3:05 PM PT -- The fire's out, and most of the coaster is still intact. The blaze was reportedly started, accidentally, by welders who were building the new Twisted Colossus.

One of Six Flags' most famous roller coasters ... the Colossus went up in flames Monday -- just weeks after the classic ride was shut down.

The fire engulfed a big chunk of the coaster's track ... burning completely through the wood and steel. Firefighters were called to the scene, North of Los Angeles, around 1:30 PM.

The 36-year-old roller coaster had just been shut down in August, so the park could start work on a new and improved version ... to be called Twisted Colossus.

Colossus has been featured in tons of TV shows and movies like "National Lampoon's Vacation" ... "Wonder Woman" ... "Step by Step" .... "Knight Rider" and the "A-Team."

Something is rotten in the state of Magic Mountain ... and it's the carnival game 3-point challenge ... so says Matt Barnes who says the reason he only went 2 for 5 is because it's RIGGED!!!

TMZ Sports has the video of Matt and Deandre Jordan at the Six Flags themepark in Valencia, CA a few days ago ... where the L.A. Clippers star entered the contest ... and he didn't do great.

So, what's Matt's excuse?! Well, he was laughing about it when we saw him in L.A. the other day ... before making ALLEGATIONS OF SHENANIGANS!!!

(For the record, he's probably joking ... but, still funny!)

Lookin' to work in a little shooting practice before next season, Clippers stars Matt Barnes and DeAndre Jordan took their talents to Six Flags yesterday ... for a 3-point shot challenge.

TMZ Sports has footage of Barnes stepping right up to the carnival-style game at Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA on Thursday ... firing away from outside the arc.

He didn't do too bad ... hitting 2 of 5 shots ... while the crowd, including DeAndre, cheered him on.

We're told DeAndre did some shooting himself and even won a water bottle as a prize.

Sammy Adams -- the rapper behind the hit songs "Driving Me Crazy" and "I Hate College" -- collapsed on stage last weekend during a concert in New Jersey ... and TMZ has obtained scary footage of the medical emergency.

Adams was performing at Six Flags Great Adventure last Saturday for a Hurricane Sandy benefit concert when he suddenly became discombobulated and fell to the ground, shaking.

Stage hands rushed to his aid -- and Adams was subsequently taken to an ambulance.

It's unclear exactly what happened, but soon after the incident, Adams tweeted that he was okay and just felt under the weather.

As if the past couple of weeks haven't been enough of a rollercoaster ride, Michael Jackson's kids hit up Six Flags Magic Mountain this weekend with one of their newly appointed co-guardians.

No, it wasn't 82-year-old Katherine Jackson. This time, TJ got the nod.

Paris, Blanket and a sleeveless Prince spent their Saturday with the fun co-guardian -- hittin' up all the crazy rides at the theme park ... including "Revolution" ... the first rollercoaster ever built with a loop.

Less than 24 hours after William Balfour was found guilty of murdering her mother, brother and nephew ... Jennifer Hudson and her husband David Otunga hit up a Six Flags Great America in Chicago.

After three days of deliberations, Balfour was convicted of 1st degree murder in the deaths of Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson, and Julian King. Balfour was also convicted of home invasion and residential burglary.

Balfour faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison because he has been convicted of multiple murders.

LiLo hit up a bunch of roller coasters yesterday with some close friends, including her brother Michael Jr. and her sister Ali.

Today won't be nearly as fun -- because she has a date with the judge, who will most likely violate her probation. As for sentencing, Judge Stephanie Sautner will probably defer until a verdict has been reached.

The Superman-style coaster boasts "3,602 feet of blazing track ... 62 miles per hour ... 263 feet in plunges" and is 17 stories high at its peak.

Not that we're really, really jealous right now or anything.

Cholla -- a 23-year-old equine artist from Nevada -- was taught the brush stroke four years ago after watching his owner paint fences. Cholla's "art" has been featured in galleries across the world. Seriously.

Taj -- a 68-year-old elephant -- enjoys eating, painting and short walks around her cage at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in California.

But the real question...

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey had a shotgun wedding in the Bahamas, so now they're celebrating here ... at a theme park. Six months ago she was sipping Cristal on a yacht in St. Barth's -- now she's eating corn dogs in Valencia, CA.

We've confirmed Nick rented out Six Flags Magic Mountain for the night -- and word is it's for a wedding reception. The park shut down to the public at 6:00 PM -- and that's when Nick and Mariah took over. Mariah pulled up in a black Rolls Royce shortly after 8:00 PM. We're told the party will go on at least until midnight.

