Sharon Osbourne's Weight-Loss Journey ... With 'Too Much' Medication

Published | Updated

Sharon Osbourne's no stranger to body modification, and many of her changes in recent years have been related to her physique.

However, the reality television mainstay has made no secret of the extremes she reached while changing her body.

We're going to take a look at just how far she's pushed herself in the past and see how her actions could impact her future.

Sharon's Undergone Various Weight-Loss Procedures

Osbourne's been open about the causes of her size issues in the past, and she told E! News a longstanding eating disorder had been the root of many of her body-related concerns.

The wife of former Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne recalled undergoing gastric band surgery, which restricted the top part of her stomach in an effort to reduce her appetite.

She's also undergone a sleeve gastrectomy, during which a portion of her stomach was removed in order to form it into a tube-like structure.

However, Osbourne -- who confessed her weight peaked at 230 pounds -- pointed out she doesn't judge anyone for turning to weight-loss methods ... including medications.

She went on to state that, while she had attempted exercising, she ultimately determined that she was "too lazy for that."

She 'Couldn't Stop Losing Weight' After Taking Ozempic

Osbourne has also been transparent about her use of the celebrity-favorite weight-loss medication Ozempic, which she started using in 2022.

Although she utilized the GLP-1 medication for a few months, she stopped taking the jab after she found herself in a place where she "couldn't stop losing weight," according to the Daily Mail.

Osbourne also admitted she couldn't "afford to lose any more" weight, as getting any lighter would be dangerous for her body.

She then described the weight-loss drug as "very dangerous" if used in excess, as she found it to be "addicting."

Osbourne added she wanted to warn teenagers away from using GLP-1 drugs, which are "too easy" to abuse.

Osbourne Doesn't Feel Ashamed About Using Weight-Loss Medication

While Osbourne's been clear regarding her feelings about Ozempic usage, she doesn't think less of anyone for utilizing the medication, and she told E! News users shouldn't view their use of weight-loss drugs as "a dirty little secret."

The reality television mainstay has since revealed she's come to terms with her body-related concerns in recent years, and claimed she was "through with the weight loss and all that cosmetic stuff" during an interview with The Guardian.

She did admit, however, that she had used what she described as "too much" of the GLP-1 medication, which left her in a position where she "can't put on weight."

Osbourne added that, after going through various physical changes and ceasing her use of the weight-loss drug, she had "finally become more accepting of my body, my looks."

She then quipped her husband feels as if she had ended up looking "like Nancy Reagan" after all of her physical changes.

Billy Gardell's Weight-Loss Success ... After Bariatric Surgery

Published

Billy Gardell's weight loss has seen the formerly 370-pound-plus star slim down to a much more manageable number in the low 200s.

And the "Mike & Molly" star's also been open about how undergoing bariatric surgery has made all the difference in his fitness journey.

Here's how going under the knife completely changed the actor's life -- and how he's been able to keep off the pounds in the years after his procedure.

Billy 'Chickened Out' Of Bariatric Surgery A Few Times

Although his health improved in the long run, Gardell wasn't always so gung-ho about undergoing a weight-loss procedure, which he revealed in an interview with People.

The performer stated that, while he put off any drastic weight-loss measures for an extended period of time, he reached a point "where it hurt to exercise."

The delay wasn't for lack of trying, either, as Gardell claimed he "tried everything" to lose weight before falling into a "yo-yo" cycle that saw him gaining and losing weight.

He then recalled reaching a point where he realized that "drastic" action was necessary to address his health concerns, although he admitted that he "chickened out" of bariatric surgery on several occasions.

Gardell went on to state he eventually developed type 2 diabetes and was on medication for the disease for a year and a half, which greatly displeased him.

Gardell Changed His Mind About Surgery During The Pandemic

The "Bob Hearts Abishola" star then expressed that the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic was what motivated him to get his weight under control, as his size made him more susceptible to the effects of coronavirus.

