Rick's people say DGK copped to being broke in Nov. 2015 and stopped sending his checks -- and now the Boss is owed more than $80k in back pay.

We reached out to Kayo Corp., which owns DGK, but so far ... no word back.

It takes 60 HOURS and thousands of dollars to make every single custom suit for Conor McGregor ... and the guy has DOZENS of 'em ... so says his personal custom suit guy (yeah, he's got one).

We spoke to the UFC guy's longtime wardrobe guru David Heil -- CEO of David August clothing -- who says McGregor is an animal when it comes to fashion.

Here's the math -- each custom suit ranges from $4,000 to $10,000 ... and Conor orders 8 to 10 outfits every single time he goes out on a media tour.

"We also have 2 or 3 extra outfits on hand in case anything happens to the outfits he’s supposed to wear for an event."

Translation -- money is no object when it comes to Conor's look.

And Heil says he's a full-service outfitter -- "From the suits down to the bow ties to the cuff links, he’s wearing David August."

"Every outfit I make for him takes 60 hours. He likes to wear his suits high and tight and really tailored, and his size changes all the time depending on his fights. So we’re always measuring him to make sure it fits exactly how he wants it."

"He’s such a style guy ... he’s always been that way since the day I met him. He takes everything and makes it his own. It takes a guy with the right mind to pull off these extreme looks, and he does."

Kanye West is a man of his word ... at least when it comes to free Yeezys.

We got 'Ye back in November when he promised he'd hand out the shoes for all the paps' hard work. Seemed like big talk at the time, but earlier this week he delivered to a bunch of freelance camera guys. Totally free of charge!

At $200 a pop, it's a pretty generous gift. We're told he also sent out more than 100 pairs to everyone who guessed his album name correctly.

No one can say Mr. West doesn't have sole.

A bug-infested rental shirt from Men's Wearhouse not only ruined a groom's wedding ... it ruined his life ... this according to a new, must-read lawsuit.

Anthony Elam from Philly tied the knot 2 years ago and got all gussied up for the occasion, courtesy of Men's Wearhouse. He claims just after he put the shirt on, he noticed it was infested by disgusting bugs. A trooper till the end, he wore the shirt and says it "tormented" him during and after the ceremony.

He says he was bitten badly and the injuries described in the lawsuit ... horrendous.

He says he and his wife are unable to work for an indefinite period of time. She's also suing for loss of consortium -- aka sex.

Animal rights protesters blasted Amy Schumer at her NYC book signing for her decision to sport fur -- but Amy says they've got the wrong idea about her wardrobe.

This pissed off group busted into the Barnes & Noble where Amy was holding court ... toting signs and shouting at her for wearing a coat this past winter made by Canada Goose -- a company the protesters claim engages in animal cruelty.

Check out the video we got -- Amy tries to calm them down by being playful, but they didn't back down. Security eventually tossed 'em.

A rep for Amy tells TMZ the whole thing was unfortunate ... especially since the protesters didn't hear her out. The rep says Amy got the jacket as a gift, and once she learned about allegations Canada Goose harms animals ... she hasn't worn it since.

Rapper Burberry Perry might need a new stage name after losing BIG in court -- a judge is ordering him to drop the famous handle ... for the time being.

TMZ broke the story ... Burberry -- the famous luxury apparel line -- sued Perry for jacking the name and using the company's plaid pattern and equestrian knight logo on his album cover.

Perry hasn't lost the case yet -- it's ongoing, but Burberry claimed their brand was being damaged right now, and the judge granted its request for a preliminary injunction. This means Perry has to scrub Burberry from all his social media and remove all references to "Burberry Perry" from his songs.

Perry's taken at least one step -- right after we broke the story, he announced on Twitter he'll be known as The Good Perry.

Katy Perry's new shoes should give a good idea of her new shoe line's direction -- she was in Vegas Monday to announce her 2017 collection, and sported cigar stilettos.