Ryan Phillippe says that he never did it with Britney Spears last year – or any of a slew of starlets he was rumored to have hooked up with after his divorce from Reese Witherspoon.

Under stiff interrogation from Howard Stern on his radio show, Ryan denied having made out with the Britster, and also nixed any notion that he had hooked up with Ashlee Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt, or Angelina Jolie. But he did admit that Lindsay Lohan "wanted" him.

Meanwhile, in the realm of real relationships, Ryan acknowledged that Reese's boy Jake is "a good dude" and says he wants his ex "to be happy, and it seems like she is."

While Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo heat it up – ok, at Six Flags, but it's somethin' – it looks like things could be a lot rockier for Jess' folks Joe and Tina.

The New York Post says the pair haven't been spotted together in months – TMZ just spotted him out solo, giving Tony the silent treatment – and just the other night, he was at a party in Austin, Tex. Without his wedding ring on and cruising the room, according to a spy. Sad thing is, Papa Joe got shut down: "He was flirting with one group of girls who either didn't know who he was or didn't care, and just grabbed their drinks, laughed and walked away."

His rep didn't return the Post's calls.

Lindsay Lohan was rushed to St. Vincent's Hospital in New York late Friday night after breaking her left wrist at a Fashion Week party. The actress was attending an event at the Milk Studios in New York when she fell and broke her wrist in two places, says her rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnik. According to Access Hollywood.com, Lindsay's mother Dina Lohan drove in from her home on Long Island to meet her daughter in the hospital. (With regard to yesterday's report of Dina and Lindsay's spat at a restaurant, Sloane Zelnick tells TMZ that Lindsay "loves her mother very much" and wishes people "would leave her alone.") The accident is being investigated because Lindsay claims Milk Studios hadn't been careful enough in preventing people from slipping.

The stakes in the Candy Spelling – Tori Spelling war just got a lot higher. The buzz in Beverly Hills real estate offices is that Candy Spelling has unloaded her 56,000 square-foot Holmby Hills mansion for a cool $130 million, and that the new buyer is an Arab prince.

The cash flow influx would likely fan the flames in the ever-escalating feud. Several well-connected Beverly Hills realtors and a prominent socialite tell TMZ about the swirl of conversation on Wednesday. The inside word is that, as TMZ first reported and as Candy's reps denied, Aaron's widow gave an upscale real estate company a "pocket listing" on the mansion and that her asking price was $150 million.

Now, the buzz is that Candy will quietly walk away with a boatload of cash, which will surely irk the soon-to-be cash-poor Tori. Candy Spelling's rep told TMZ, "It is not true, and she is not selling the house to whoever you have mentioned for the price you have mentioned."

The "90210" star was all but disinherited by her father, as she recently discovered in papers Aaron Spelling signed four months before his death. Tori reportedly will get less than $1 million – a pittance compared to his vast half-billion-dollar estate.

Tori and Candy have been at war with each other for months, clawing it out in the tabloids and elsewhere. And last Sunday, the pair were both present at last Sunday's Emmys, but even the occasion of an emotional tribute to Aaron could not move the mother and daughter any closer to a détente.

A week after Sumner Redstone made headlines around the world by declaring Tom Cruise persona non-grata at Paramount Pictures, the world's biggest and strangest star has a new investor.

In an announcement released this afternoon, C/W Prods. will be backed by a trio of investors including Washington Redskins owner Daniel M. Snyder, Six Flags CEO Mark Shapiro, and Dwight Schar of NVR, Inc., a residential construction and mortgage banking concern.

The company, to be called First and Goal, LLC, will "...invest in Cruise/Wagner Productions, providing development and overhead financing in this two year deal with the option to renew [for the] long-term..."

1) Jim Has Just GOTTA KNOW: What is the current relationship between Katie Holmes and her parents? Has she been allowed to associate with them?

After the birth of baby Suri, many rumors spread about the relationship between Katie and fiancé Tom Cruise and her folks Martin and Kathleen Holmes. Gossip columns also speculated that her parents might not attend their Scientology marriage ceremony because of their devout Catholic beliefs. However, sources close to Katie tell TMZ that the relationship between Ms. Holmes and her parents "has always been and remains a very close and loving one." 2) Alex Has Just GOTTA KNOW: Is it true that Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons are headed for a divorce?

March was the month in which Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons and wife Kimora Lee Simmons officially announced they were going to split, and it seems as if reconciliation isn't in the near future. The former ladies' man was spotted opening the door for and escorting a young blonde into a New York City (club?) last week. July 19: Private concert in NY for Victoria's Secret's World's Largest Pajama Party