Gardell added that he didn't want to risk the possibility of being removed from the lives of his family, saying "the idea of not being here for my wife or my kid motivated my change."

The performer noted he had to become "humble enough to ask for help" in order to actually start his plans for surgery.

He then spoke about consulting with a doctor, who he said "changed and saved my life."

Gardell said while he was grateful for the experience, he did not want his fans to follow his exact path to a healthy lifestyle, and noted the surgery was the "right decision" for himself.

Gardell's Weight Loss Shocked His Family

The actor has since opened up about the effects his procedure had on his immediate family -- some of whom didn't even recognize him at first!

Gardell made the admission during a sit-down with Entertainment Tonight and fondly recalled when he "first lost the weight, my wife thought a stranger was in the house."

He also spoke about meeting individuals in similar health-related situations, and said he advised them that following a weight-loss procedure, they needed to emphasize healthy habits in order to keep the pounds off.

The performer noted if "you're not willing to commit to the stuff on the other side, it's just gonna happen again."

Gardell then remarked that he had to work on accepting his size, and said the biggest successes in health often came "when you look in the mirror and go, 'All right, I'm gonna take care of you today.'"

Kathy Bates' Weight Loss ... With and Without Ozempic!

Published | Updated

Kathy Bates has become an example of self-determination paying off -- as she was able to drop an impressive 100 pounds over the past few years.

However, a lot of hard work went into her physical transformation, which was spurred by a harrowing health scare.

We're going to look into the "Misery" star's impressive weight loss and see why her newfound interest in wellness has greatly improved her quality of life.

Kathy Changed Her Habits After Being Diagnosed With Type 2 Diabetes

Bates was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2017, and she told People the disease had been prevalent within her family.

The performer told the publication several of her family members had been dealing with various complications from the condition, and her own diagnosis "scared me straight."

She stated that being told she was going to be living with the disease inspired her to start making changes in her diet and wellness routine.

Bates recalled having to completely switch up her diet, and admitted she "used to eat terribly," and at odd hours.

She remarked her niece had advised her she'd experience "an involuntary sigh" after becoming full, and she would stop eating after noticing the reflex.

She Lost 100 Pounds Through Workouts ... And Ozempic

Bates went on to tell the outlet that in addition to making changes with her eating habits, she started prioritizing her own fitness and became more serious about working out.

But she maintained she was committed to remaining independent while working out, and remarked she didn't want "anybody over my shoulder."

While Bates claimed that 80 out of the 100 pounds she lost were due to changes in her lifestyle, she admitted she shed the final 20 through the use of Ozempic.

The performer stressed that, although she was aware of claims her weight loss was achieved solely through her use of the celebrity-favorite medication, she wanted her fans to know she truly is dedicated to her health.

Bates remarked that the physical aspect of her lifestyle change "was hard work for me, especially during the pandemic."

Bates' Life Greatly Improved Following Her Slim-Down

The actress then expressed her life had greatly improved following her weight loss, as she became "capable" of working long days on set.

Bates added she'd become able to "do so many things that I couldn’t before" while working on the set of "Matlock," in which she stars.

Another benefit of her weight loss is the effects on the symptoms of her lymphedema, which causes swelling in various parts of her body.

The actress said she felt "such a thrill to be able to put my arm into a jacket and it fits."

Bates concluded by saying her weight loss had been an overall "emotional" experience.

Meghan Trainor's Weight-Loss Journey ... And Plastic Surgery!

Published

Meghan Trainor started off her career by being outwardly proud of her frame, which brought her plenty of attention from both critics and fans.

But she's since shed much of her weight, and her newly svelte physique has allowed her to completely rework her image.

Here's a look at how the "All About That Bass" singer pushed off the pounds -- with a little extra help from Mounjaro.

Meghan Began Losing Weight After Becoming A Mom

Trainor's weight-loss journey started after she welcomed her first son, Riley, in 2021.

The performer told People that after she became a mother, she entered a "really dark place," and she claimed she was the "heaviest I'd ever been."

