Mike Brown's seat on the New York Knicks' bench is anything but hot, despite whatcha might be reading online -- so says former star John Starks, who tells TMZ Sports the coach is SAFE -- no matter what happens in the playoffs.

We caught up with the former All-Star out in NYC ahead of the Knicks' Game 5 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday ... and asked about reports Brown could be coaching for his job this postseason run.

"No, no, there's nothing there," Starks said. "I know people are looking for something there. But there's nothing there."

Drew Dodson is breaking his silence after being accused of hooking up with Steven McBee Jr.'s girlfriend, Allie Eklund, and he's pushing back on the cheating claims.

Dodson addressed the drama in an Instagram Story, saying he hadn't planned to speak out but felt forced to after the situation "took on a life of its own" online.

"I was at Stagecoach with a big group of friends, including someone I've known for years," he wrote, adding he was simply "enjoying the night like everyone else."

According to Drew, things spiraled when the night was "turned into public accusations about both of us without any conversation or attempt to actually understand what happened."

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel says he hasn't lived up to his own standards amid his tawdry scandal involving former Athletic journalist Dianna Russini.

In a press conference Thursday before the start of the NFL Draft, Vrabel avoided Russini relationship specifics but admitted his "previous actions don't meet the standard that I hold myself to."

Vrabel also said he's become a distraction to his family, his players, the Patriots organization and their fans, adding ... "My family needs me this weekend and that's where I'll be."

A witness tells us they snapped the pic when they recognized Vrabel ... and assumed at the time that the woman by his side was his wife based on their body language. They didn't realize until the recent bombshell news that the lady was actually Russini.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ, the NBA legend told the court he was the biological dad to 2-month-old King Rafael Santiago Pierce. He asked for joint legal and physical custody.

As we’ve previously reported, she’s asking for sole legal and physical custody -- plus a hefty $29,811 per month in child support, $100K in legal fees, and nearly $19K in pregnancy-related expenses. Santiago filed a paternity suit in California back in January.
