Robbie Knievel tells TMZ he's a hardcore alcoholic ... hellbent on self-destruction ... and there ain't a damn thing he can do about it.

Knievel just called in to "TMZ Live" to talk about his motor home DUI in South Dakota on Tuesday -- and admitted he was plastered that day ... explaining, "I'm a frickin' drinking, driving daredevil."

"I ride motorcycles and I friggin' drink and ride ... that's my deal."

During the interview, Knievel came off as a very conflicted man, battling some serious demons. "I have an alcohol problem," Knievel said ... "I'm a cowboy. I'm not a redneck. But I love whiskey."

Perhaps the most concerning part of the interview came when we asked how Robbie would feel if he hurt someone while boozed up behind the wheel.

"I shouldn't be drinking and driving 'cause I could kill somebody ... and you know what, it would be better if I killed myself."

The band behind the controversial song "Asian Girlz" ... is getting bullied into censorship -- telling us they're yanking the video because the backlash has gone from playful to threatening.

Day Above Ground Skyped into TMZ Live to respond to the outrage ... saying, "It’s a real thing and we didn’t expect it to be such a backlash."

Drew Drumm, Joe Anselm, and Mike Tourage told us they're pulling the video from the Internet on Saturday ... "for the safety of ourselves and for everybody we know. We don’t want anybody to get hurt."

They hinted some of the models in the video were receiving threats ... along with the band members.

If you haven't seen it ... the lyrics to "Asian Girlz" are laced with stereotypes, like ... "I love your creamy yellow thighs" -- and, "Ooh your slanted eyes."

The guys insist the song was intended to be "satire" -- but check out their faces during "TMZ Live" ... they're taking the whole matter very seriously now. And now here's the music video:

Daniel "Boobie" Gibson tells TMZ ... he was just defending his wife's honor when he got into an altercation with a man at the Essence Music Festival earlier this month ... after the guy disrespected Keyshia Cole in a "profane way."

Gibson -- who played with the Cleveland Cavaliers last season -- just called in to "TMZ Live" to explain why he turned himself in to police in New Orleans today on 2nd degree battery charges.

Boobie says Keyshia was performing at the event ... when some guy approached her and spouted off some very "disrespectful" comments toward the singer.

Boobie says an altercation broke out and "safety was threatened" ... so Boobie says he "needed to take action."