However, Trainor recalled she recognized the need to maintain her mental well-being, and credited her first son with motivating her to make positive changes in her life.

She stated that in an effort to work her way out of the hole, she began working out regularly and started "seeing the pounds come off one week at a time."

The singer briefly paused her weight-loss journey during her second pregnancy, and after welcoming her second son, Barry, in January of 2023, she resumed her workouts.

She's Been Open About Her Workouts And Dieting

Trainor has since credited her dedication to fitness as one of the chief reasons for her major drop in size.

The hitmaker spoke about her routines in the gym in an interview with Women's Health, claiming she'd "lost so much weight that my booty is looking different."

She also gave the publication a look into her regular movements, and remarked that while she had become fond of strength-training, excessive running "made me swollen."

Trainor said she'd completely changed up her diet to focus on protein-heavy items, which helped her recover quicker in the gym.

The performer quipped that she -- as well as her husband Daryl Sabara -- were "always looking" for food-prep companies with high-protein options.

Meghan's Admitted To Using Weight-Loss Medications

Trainor has also admitted she's used weight-loss medication -- specifically Mounjaro -- to aid in her weight-loss process.

The "Made You Look" singer gave her fans a bit of insight into her history with the medication during an episode of her "Workin' On It" podcast, and she claimed Mounjaro came with "less side effects" than other popular weight-loss drugs.

She also claimed she'd done plenty of research into the product prior to actually taking the jabs.

Trainor then remarked her husband was using the medication as well, and quipped they "do everything together."

The performer subsequently requested her former fans who had been put off by her weight loss to either "leave me alone or stop talking about my body."

Meghan's Admitted To Using Weight-Loss Medications

Trainor has also augmented her body with various cosmetic treatments and procedures, in addition to the weight drop.

The singer has spoken openly about undergoing breast-augmentation surgery, which took place in early 2025, according to People.

Trainor also told the outlet that she'd "never been more comfortable in my body" following the enhancements.

However, the songwriter's also been open about the procedures that didn't work out so well ... and admitted on an episode of Workin' On It that her extensive Botox use hindered her ability to smile.

She claimed "nobody warned me" about the potential drawbacks of getting the cosmetic injections when she was looking into the medications.

Dave Bautista's Weight Loss Helped Him As An Actor

Published

Dave Bautista wowed fans with his sizable frame during his time as a professional wrestler, and he used his physique to his advantage after beginning a second career as an actor.

However, he shocked the public when he revealed he'd shed an impressive 75 pounds in an effort to make further strides in the entertainment industry.

We're going to take a look at the weight fluctuations that the "Guardians Of The Galaxy" star has experienced throughout his career -- and why he feels it's pushing him forward.

Bautista's Weight Peaked At Nearly 400 Pounds

While Bautista's looking much slimmer these days, he hasn't always been that way, especially during his younger years.

The actor opened up about his history with his body size in an interview with content creator Chris Van Vliet, where he revealed that "the heaviest I've ever been was 370 pounds."

Bautista went on to state he had dropped much of his size before entering the WWE, and claimed he weighed a much more reasonable 290 pounds for "most of my wrestling career."

The weight loss didn't appear to affect him in the ring, however, as he became a WWE champion several times over, and won the top prize in various events, including the wrestling promotion's Royal Rumble.

The performer's size made him a prime choice for casting agents, and he went on to portray imposing characters in movies like "Spectre" and "Blade Runner 2049."

Bautista Said One Role Made Him Want To Slim Down

Although Bautista's imposing physique made him a favorite with fans, he also recalled reaching a point where he began to feel "uncomfortably big."

The actor recalled gaining weight for his role in the 2023 film "Knock At The Cabin," in which he portrayed the imposing leader of a group of apocalypse-obsessed individuals.

Bautista claimed that he went up to 315 pounds before working on the movie, and he recalled eating excessive amounts of pancakes and fries in order to put on the pounds.

