There was a new sheriff in town at the U.S. Women's Soccer Team practice -- a 9-year-old girl named Ashlyn who kicked off practice this week by breaking the team huddle!

Ashlyn is the team's V.I.P. guest for their big game at the SheBelieves Cup Tuesday night -- and it was all made possible by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

We're told Ashlyn -- who's battling leukemia -- is a HUGE soccer fan and really wanted to meet her favorite player, Alex Morgan.

Well, guess what!??! Alex -- along with other stars like Ali Krieger and Alyssa Naeher -- welcomed Ashlyn to the squad and promised to practice extra hard as they ready to take on France at RFK Stadium in D.C. tonight.

Leonard Fournette just fell into the 2nd round ... of daddy ... announcing the birth of his second kid, and get ready, college coaches -- it's a baby boy.

Fournette made the announcement on his social media, posting a picture of the kid with a caption that read, "Welcome my young boy into the world L4."

Leonard is a third, so we're assuming he kept the name for the little tyke to officially be the fourth and carry the name for another generation of tackle breakers.

Lakers honcho Jeanie Buss came out swinging against her brothers in new court docs -- claiming Jim Buss was a failure in his role with the team and Magic Johnson must undo the "damage" he caused.

The U.S. Supreme Court has decided not to rule in a case that could have established a hotly-contested transgender issue ... the right to choose which bathroom they use.

The court was set to hear the case this month but sent it back down to a lower court for further consideration.

A transgender high school student in Virginia filed the lawsuit to establish his right to use the boys' bathroom at his school.

2:19 PM PT -- A rep for the Ladywood Fire Station -- which responded to the fire -- tells TMZ that 2 individuals chucked a Molotov cocktail inside after breaking a window with a brick. We're told the van was connected to Floyd's entourage and the team handling his promotions while he's in the UK. Sources close to Floyd tell us the van was not actually owned by him. The case has been passed off to cops.

Floyd Mayweather had one of his entourage's vans burnt to a crisp in what appears to be an arson attack this weekend in the UK.

Floyd was speaking at an event inside the International Convention Centre in Birmingham Saturday night when 1 of his custom TMT vans was torched outside and left smoldering.

The boxer is currently on his "Undefeated" tour, where he's speaking in front of audiences and doing meet-and-greets with fans.

We've reached out to local authorities ... so far, no word back.

There's a silver lining for Floyd here -- he lost just 1 van ... as opposed to 4 expensive cars like the last time this happened.

12:15 PM PT -- The chairman the House Intelligence Committee said Sunday they would look into Trump's claims about wire tapping as part of its investigation into Russia. They added ... "the Committee will make inquiries into whether the government was conducting surveillance activities on any political party’s campaign officials or surrogates, and we will continue to investigate this issue if the evidence warrants it.”

Donald Trump wants Congress to investigate his claims Barack Obama tapped his phones during the 2016 Presidential election.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Sunday, "Reports concerning potentially politically motivated investigations immediately ahead of the 2016 election are very troubling."

Spicer went on, "President Donald Trump is requesting as part of their investigation into Russian activity, the congressional intelligence committees exercise their oversight authority to determine whether executive branch investigative powers were abused in 2016."

What's curious ... Spicer does not cite which "reports" triggered Trump's accusations.

An Obama spokesperson flatly denied the allegations. Meanwhile, Senator Marco Rubio said Sunday he had no knowledge of any such wiretapping activity during the campaign.

LaDanian Tomlinson says Colin Kaepernick is NOT ending his national anthem protest to score a new NFL contract ... saying he doesn't believe Kaep's change of heart is about money.

Kaep has reportedly decided to stand for the anthem next season because he believes there has been real change in America since he started taking a knee last year.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions admits meeting with Russian officials during Donald Trump's campaign, but won't resign because he says there was no convo about the election.

Sessions insisted he did not lie under oath during his confirmation hearing -- he just misheard the questions about whether he'd met with Russian reps. He went on to say the 2 meetings he had with the Russian ambassador had nothing to do with politics.

Sessions said he would recuse himself "whenever it's appropriate," and if there is any existing or future investigation into the Trump campaign's contact with Russia.

The dude with the busted grill is Josue Ortiz -- who allegedly tried to steal tools from an open garage in Fort Myers, FL ... when he was confronted by the homeowener.

Unfortunately for Ortiz, the guy defending the casa was Brian Burch -- who's not only physically imposing, but also has wrestling experience and trains at the local GJJ gym.

Burch says Ortiz got violent with him ... so he proceeded to beat his ass.

After smashing his nose, cops arrived and arrested Ortiz ... who left a big, bloody stain on the driveway.

Burch is being hailed as a hero ... especially by his neighbors who say the beating will serve as a crime deterrent.

Roman Polanski will have to go through the legal system like any other fugitive if the L.A. County D.A. gets their way -- but Polanski's attorney thinks it's "bizarre" prosecutors don't want to unseal a document that could show judicial misconduct.

The D.A.'s Office filed its opposition to Polanksi's attempt to set the wheels in motion for him to finally come back after nearly 40 years ... without serving another day behind bars.

We broke the story ... Polanski wants a judge to unseal a transcript of his prosecutor's testimony in his child rape case. He believes it will support his claim he'd cut a deal at the time to serve just 48 days. He says he fled in 1978 when the judge reneged on the deal.

In new docs, prosecutors point out the transcript was sealed at Polanski's request in the first place. They say they have no issue with him returning if he goes through the court system, but don't want Polanski to "dictate outcomes from afar while insulating himself from any potential adverse consequences."

Translation: They're not down to make a deal.

Polanski's attorney Harland Braun says he just wants the transcript unsealed to prove his client got a raw deal.