The performer said he was solely dedicated to looking intimidating on screen, and recalled "at the time, I was just thinking, 'I gotta get big, I gotta get big!'"

He added it took him "forever" to drop the pounds following the end of shooting.

He Began Losing Weight For The Sake Of His Career

Bautista eventually began to feel that a drop in weight would be the right choice for his career -- and his health.

He told Van Vliet he came to realize he would be more photogenic at a lower weight, stating the "more I trimmed down, the better I looked on camera, the better I looked next to other actors."

The performer went on to address the concerns of fans who were concerned about his drop in weight, and noted while certain individuals saw him as "anorexic," he was "just a large human being" ... regardless of his size.

Bautista also claimed he'd reached a much more svelte 240 pounds in the years since "Knock At The Cabin" was released.

He did state, however, that his naturally large frame still made him look imposing on screen, remarking that "at 6'4" and 240 pounds next to a much smaller actor, I look like a gorilla! And it's distracting!"

Bautista Started Adding More Cardio To His Fitness Routine

Bautista's also been open about how he's placed a priority on both working out and eating right -- both of which contributed to his drop in weight.

The actor claimed, as a result of maintaining a chiseled physique, "a lot of people think I’m just a meathead" during a video interview for Men's Health.

However, he told the media outlet he'd become much more focused on crafting well-rounded workouts that included considerable amounts of cardio.

Bautista remarked that, although much of his fanbase assumed he was a major fan of powerlifting, he would "rather be boxing or doing some type of interesting cardio like cycling."

The performer then quipped he was committed to "keeping it fresh" in the gym.

How Rebel Wilson Lost Weight And Changed Her Life

Published

Rebel Wilson's become a prime example of the potential that comes with a weight change, as she's begun taking on more mature roles in her later years.

However, she hasn't had an easy road to a healthier lifestyle, as she was previously restricted from changing her larger body size.

Here's a look at how the "Bridesmaids" star's decision to adopt fitness-centered habits led to a complete switch-up in the new stages of her career.

Wilson Wasn't Allowed To Change Her Body Size

Wilson's breakout came in the 2012 musical comedy film "Pitch Perfect," in which she portrayed wisecracking a cappella singer Patricia "Fat Amy" Hobart.

While the film's success launched her career and led to the production of two sequels, she later revealed that she was contractually restricted from changing her body size while starring in the films.

The performer made the revelation during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, where she stated that, while she had become interested in losing weight following the premiere of "Pitch Perfect," she wasn't allowed to lose or gain more than ten pounds.

The actress went on to state that she felt as if she had been "pigeonholed" into "playing that fat, funny friend," even in films outside the "Pitch Perfect" franchise.

Wilson added that, while she did enjoy appearing in those types of roles, she wanted to explore further opportunities that pushed her further as an actress.

She Became Dedicated To Fitness During The Pandemic

The "Isn't It Romantic" star began taking her health seriously following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which afforded her an opportunity to reexamine her relationship with her physique.

Wilson admitted that she had engaged in "emotional eating" and been lax with her dieting at the start of the pandemic during an interview with People.

However, she then stated that at a certain point, she was able to change her view of the circumstances and saw the period of downtime as a "great opportunity" to begin making healthier choices and began what she described as a "year of health."

Wilson began working with a nutritionist, who helped to curb her habit of "probably eating 3,000 calories most days," and she was later able to achieve a "healthy balance" between going to the gym, eating right and indulging responsibly.

Wilson Used The Potential Of Motherhood As Inspiration

The performer also gave further insight into her decision to lose weight while speaking with The Sunday Times and revealed that a conversation with a fertility doctor pushed her further towards adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Wilson stated the doctor told her she would likely have a better chance with IVF treatments if she were to lose weight, after which she went headfirst into the world of fitness.

The actress also admitted that she had tried Ozempic during her weight loss journey, although she did not stick with the medication for very long.

She added that, after trying out "crazy" workouts while navigating her "complicated" relationship with eating, she was able to lose eighty pounds and achieve an ideal body size.

Wilson's Hard Work Ultimately Paid Off

Wilson's since stated that her weight loss has resulted in a complete change in her career, which has led to her taking on more dramatic roles.

The performer made the claim during an interview with Sirius XM's Ben Harlum, where she remarked that she was able to "untypecast" herself after slimming down.

She added that, while she initially entered Hollywood in order to take on dramatic roles, her work in comedy paid the bills and raised her public profile.

Wilson then quipped that she almost felt as if she was "going back to my roots as an actress" in taking on less comedic parts.

How Chrissy Metz's Weight Loss took hard work ... and ozempic

Published | Updated

Chrissy Metz has been through it all on screen as one of the stars of the hit NBC family drama series "This Is Us."

And what many of her fans don't know is that the actress, whose character dealt with an eating disorder, faced similar issues related to her weight during the program's run.

Here's what the performer's said about overcoming the hardships she's experienced with her body ... and how she lost an impressive 100 pounds along the way.

Chrissy Made Aging Well A Priority

One of Metz's main motivations for improving her health was her desire to age gracefully as she moved into later stages of her career.

The performer spoke about the process during a sit-down with the Daily Mail, where she expressed that she was "nervous about aging, about osteoporosis or arthritis."

The actress went on to state that, through improving her health, she was planning on going through the latter stages of her life "the best way I can."

Metz also remarked that her approach to fitness was shaped with the goal of "staying strong and flexible" in the future.

She's Taken A Liking To Strength Training

The "American Horror Story: Freak Show" actress subsequently spoke about her preferred workout routine, which involved the use of heavy weights.

Metz remarked that she had become fond of strength training, as opposed to more cardio-focused approaches to health, over the past few years, which resulted in an impressive 100-pound weight loss.

The performer added that she had been working with a personal trainer in order to achieve her desired fitness goals.

Metz also quipped that, despite becoming a regular at the gym, she remained adverse to running "unless I'm being chased."

She's Admitted To Using Ozempic

The actress noted that she had been using Ozempic as a way to help her achieve her fitness goals in a shorter period of time.

When speaking about her usage of the celebrity-favorite medication, she stated that she wanted to help "destigmatize" the product for the public.

Metz added that she felt as if the process of using Ozempic during her weight loss journey had become "so personal."

However, she pointed out that she would likely never undergo a surgical weight-loss procedure, as she felt as if her issues with food were primarily "psychological."

She then likened the idea of going under the knife in an effort to control her size to putting a "band-aid" on a larger problem.

Chrissy's Fans Have Opened Up About Their Weight Struggles

The actress, whose character in "This Is Us" dealt with an eating disorder, has since become an inspiration for many fans going through similar issues.

Metz spoke about connecting with her viewers during an interview with Us Weekly, where she stated that she had "frequent" interactions with individuals who had seen her on the NBC series and were inspired by her character's struggle with her weight.

The performer added that "so many women have shared their experiences" with size issues after meeting the star.

However, Metz stated that she felt as if the ability to discuss weight-related topics with her fans was "a really special thing."

She also revealed she'd moved away from a vegan diet, where she had been consuming 3,000-5,000 calories daily, as a major factor in her weight loss.

She Leaned On Her Boyfriend For Support While Losing Weight

While Lizzo's come to appreciate the support her fans have given her during her yearslong fitness journey, there's one person that she feels makes the most impact -- her boyfriend, Myke Wright.

The singer, who's been involved with her partner ever since 2021, opened up during an episode of "On Purpose With Jay Shetty" and said when she first began losing weight, he was there to keep her down-to-earth about her fitness journey.

She recalled that "at first I was like, 'Oh my gosh I lost five pounds,' and he was like, 'Where did it go?'"

The performer then admitted that, although she was initially upset with her boyfriend, she came to realize that she didn't want to "lose anything" and wanted to focus on how to "win" with her weight loss journey in the long run.
